Stupeur et tremblements (2003)
Annoying music
Was it just me, or was the background music too loud a lot of the times and very annoying? I watched this on faster speed to see if something interesting would happen, it was all a bit too slow paced and uneventful for me. I did like the parts where Amelie interacts with the Japanese managers, this gives an interesting insight.
Poeslief: Een ode aan de kat (2020)
Omg, no, no, no
As a big fan of cats, I'd thought I'd watch this. From the get go, however, this 'documentary' irritated the hell out of me. The voice-over is very annoying, the way she drags her voice all the time. It's supposed to be the cat's voice, but I don't think it fits the cat in question at all. And then the video clips of the cats being shown: these are quite a bad quality and I mean, seriously, 'vertical video' in a movie? On YT, sure, but I would expect better quality clips and also more interesting ones in a documentary like this. I tried, but could not sit long enough to finish the whole thing, so turned it off. It seems like they did not put much thought or work into this 'documentary'. It feels like they wanted to make fast money with the entire cat video-hype thing that has been going on. It could have been so much more interesting and fun, it's a pity.
In short: don't waste your time on this, just look at fun clips of cats on social media instead.
Tully (2018)
Thoroughly enjoyed this movie
This movie was better than I expected, though was not even sure what to expect upfront. Wanted to watch it again right after finishing. Parts will probably be very recognizable for people with children.
In Good Company (2004)
It could just not keep my attention
My mind kept drifting other places whilst watching. It's a very thin story line. Meh.
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019)
Homo eroticism throughout?
A bit slow paced, but nice cinematography. Sometimes you wonder how Jesse still keeps doing things in such a stupid way; you can't help but blame the guy for his own faults. It's keeping in character with BrBa though. It actually hurts me to see nice and sympathetic Jesse with scars on his face. It's easy to feel for the guy and even though he did 'bad' things, you still think he deserves a happy ending.
Did anyone else find there's a lingering homo-eroticism throughout the entire film? It kept me own my toes, I found it a little unsettling at times.
Do watch if you're a BrBa fan, I think BrBa is one of the best series ever and enjoyed this movie as well.
