Christmas with Tucker (2013 TV Movie)
7/10
You know the rules
31 January 2020
If I made an exception to my perfect score of seven policy for the hallmark channel I'd give this an 8, but common sense media's review ( see external reviews) has all I'll say about the movie and more. Good family fare, a refreshing departure from the getting to be cliche obsession with Christmas romances that have earned the Hallmark channel its nickname "The Harlequin channel." It was a family struggling to keep focused on what was important, what really counts. They make mistakes and learn from them while trying to cope with loss, but Harlequin channel take a hint: to score an 8 no one should have been moving in the direction of having a family.

A Shoe Addict's Christmas (2018 TV Movie)

Better than most

The title isn't quite accurate nor the description. I agree with those who noticed that the main character isn't a Scrooge she's just afraid to take chances. Her boss is a Scrooge but because of the main character that doesn't have to be so. It would've been better to call this AWOl photographers' Christmas add to have given her boss a guardian angel as well but you be the judge. The one thing they did get right is that the called this A romance Genre instead of Christmas because the Harlquin channel , Excuse me the Hallmark channel, Seems to think that Christmas is about romance instead of the birth of the Savior.

Journey Back to Christmas (2016 TV Movie)
7/10
7 is as high as i go

I said this regarding a competitor's (UPtv) movie "a christmas movie Christmas" that mocked the redundant remigined Santa, parttime matchmaker /magic at christmas/romance at christmas, etc, themes that commonly flood the harlequin channel, excuse me, hallmark channel line up :-). Seldom do they ever even mention, even in passing, the true meaning of Christmas. To score seven (the perfect score on my scale) It has to be a lot better than the worn out cliché movies they turn out at a rate of a dozen a week in December. This movie, for the Hallmark channel scored, the same as its competitor's brilliant twist on the cliche romance at Christmas theme referenced above. It has time travel it, has elements of it's a wonderful life, it has a positive message, and yes real Christmas carols, not the Seccular "let's celebrate winter" tropes. I've seen a lot of reviews of modern Christmas movies where the slightest hint of a religious theme is criticized Bitterly by other reviewers. For those who take the religious aspect of Christmas seriously a movie like this is more a step in the right direction. Good job Hallmark. Please give more equal time to those who recognize the religious reason as the reason for the season, then i might not be so hard on the "dessert" christmas entertainment.

Merry & Bright (2019 TV Movie)

nice, but, what is Hollywood's problem?
17 January 2020
It was a nice movie but it suffers from a common flaw that drives me up a wall. Hollywood is so obsessed with sex appeal that they absolutely refuses to cast a woman who looks likes she is 50 or 60 to play the lead actor/tress' mother. The mothers of both lead characters look like they could be the character's sister instead of their mother. Come on people, every woman character doesn't have to look like linda carter or Carrie Fisher when she auditioned for Star War Wars A new hope. They act like the world will end if a less than perfect looking actress is seen on screen, ands what they put these poor women through to make them look enticing is pathetic. I hope someone out there agrees with me.

A Christmas Movie Christmas (2019 TV Movie)

Seven is the highest I will go

I often nicknamed the Hallmark channel the harlequin channel. This movie made by one of their competitors, UP TV, makes fun of the trend of Christmas Romances that are the main feature in almost 80% of such movies set and shown at Christmas time, except the ones about commercialism and a reimagined Fantasy Santa with magic powers. This movie is clearly marked comedy fantasy, and in deference to those who thought that it wasn't done as well as it could've been or had no plot, I think they miss the point. The plot is making fun of Christmas movies,. IMD?B lists it as a comedy for a reason, and even the title and story line, much less the wooden acting they seem to be honing in on says loudly and clearly to me "this isn't meant to be taken seriously folks." I think the whole idea of a parody on Christmas movies shows that some writer in Hollywood still uses the brain they were given. If the makers of these kinds of movies can't bring themselves to show the true religious meaning of Christmas because of people who would complain about a movie being too religious, this is at least a refreshing treatment of a cliché theme in overly sappy sentimental romance at Christmas movies.

Snowbound for Christmas (2019 TV Movie)

some spoilers arent really spoilers
14 January 2020
If I'm going to watch a Christmas movie I want to know what it's about so that I know whether or not to waste my time so the Person who complained about a spoiler for this movie Doesn't have the advantage of wanting to make sure a movie watched is quality time spent. I'm glad this movie was spoiled for me because then I knew whether I would like it Without feeling like I wasted two hours of my time that I could've spent watching a Christmas movie Christmas which despite the negative reviews I think it's hilarious

Santa Claws (2014)

It works if taken as a comedy, otherwise no

For comedy 10, for seriousness 0, the average is 5. I understand why a lot of reviewers think this might be a stupid movie, And maybe it should be reclassified as a comedy for that reason alone. There are too many loose ends as others have pointed out, And yet I can't imagine the WritersIntended a serious movie. After all cats can't talk. But as a comedy, slapstick style, like looney tunes ,can you get enjoyment out of it If you take all the absurdities as if they were meant to be funny.

Sounds like nonsense to me

On the face of it its entertaining as science fiction but a waste of time when presented with factual errors. The host wavers between historical accounts and mixtures of falsehoods that make one laugh rather than take it seriously. Vlad the impaler was not a vampire or a werebat, for example but he was a historical ruler. The host melds the two statements as if speaking to tourists.
