Average Phineas and Ferb... which isn't a bad thing!
6 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This is a pretty good movie! It's no where near as good as the first film (across the 2nd dimension), but it still captures the heart and fun from the original series. The villain 'twist' was very predictable and Doofenschmirtz didn't really need to hang around after it was revealed that Vanessa got away. The animation strangely looked off at random points but that might of been because of the pandemic. All of the original voice actors were spot on and the writing still felt sharp. The emotional moments also worked pretty well and the music was great as always. Overall, I thought this was kinda average Phineas and Ferb... but that isn't a bad thing! 8/10

Decent payoff to a 32 year-old arc
9 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This was a pretty good special. I'm so glad that they brought back Holly even though he was a bit underused. The original cast were good as always, especially in the more serious scenes. I thought the cat clerics were alright characters, though a little underdeveloped. The main villan Rodon was played brilliantly and it was heavily disappointing with the limited amount of screen time he got. I feel the stuff about Cat and Rodon being brothers was out nowhere but all the other character bits were really good. I really liked the parody on Christianity and the visual gags in the cat ship were also pretty entertaining. The effects were stunning for a Tv movie which probably explains why there were seven ads throughout the special on it's original premiere! Overall, I found this a satisfying conclusion to a 32 year arc. 8/10

Incredible finale and set up for next series
1 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Wow. First of all I must state how excited I am for the next series. Judoon and daleks! Jodie Whittaker was great in this story. I liked the timeless child reveal and the origin of the time lords doesn't seem to contradict any canon (at least I think so!). The master was really well played by Sacha Dawan (as expected) and the companions were good. Even though they didn't have much to do in this story they were still very well played. I also loved how they gave Ryan that payoff with his throwing abilities. Overall, this is a great finale and I can't wait for the next series! 10/10

Great setup for series finale
23 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was a very strong one. The two minor issues with this episode were that the story with Brendan was very confusing and the cyber drones being cyberman heads was a bit stupid. But apart from those two minor queries this episode accomplished a lot. Bradley Walsh as Graham in this story was really good, especially when he realised that they left Ryan behind. Mandip Gill as Yaz was also really good in this episode. Sadly, Tosin Cole couldn't get up to those standards. The doctor was really well played by Jodie Whittaker in this episode, especially in the beginning and at the very end. The lone cyberman was again very done in this episode and I loved the new cybermen design. But I didn't really care for any of the side characters. The Gallifrey twist at the end was exciting and the master's return was short but very threatening. I adored the concept of the cyber war and how the remaining humans used a rift to travel to a different universe. Overall, this was a very good setup for the finale. 9/10

Very well done ghost story with sci-fi elements mixed in
17 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was great. The episode may have some problems but it's still pretty good. I loved the set and costume design and the people who played the guest cast were amazing! I loved the cyberman's design and the set up for the finale was also very well done. I adore how they started up with a pretty chilling ghost story to a story setting up the finale. One problem I did have with this episode though was that it felt like the companions (apart from a few funny lines from Graham) were ghosts themselves! Hopefully the finale will resolve the issue of a crowded tardis team. Jodie was exceptionally good this week, especially when she tells the others that she won't let cybermen take anyone else away from her. Overall, this episode was a great set up for the finale and I can't wait. 9/10

Decent episode, but feels like a clip show rather than a full episode
9 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode had a very good premise. The plot was well executed until the final ten minutes. I liked the message about mental health but I just think that it came out of nowhere. Maybe if they just took another minute before the ending this problem would be resolved. I also hated the cgi creatures in the start of the story. I haven't seen such bad cgi in doctor who since 2007's the Lazarus experiment. So far this may seem like I hated this episode but there were still plenty of bits that I enjoyed. I liked the two villains' backstory and the finger effect was very creepy. I also loved the character development within the characters but I think it would be even better executed if there were only about 2 companions. I think we needed just a little bit more time in Graham's nightmare. I'm also happy that there was a quick mention of the timeless child again. Overall, this was a pretty good episode, but a few times during the story it feels like I missed about a minute. 8/10

Alright episode... but still pretty bland
2 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
When I saw this episode was co-written by Chris Chibnall I was expecting something big. In his first three episodes this season he brought back the master, the judoon, captain jack, destroyed Gallifrey and introduced a new doctor. By no means was this a bad episode but coming after fugitive of the judoon this felt pretty disappointing. I liked how they explained why the birds were acting weird but the main 'villan' of the story was pretty rubbish. There were no hints of her being in evil and the fact that she wasn't taken over by the virus until the very end felt pretty stupid. The monster designs were pretty cool but severely underused. I found the effect of the virus taking over people's bodies very unsettling and well done. It also felt pretty tacky when Jake was about to save the world at the cost of his own life but in the end he survived. If everyone lives then the stakes don't feel very high. I also didn't really care about the girl who Ryan brought from Peru. She just felt annoying and she added nothing to the story. Next week's episode looks very promising but for now they must do better than this for the series to succeed 6/10

Excited, but a little bit nervous
26 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is one of the strangest in new who. But that doesn't mean it's not good! The twists and turns were amazing! I was so happy to see Captain Jack back and that twist with the two doctors was great as well (but a little nerve racking!). I also like how they set up the cybermen. One of the bigger problems of this episode however, is how the judoon are very underused. This episode is quite hard to discuss about because it went so quickly so that's why this review's a bit short. Overall, really excited for the future but maybe this many plotlines and twists could hurt the show in the future 9/10

Doctor Who: Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror (2020)
Season 12, Episode 4
7/10
A decent episode, but still problematic.
19 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was a strange one. It starts off pretty well with Nikola Tesla showing off his inventions to investors. But as soon as the doctor showed up it felt like I had missed about ten minutes. This episode's greatest flaw is that it's too fastly paced. And when the episode starts to slow down a little, the plot's all over the place. Yaz is used alright in this story. I liked how they paired her off with Tesla while Ryan and Graham were with the doctor. Graham had some good quotes but Ryan felt like he was invisible for most of the story. The doctor, for the first fifteen minutes just feels like a very enthusiastic history teacher. I enjoy learning history off of Doctor Who but this just felt very repetitive. I think Edison was entertaining in this episode as well. I didn't really like how the scorpian queen looked. The way she had a humanoid body was just off putting. Also, the morphing scorpians didn't have enough screen time to become memorable or feel like they had any impact on the story. Goran Visnjic and Robert Glenister were great as Tesla and Edison. Overall, this episode was alright, but definitely had some major flaws. 7/10

Back to normal...
18 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
After the thrilling two parter 'spyfall' I had high hopes for this episode. But this just feels like series eleven again. Though I think the message was good and the monsters were billiant, this episode feels stange. The lines felt off and the story was uninteresting. The furry creature looked awful and I didn't care about the plot of the mother and daughter. Ryan's interactions with the girl were also cringy. Doctor who should start hiring old writers back again because some of these new writers belong in the world of soap operas rather than in science fiction. For this series to succeed it must do better than this. 6/10

Chibnall's redemption
5 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
After a fantastic first part this story this story continues with action, cliffhangers and a shocking reveal. This episode has 2 main plotlines going on, the doctor trying to get back to the present and Ryan, Graham and Yaz on the run from Lenny Henry's Daniel Barton. Both of these plotlines are excellent and really entertaining. It was exciting watching the doctor interact with Ada Lovelace and Noor Inayat Khan and I was shocked with the reveal of Gallifrey's destruction. While it was entertaining watching the fam be on the run from Daniel Barton. One thing this episode does exceptionally well is making a tardis team of three actually work. Ryan, Graham and Yaz all have something to do in this episode and it's great! I'm also glad that they actually continued with the hints of the timeless child since it felt that they were never going to expand on it last series. This series has been phenomenal so far and I hope this streak continues with the rest of the series. 10/10

'O' my!
1 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Well that was one cliffhanger! This is probably my favourite 13th doctor episode so far. Jodie and Bradley Walsh both shine in this episode and Mandip Gill's Yaz is actually given character development! Though I still do think that Ryan is still a bit too sidelined in this story as usual. The plot and action were pretty good but I did feel pretty cheated when Stephen Fry got less that 5 minutes of screen time. Lenny Henry is also exceptional as Daniel Barton, though you'd have to wonder why they didn't make him the master. And that leads us on to the master reveal which in my opinion was almost perfect. Great comeback from Chris Chibnall 9/10
