Love, Death & Robots: Three Robots: Exit Strategies (2022)
Uninteresting
The most pedestrian critiques on society told through shallow dialogue. Also one character is incredibly irritating. The insights in this episode are about as nuanced as "Don't Look Up," and preach conclusions that are easily made by any functional fifteen year-old. Each character is limited to a single function. One is there to ask questions, one to give the answers, and another to offer trite commentary.
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 6: From the Desert Comes a Stranger (2022)
Very good.
I'm all for exploring Luke and others during this time, but the voice dubbing for Luke is nearly unbearable for me. They seemed to have stripped much of Hammel's original performance/personality, he's far too stoic for my liking. Other than that, I had a good time.
Shameless (2011)
Unforgettable.
The high score is the result of some surprisingly stellar first few seasons, and the reason it's not higher is the result of the lackluster last. Once a certain main character bids adeu, so should you.
Love, Victor (2020)
Safe
This series plays it safe in almost every way, and sticks to cliches long established by teen romance shows of its kind. The lead character is pretty vanilla, and doesn't have much to him. The supporting cast, however, is great, and have some of the more interesting side stories. Overall, if you're gay and looking for a show that finally represents the struggle, this isn't it. If you're simply looking for a casual love story, try it out.
Evil (2019)
Smart at times, dumb at others, enjoyable throughout.
The imagery, characters, acting, and questions that this show offers make for a great time. However, the writing can be frustratingly uneven at times. Pretty much every scene involving the children is nauseating, especially the AR goggle storyline. It's incredibly unrealistic, and doesn't have any true bearing on the actual story. Things like this threaten to undermine the otherwise creepy and smart aspects of the show, but luckily it has them in spades.
