Buffering (2021–2023)

appalling

ITV think because Iain Stirling is popular with some of the people who watch trashy reality TV shows and some of the kids who watched kids TV 10 years ago that he is qualified to write a sitcom. Oh how wrong they were. Generic woke unfunny garbage that is as dull as dishwasher. The exact sort of sitcom that you would expect ITV or BBC to commission these days to be fair. It is pretty much an insult to the British greats of yesteryear. Josh Widdicombe's sitcom Josh, Amanda Holden's Big Top, and Romesh's awful landlord thingy, are the only British sitcoms I've seen in recent years that may possibly be worse than this and there have been tonnes of stinkers. Everyone involved should to be utterly ashamed of themselves!

The Blacklist (2013–2023)

Starts off well but..

All the major characters apart from Reddington and Dembe are pretty unbearable (especially Aram and Keen) and nobody in it can act apart from James Spader (Megan Boone and Ryan Eggold are particularly bad) so it quickly loses its initial promise and becomes unwatchable. Good idea ruined by the annoying characters and terrible acting but the writing is decent until the last few seasons (which are just awful) and Spader is excellent throughout.

A beginning, a middle, but no end

Those giving this 10/10 on the basis of the first few episodes must be embarrassed now. Don't get dragged in by the promising start and the quality acting as it ends up being no more than complete waste of time. C4 played the same trick with Kiri the previous year. Starting to get annoying now.

Ruined by Rob

Most shows up until the recent series are pretty good. Jimmy Carr and Sean Lock in particular. However, it has been utterly ruined with the introduction of Rob Beckett as a captain. Now about as funny as pulling teeth, giant shiny teeth at that. No wonder the viewing figures are through the floor. Won't last long now I wouldn't think unless they get shot of Beckett.

Truly awful

The Big Narstie Show is on after on C4 and Big Narstie, a grime artist, is funnier than these three put together. Josh Widdicombe in particular is just cringeworthy unfunny. This show sums up everything that is wrong with modern-day British TV comedy. Truly awful!

Thought I'd hate it. Absolutely loved it. Brilliantly written. Brilliantly acted. Just brilliant!

In fact they should show it in schools just so everyone has. Quite simply magnificent!

Probably the best drama the BBC has ever done

Can't believe it hasn't had more awards or recognition. Every series is as good as the last. Blows the likes of The Bodyguard and Killing Eve out the water. The acting is so much better with Keeley Hawes (good in The Bodyguard but brilliant in this), Vicky McClure, and Thandie Newton (series 4) all particularly magnificent. Can't wait for series 6!

A bit disappointing

Was expecting something of Christopher Nolan quality after all the hype and Oscar nomination. Sadly not even close. Especially the directing. Overly long too. Some good acting though, decent story, and much better than most superhero movies. That all said, don't believe the hype!
