Murderville (2022)
Fun and hilarious but a lot of it down to the guest star
It's a great premise for a show; half improve and half scripted. An episode by episode whodoneit leaving the guest stars and the audience trying to work out the murderer in each case. It's fun watching and trying to piece together and it's funny watching the guest stars navigate their way through the mysteries. The improve element is made funnier by Will Arnet trying to push the guest stars in awkward and ridiculous situations and lines of questioning and to be honest some of the funniest moments are watching Arnet and the scripted cast desperately trying not to break character and laugh through some of the scenes. Some of the guest stars and actors make for funnier episodes than others, making some scenes hit or miss. But on the whole I hope it gets a second season because the premise is great and original and the recent Christmas special under a different name was hilarious.
The ABC Murders (2018)
Worth a watch
It does well to portray an older less respected Poirot. Might not be as good as the original and they have changed his personality somewhat, but the cinematography is very well done. And the backdrop interestingly includes a darker more right wing pre WW2 England. If you like Poirot I can't guarantee you'll enjoy it, but I don't think it's half as bad as some of the reviews on here and recommend watching to make your own opinion.
