War (2019)
Surprisingly good
So I went with fully expecting this movie to be a disappointment and was thinking in my mind that this will be the Hobbs and Shaw of Bollywood. I was pleasantly surprised. Fast pace movie, good direction (other than some unnecessary weird camera work and excess use of slow motion). Somewhat predictable but still enjoyable. Finally, mannn I am straight guy but Hrithik is just too damn good of a beauty. Every frame he is in, man crush just blossoms. Tiger still has a long way to go with acting (and I just wish he stops doing this stupid aerobics in every frame).. one time watchable
The Family Man (2019)
The makers almost fill like anti-Indian pseudoseculars
What a shame. The mockery these show makers have made of NIA, RAW, police force, Indian Commandos and just security forces in general is so infuriating. It's like spitting on every Indians face.
Every terrorist activity has been justified, be it Mussa's tragedy from 02 riots or scooter bombers from J&k security force brutality.
I really wanted to like this show due to Bajpayees acting and all but sorry. It's almost justifies terrorism by saying gau rakshaks, security forces are responsible for all that's happening and people who have lifted weapons is because they were forced. Stop this non-sense once in for all.
And don't even get me started on the plot-
For god sake, it's the people who have sacrifice their everyday life (NIA, RAW, Police) show some decency and respect. No one is that stupid. Just watch yourself and judge it.
Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)
Mediocre but enjoyable at the end
I'm huge fan of Tom Holland since his The Impossible days and obliviously Marvel has delivered time and again for last decade. I went to watch this movie with high expectations but the first half was super cringe, filled with lame humor so much so that I felt like I was watching DC movie. The first part is just awful and just when I was about to be hopeless, second half kicks in and how. Amazing fight sequences, vfx and some great cinematography. Still persistent bad humor but all and all satisfying action at the end. It's not as good as the hype but it's watchable in theater for the final one hour.
Some major loopholes in the plot too. I mean Iron Man designed EDIS and has no failsafe not to be used against civilians or Tony's own successor Peter? It's just an insult to Tony's intellect. Also MJ and Peter's lovestory seems so forced. Ok that's it. Make your own call.
Occupation (2018)
So bad it's hilarious
What was this movie? What were they trying to achieve, plot wise? It's so bad, it's just make u laugh. It started promising and then as someone else pointed out, it goes downhill so fast, it makes you wonder, what happened? It's almost like 50 different people were given task to direct/write this movie and they just slapped all together. The whole plot, acting and screenplay just doesn't make any sense throughout whole movie. Just please avoid this movie at all cost. I am not getting 2 hrs my life back but I can just maybe help you save yours.
Paltan (2018)
Stale performance, terrible dialogues, worst acting and unbearable casting
Watched this movie with lot of hope since it has patriotic theme and of course Dutta's direction. What a let down. No wonder it went completely unnoticed. Here's my two cents on the movie
1. I don't know if JP Dutta was just bored sitting home all these years but I feel like there was absolutely no effort put into writing dialogues or casting characters.
2. Bunch of new faces who recite dialogues as if they are reading it in rehearsals.
3. Veteran actors like Jackie and Others are absolutely terrible with dialogue deliveries.
4. The whole family/romance melodrama doesn't fit into a movie. Also not sure who casted these bunch of new actresses but wow...it's a mess
All and all, total dud
