Police Squad! (1982)
So funny and hasn't dated at all
The comedy is so absurd and so funny that it hasn't dated since it was made in 1982. It may even be funnier now than it was then. Leslie Neilsen, Alan North an William Duell are the absolute masters of straight comedy. The verbal and visual puns are hilarious. The worst part is that they only ever made 6 episodes. It deserves to be seen by a lot more people. It's a parody based on early police dramas like Dragnet but my daughters who have never seen dragnet found it hilariously funny on its own merits. The dialogue is witty and unexpected. As a comedy it's up there with shows like Get Smart and is arguably better than the Naked Gun series that followed it.
If you've never seen it and you get a chance to watch it you won't be disappointed.
Upstart Crow (2016)
Clever, topical, well written and very, very funny
As other people have written, the better you know Shakespeare's plays the funnier you will find Upstart Crow. The writers have done an excellent job of satirising modern issues in the context of the Elizabethan times. David Mitchell looks amazing as William Shakespeare and the he and the rest of the cast capture their roles brilliantly.
The Giant Spider (2013)
I just want to add ...
I agree with most of the comments of the other reviewers. I just want to add that there is a lot of satire around the male-female relationships and the male-female stereotypes of the 1950s. The writers and director are obviously poking fun at the idea that all a woman wants is to be admired and married, and every man wants to be a hero.
Embarrassing Pets (2018)
If you like pets you'll love this show
This program is about a group of photogenic vets in Cheshire who fix embarrassing problems with people's pets. The animals vary from dogs and cats to a tortoise, a guinea pig and even an alpaca. The people love their animals and often treat them like fur babies. The vets retrain the pets with kindness. Cesar Milan, the Dog Whisperer, dealt with unruly pets by walking in and becoming the alpha dog. These guys use a much kinder and gentler approach and the show is really quite lovely.
