Meet Marry Murder (2020– )
6/10
Interesting...however,
8 February 2024
I prefer this "Meet, Marry, Murder" series over the other series of the same title with Michelle Trachtenberg. I do like that there's a combination of US and UK cases, many of which I have not previously heard about.

Many of the cases are interesting...HOWEVER, a few of the "experts" are overly dramatic and unnecessary. Why, why, why is Carolyn Canville, the journalist not speaking to the audience, but looking off sideways? It's beyond distracting and quite annoying. Also, Brian Harris, the former police officer constantly repeats himself, again very annoying. These "experts" add nothing to the show when the actual narrator is able to explain the cases in a much more reasonable tone and manner.

Good Concept, Bad Execution
30 December 2023
The concept of this series is good and the cases are definitely interesting, however the "experts" are completely unnecessary.

The concept of focusing on lesser known older cold cases that are finally solved is great. I've watched several episodes about cases I had never seen before or knew anything about.

What doesn't work are the plethora of " experts" giving a synopsis every episode. These "experts" are unnecessary when there is also a narrator. The worst offender is the forensic expert, Christine Hannah, who talks with a breathy affect as if someone punched her in the throat. I literally want to gauge my ears out every time she's on screen. The other "experts" seem to recite commentary as middle schoolers giving an oral book report, they're a bit to excited about murder.

Hopefully there will be more seasons, just without these unnecessary cast members that ruin the serious nature of the show.

Started off strong & then went to S#^+!
20 September 2023
This series started off strong and then went off the rails. Seasons 1 & 2 were decent...engaging storylines, beautiful scenery and good character development. The short form storytelling also worked much better than the long drawn out arcs in the later seasons. By season 3, the series began getting weird, especially with the Branch Connelly character.

By season 4, everything changed, the characters became unbearable! Walt became a righteous, obsessive, conspiracy nut who was more of a criminal than the actual criminals. Vic became an annoying, love lorn loon and idiot. Ferg became a jealous simpleton. Henry became a cyborg, talking in oddly broken english. The plot and writing became ridiculous. So much crime and corruption for a small town to only have a police force of 3 stooges, they literally created their own problems and escalated every situation.

Also, the cell phone issue drove me insane.

And...the "will they or won't they" was beyond cringey. This was supposed to be a police drama, not some 80's rom-com.

Good start...WTF middle?!?
8 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The series started off great, with an interesting plot. The first few episodes sucked me in with the mystery and background of the characters, then it went off the rails. The original plot become riddled with unnecessary storylines, swiss cheese sized plot holes and some extremely bad acting. Much of the series is unbelievably filled with unnecessary subplots that don't move the story along and just make the viewer think WTF and what's the point?!?

How is it possible that some 15 year old kid can run around town/school as if he's James Bond? Kidnappings, killings, human trafficking and of course throw in a gaggle of lesbians. Also, this kid is risking his life for some girl he knew for 5 minutes...it's just getting ridiculous.

I'm now invested after 6 episodes, so I'll finish the series, hopefully the last 3 episodes are as good as the first 3.

Just Bad!
6 May 2023
This movie is so bad, you don't know if it's an action, romance or comedy.

An all star cast with the most atrocious acting performances, horrid writing and ridiculous storyline. How can one assemble this many A-list actors and fumble so badly?!? I blame the writers and whoever greenlit this mess! Even with this all star cast, Ana de Armas is the worst part of this movie.

I knew within the first 5 minutes this was going to be awful, but I continued watching out of curiosity and to write a review with all the facts.

Is this supposed to be the Hallmark version of a Bond movie or Bond version of a Hallmark movie?

The Night Agent (2023– )

Stupid, but entertaining
19 April 2023
The Night Agent was so damn stupid, however I was entertained.

Firstly, the storyline had a decent premise, but the execution was ridiculous. So many plot holes and absolutely unbelievable scenarios. It became somewhat laughable. I mean, really the leads just survived almost being murdered for the millionth time and are still being hunted, but they are ready to go to pound town.

Secondly, the acting. Wow, it's atrocious! The lead actor wasn't horrible, but everyone else was monotone and stiff. Truly the actors didn't have much to work with, so I understand why they're so robotic saying their lines.

Even with the unrealistic storyline and underwhelming performances, it was still an entertaining binge.

Watch in small doses.
24 October 2022
I'm trying, I'm really trying to get through this series, but it's making me physically and emotionally ill.

I watched the documentary "Abducted in Plain Sight", so I was prepared for the content and it's mind boggling absurdity. However, it's just so difficult to watch, especially knowing it's based on true events.

Great actors, unfortunately they're playing absolute horrible and predatory characters. The esthetic of the era is done well.

The 1970's were a wild time. What sick and disgusting world we lived in and unfortunately are still living in. Being naive is no excuse to be so damn ignorant.

Watch in small doses!

Vapid Narcissism
25 September 2022
Vapid Hollywood Nobodies still being Vapid Hollywood Nobodies!

This "cast" of OG Influencers continue to be VAPID, yet extremely boring and annoyingly obnoxious. None of them had shown remorse then and they still don't show remorse now.

The narcissism and delusion is off the charts. The mother Andrea is a damn mess...she now calls herself a "Dr." JFC, parenting done very wrong!

The cast is extremely awkward, yet boring. They continuously lie or distance themselves from the actual crimes. Also, the close up camera work is quite jarring.

These people are just awful. When I'm feeling bad for the now Z-List celebrities, you've royally f-ed up.

Cliché
23 August 2022
Every cliché is in this dragged out drama. Evil twin vs semi-not as evil twin...contrived stupidity.

Dumb story, even dumber characters.

Poor Matt Boomer...hope he sticks with AHS.

Good, but...
17 August 2022
This is a good documentary due to the subject matter, however it definitely drags on too long. The focus on the theater players is frustrating because it takes you out of the main story, it was unnecessary. Also, the conspiracies brought forth by Searcy, some of the police and the victims family are absolutely ludicrous. It's absolutely astonishing how incompetency and ignorance can ruin so many lives. Humans need to be better and do better!

Fake! Fake! Fake!
22 June 2022
It was somewhat funny, though it's so fake. This cast could barely contain their laughter while attempting to shade each other. This show will make the Facebook crowd cream in their MAGA hats. It has all the greatest hits of what they think the "woke" Gen Z crowd is about.

This show is so stupid, it ends up being hilarious in a bad way.

Fantastic Series
22 June 2022
This is a fantastic series that tackles a really difficult topic. I found myself enthralled in the topic, reading many articles and this series stayed true to the original concept. The writing and acting is above par, Jon Bernthal is excellent as always.

Makes Zero Sense!
22 June 2022
This series makes zero sense. It's confusing and extremely unrealistic. The only decent thing about this series is Toni Collett's acting ability. The premise is actually quite ridiculous with excessive plot holes. Finally had to turn it off episode 4 because I just couldn't watch another second.

Fantastic Series
3 June 2022
Fantastic series...captivating story with superb acting. I became completely invested in this series, it was informative and easy to follow even with the flash forwards and flashbacks.

It's truly amazing to see how corrupt and evil people can become when money and power are involved. So many senseless deaths.

Good, but too much filler!
30 May 2022
This series was good, but didn't need 9 episodes. There was so much far fetched BS and filler that the real story got lost. Too many ancillary characters whose input was unnecessary. The premise was interesting and could have stood on its own without the kitsch and constant chaos. Anna is not the feminist icon they're attempting to portray her to be. Also, that damn accent drove my bonkers.

This was a very typical Shondaland production.

Fake, Boring and Slow
20 May 2022
This "reality" show can't even pretend to be real. This is more phony than The Real Housewives and 90 Day Fiancé.

These fake ass people suck at acting...JFC, the long pauses are annoyingly frustrating.

No one acts this obnoxious or gossipy. It's not even entertaining. Conversations literally go nowhere!

So BORING!

Everyone Sucks!
12 September 2021
This series had potential with a great cast, however I absolutely hated every character. Every person was miserable which made me miserable watching. Thank goodness it started off as a "who done it" or I would have never continued the remaining episodes.

A decent binge
12 September 2021
This is a decent binge series, not great, but not awful either. The story is intriguing with its twists and turns, it keeps you engaged for the first few episodes. It tends to drag in the middle and then pick up again the last 2/3 episodes. As usual with Netflix, it visits all the social/cultural tropes while attempting to keep you engaged with the twists.

Season 1: Yes; Season 2: NOPE
16 June 2021
Season 1 is phenomenal. Great action, great story, great acting...couldn't stop watching. 10/10

Season 2 is a FLOP. What happened?!? The writers screwed up a hit show and turned it into a damn soap opera. The only reason to watch is for Jon Bernthal. 3/10.

Had so much potential...
13 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This movie had so much potential since it was based on the real serial killer BTK. It started off good and seemed to go into the direction of the real BTK, then it went off the rails with absurdity. If it had stayed true to the actual events, it could have been great, but such a ridiculous ending.

Tedious...
11 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This show started out strong, but has become tedious to get through. The slow build up makes you not care about these characters or why they're running. I'm actually rooting for this family to get caught or die, so no more innocent people become victims of their stupidity and delusions.

Highly recommend
10 April 2021
This series was done exceptionally well. It had intrigue, suspense, drama and wonderful acting. The only issue is the constant time jumping, but you get used to it.

The suspenseful storyline kept me on the edge of my seat. It captured the 1970's quite authenticity and the visual landscape was impressive.
