Stupid movie
10 March 2024
Very stupid movie . With so much good content floating around on OTT, no one would waste time in watching a movie that would get through in 90s .. because people had no choice .

SRK is a legend. He should divert to roles like Dear Zindagi where we love him. Here he is a total misfit here. Also he looks much older than the role. Why why why ? This role could have been done by any younger actor.. and also you didn't need an A list actor for this role.

Tapsee's character needed naivity .. which she clearly does not have . Wrong casting there. Boman Irani is wasted.

The only saving grace is Vicky Kaushal .. who keeps you from leaving the theatre .. but he has a short role.

My advise - skip.

Couldn't see - literally
25 November 2023
Nice story , great acting .. but couldn't see half the series literally because of the lighting 🙈. Why did they do that ?

There is something about Israeli series that they are very gripping. You cannot understand what will happen next. The action sequences are just great. Well in this series , the action sequences were shot in the dark so couldn't see them 🙈. I hope the re-release after fixing this light issue so other viewers can benefit.

Every slow movie cannot be Lunchbox
26 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
With 2 brilliant actors, they could have done so much more. Did not understand the premise of the movie . A plot like this - where the protagonist has to lie to his grandmother- would have been more suitable for a comedy. There could have been more backstory shown example why is Sanya's character so timid. And there was such a waste of other brilliant actors like Jim Sarbh, Virendra Saxena and Vijay Raaz.

I saw the reviews where people are praising this movie . They probably haven't seen better movies which are slow and sensitive. An example is 'October' which is painfully slow but touches your heart. This did not touch my heart. I felt this girl should just focus on her studies .lol.

And the ending was too abrupt. I did not understand why a previous section is shown in the end. It did not make any sense at all.

Fantastic watch
27 May 2023
When I started watching , didn't expect the series to be so good. The scenes still run in my mind days after watching it. The casting was brilliant. The established actors are wonderful but Sidhant And Wamiqa steal your heart. Their scenes together just light up the screen .

The sets and costumes are very well designed. The moment the scene switches to B&W, it instantly transports you to the Doordarshan days of movies. The songs by Amit Trivedi / kaisar Munir helps in recreating that era. Instead of making copies of oldies, they have created something totally new that goes with that era. My fav is wo tere mere ishq .. What a series.. it's a must watch !

True depiction of media
29 September 2022
Even though it's inspired by a Korean movie, it's made well. The performances are good specifically Amruta. Kartik Aryan does well in this genre as well - only I wish he had been to a hairdresser !! The big bad world of media is correctly portrayed.

The pace of the movie is good though the technical details of the newsroom come across as unreal.

Many users are trashing this movie. I guess they are used to family dramas and love stories. Should give such stories a chance. We keep criticising Bollywood for being repetitive but when they come forward with content with a difference, we trash them. So the audience has a big hand in the fall of the Hindi movie industry.

The acting carries the movie through
15 April 2022
Great subject , interesting storyline though the writing isn't all crisp. Few scenes could have been shortened. Nimrat Kaur's transformation should have been more believable.

But there is no complaint in the acting department. The lead actors did a fabulous job. Abhishek's character, in spite of being a crooked politician, is lovable. Yami is beautifully tough and her role is well played out. Nimrat Kaur is awesome by herself though her part is not written so well.

Good one time watch. And yes, the message the movie gives is important !

Deepika can make it or break it
11 April 2022
I'm not writing here to judge the movie. It was an average movie which could have been written better and swear words could have been reduced.

I went through the comments and there are many 1 star reviews. This one star is not for the movie, it's for Deepika showing solidarity in JNU. So when you are a big star you need to watch out what you are upto off screen.

She acted very well, the music and cinematography was awesome but JNU sank the movie !!

Whitewash
1 April 2022
Unfortunately for the movie, I saw it after watching The Kashmir Files. I would have rated it higher if it was marketed as a love story .. but the producers fooled the audience by calling it a true story of Kashmiri pandits . There was a typical Bollywood formula where the 'khan chacha' is the best soul on earth. Hope this industry comes to its senses after seeing the success of TKF and start making more realistic cinema .

Too much bhaashan
15 September 2021
The positive thing was the acting .. Emraan Hashmi was the most convincing. AB gave too much bhaashan and that was a big put off. This is not an era of superstars where they can get away with boring monologues .

Pretty good

Not sure why some people have given it a low rating. It's a fast paced thriller with a decent script and good acting. What else do you need ?

Downhill after season 2
13 April 2021
With so much technology available, why didn't they just age the characters of season 1/2 into season 3. Changing the cast was a horrible decision and that's why the series doesn't have 9* rating which they would have got for season 1/2. Totally lost interest after season 3 because of casting.

Superb acting but twisted storyline
10 January 2021
Too many characters and too many subplots. It's the acting by the lead actors that keeps you gripped... otherwise it's easy to leave it midway . Also the violence shown could be avoided. After the success of Special Ops and Scam 1992, we the audience have realised that it's possible to see a good series without vulgar language and unnecessary sex scenes... so I hope other makers follow thru.

Jaydeep Ahlawat should be given an award for this

Just awesome
27 December 2020
This series proves that you don't have to have vulgar language and unnecessary sex scenes to hook the audience - as all other web series have been doing.

The story, screenplay, acting is just awesome. You are transported to the 90s and get an all sided perspective about this case - unlike what the newspapers told us in the 90s.

The casting is just perfect! All characters are so real and you can't find a flaw with anyone's acting ability. Pratik Gandhi is a revelation . He performed the role with absolute conviction. His smirk itself can win an award.

And not to forget, the music is top class. This is the only series where you will not fast forward the intro because the title music is mind blowing!

Must watch if you haven't yet!

What's wrong with Netflix?

Stupid show ... just like the Bollywood wives . Don't watch !! Is this the same Swara who acted in Nil batte sannata? Or that lady has been kidnapped and this is someone else wearing her mask ? Very trashy !

If they are showing modern India, why does it look so Hollywood? Wish they made something that's realistic for Indian audience. The only takeaway is that Rohit Saraf is very cute !!

Pretty but unrelatable
20 October 2020
Watch it for the acting, beautiful wedding sets, lovely outfits and some good looking people. Keep your brains away as you don't need it. Each episode tries to show you that all wealthy families in Delhi / NCR are immmoral, cheats, patriarchal and marry for either money or to flaunt your money. There is no love, respect, care for family/ friends and we are basically a screwed up country. And yes, Zoya doesn't forget to remind us that Hindus are all the scumbags . Article 377 was actually abolished by the 'so called' ruling party in her series - so who was she trying to kid ?? Many other incidents like this ... but I don't have the patience to highlight it here

All good other than the lead actress
13 August 2020
Throughout the movie I wondered who should have been selected for a lead role and I thought of Yami Gautam. The rest of the cast was perfect . The rating would have been close to 9/10 if the lead was selected correctly.

What a brilliant actor and what a loss to the industry!

Gripping
21 July 2020
It's a must watch for those who like thrillers. Don't get bogged down by negative reviews , it's from hollywood type viewers who compare too much. The cast is superb! I personally liked Amit Sadh's performance the best and all the supporting case of his sub inspectors . Abhishek was convincing and carried out the tough dual role well. Nithya is so pretty and she lights up every scene. The female supporting cast was awesome ! Hope to see them again on other series

This was the only movie of #SSR I had not seen so watched for him only. Can totally understand why this movie casted him and why it was released on OTT. May the producers rot in hell.

Selective amnesia but decent movie
10 September 2019
It was good to learn where Balasaheb's angst originated from . Now all the political happenings make more sense. However, the movie is biased and shows only the positive side of him and that's why the movie drags.. RGV' Sarkar had a more realistic take. One thing you have to credit the makers for is the selection of lead role. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is absolutely flawless and carries the otherwise weak movie with gusto !

Can't point a finger at what's wrong
22 June 2019
Watched episode 1.. couldn't really figure out what was wrong but didn't want to continue . Have read many dystopian books / watched movies but this just feels wrong instead of feeling like fiction. A few scenes are cringeworthy , dialogues unnecessarily vulgar.. just gives you a feeling that you are better off without watching. Then came to comments - never saw such a big swing of 1/10 to 10/10 for the same series. So yes, I guess some people totally get it while some don't get it at all.
