The Daily Show: Jordan Klepper/Charlize Theron (2019)
It tries to be funny
I watched this with my dad and we watched in silence. The impressions are poor. Trevor Noah does his best with the material, but man is that writing subpar. It isn't funny. It's not the politics that bother me. I don't care less about that. There are pee jokes. Why is there first grade level humor.
El laberinto del fauno (2006)
Lost For Words
As I begin to write this review, amny thoughts come into my mind. I'm not sure how to discuss a film like this with tears still in my eyes. I didn't go into this movie expecting to cry, but I did. For the first time in a while. This movie profoundly resonated with me, but that is not only what makes it great. The score, direction, acting and visuals are great as well. This is the kind of movie that has a quality to it that makes it so almost anyone who sees it will love it.
Cape Fear (1991)
Pretty good entertaining and disturbing thriller
Goes slightly over the top, but doesn't hold back in what it's trying to do, ad achieve it's goals in most regards. The acting is great, so is the socre an the cinematography. The screenplay loses some of it's effectiveness in the third act, but that's okay, because this isn't the godfather, It's Cape Fear.
Se7en (1995)
Se7en Is pretty great with a few flaws, Highly Recommend
It is graphic and disturbing, and yet this noir-style detective mystery thriller manages to satisfy and achieve it's exact goals. The only issues I have is a book reading/researching scene (That goes on FAR too long, but I understand the intent), and the overuse of classical music. At first, some of the usage was interesting, but it just got repetitive and grating by the end of the film. The acting was great, the direction was great, and overall this is a very good movie. Highly recommend.
