A Good Person (2023)
A very good emotional roller coaster!
I loved this movie, it was so much more than I thought it would be. It provides an honest, brutal look at addiction, guilt, love and relationships.
Florence Pugh is amazing, as always, she really is such a versatile and talented actress. I loved her singing too, who knew she could sing, and sing so well!!
All the cast were exceptional in their roles, especially Molly Shannon, Celeste O'Connor and Morgan Freeman.
This movie took me through a range of emotions and I felt so connected to the characters and the journey they're on. I found the ending very satisfactory, although we don't follow the characters into their chapter, we can assume that all will be good for them as they continue to love and support eachother and be good people.
Zach Braff more than proves his worth in this movie, a triumph in my opinion.
Christmas with the Campbells (2022)
Oh dear!
In short, this is a very strange movie. Gratuitous swearing and sex talk with incestuous overtones.
Justin Long has a weird accent, weird way of delivering his lines and it feels so forced and unnatural. I cannot believe Vince Vaughn is one of the writers and has been involved in this car crash of a movie. Brittany Snow is awful too and again very awkward and unnatural. There is zero chemistry between Jesse and David and although it's inevitable they will come together, this doesn't happen till so far into the movie that it becomes unexpected. I had to give it 4 stars because I watched the whole thing. And there were some very funny albeit strange moments. The snowy scenery is lovely, as is the dog. If you have a little time to waste and want to watch something Christmassy then settle down and enjoy!
Tales from the Lodge (2019)
Enjoyable movie-British Comedy Horror
I really enjoyed this comedy horror movie with a fab cast. It's about a group of old Uni friends gathering to say farewell to their deceased friend. They're holed up in a lakeside lodge, five friends and one outsider. Secrets, tension and story telling ensue! Watch it!
The Invisible Man (2020)
Great Movie!
This is a great movie, a must see! A really interesting take on the original H.G. Wells story. The beginning put me in mind of the movie 'Sleeping with the Enemy' which is one of my favourite thrillers. This movie is full of drama and twists and true to it's mystery thriller genre. Watch it!
Knuckleball (2018)
Loved it!
This movie had me thinking of Home Alone but with more violence and great action scenes. Unexpectedly very good.
Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath (2016)
Wow!
An absolutely fascinating, indepth look at Scientology. Mike Rinder is the ultimate oracle on all things Scientology. All the stories featured by these brave people are so moving and heartbreaking, you will need tissues. Leah Remini is so courageous, determined and compassionate, I am in awe of Leah, Mike and everyone that has contributed to the series and their never ending commitment to expose this toxic, money making, family destroying so-called religion.
Holy Hell (2016)
Fascinating!
A fascinating look inside a secret community of seemingly like minded people. All searching for enlightenment and inner peace on a journey of self discovery. Guided by the master! There are two parts to this film, a must see!
