Dynasty: Everybody Loves the Carringtons (2021)
Season 4, Episode 4
10/10
I love that the show turns more to comedy
31 May 2021
In the old days we loved the over the top drama and the ridiculous but entertaining storylines, I still love the original. But it's a very good move that they turned this reboot more & more into comedy gold. Lately I laughed more watching Dynasty than watching the current sitcoms. I don't think it would work today if they played it all straight & serious, we're not in the 80s anymore. Elizabeth Gillies is really excellent in her portrayal of the daughter at the edge of nervous breakdown, dealing with the childish adults. I get why some people don't like this direction of the show, but this makes their take on the number 1 super soap of the 80s very enjoyable.

Pose: Take Me to Church (2021)
Season 3, Episode 4
10/10
A strong episode with amazing actors
21 May 2021
Especially Billy Porter who clearly deserves an Emmy for this season. And it's great to see "the church" portrayed as it is, all over the world. For some people it's a safe haven, but for too many, who don't follow ancient outdated rules, created by males, it's just oppression. This episode features both sides very strongly. And good to get another backstory for a main character. Many people don't have the slightest clue how hard it was back then, including the AIDS pandemic. A truthfull & realistic episode, heartwarming & heartbreaking.

Why don't you get it ? It's an action comedy series
12 May 2021
I find it really enjoyable because they don't take it seriously. The chemistry between Welling & Fraser is great, the Europol guy is funny, the cartoonish evil siblings are the perfect villains in this combination. I would never watch it if it was a serious show. It reminds me of the 80s, like A-Team and some of those movies back then.

Wow.. how bad can it get... after 2 good seasons
1 May 2021
These last 2 episodes were so badly written, each of the characters makes one stupid decision after another, so the story can unfold for the forced confrontation. I hoped they would not spiral down that soon, but here we have the next LOST. I'm out !

An impressing episode portraying a bitter truth
17 April 2021
I'm european and I'm white, and I rarely felt this everyday shadow hanging over POC in the US so intense. It wasn't portrayed stereotypical, the doctor wasn't beaten, it was this anxiety that was portrayed perfectly. The last episode of Grey's that touched me so strongly was when this abused woman walked through the corridor, flanked by all the female characters. I know that stupid & ignorant white people don't like this episode, because they want to escape, they just want a good medical soap opera. But this is what makes this series so extraordinary, it has so much reality & truth in the stories they tell. I'm glad the producers don't give in to that crap and tell these important stories of everyday life.

A good finale for an underrated show
15 April 2021
Sadly it got cancelled, but as we know the gods in tv heaven might show mercy and another network pics the show up. It was a funny & warm portrayal of immigrants in Canada, it was special because of good writing & a fabulous cast.

Obviously the canadian tv producers have a good hand with comedy (just like the other highlight SCHITT'S CREEK), unlike the stereotypical mainstream comedies in the US, with false laugh tracks & stories that mostly offer nothing new. I really would love to see more of these people & more quality tv like this.

Perfect Story Arc about Military vs Democracy
7 April 2021
From the beginning the series portrayed the dispute between these two factors. And in this final arc they showed in a very realistic way the outcome. When the military leaders (or political ones) don't listen to the people and think they can decide for everyone there'll be resistance and/or revolution. The greatness of this series was always the multi-layered story telling. SciFi, politics, action, personal tragedies, belief and great acting combined. A milestone of televison.

Wow..! A bunch of pussys who deserved to die
13 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
If that's what healthy young guys are today, the world is lost. The scene where they watched their friend being killed, through the door, was so unbelievable. like they don't have anything in that big house, knives, chair legs, or something else to put up a fight with some crazys that don't have guns.

A very powerful movie

Racism & Religion, go too often hand in hand, all over the world. This movie is a strong reminder that the world would be a much better place without it. the depiction in this movie is brutally honest and paints a clear picture of Australia's darkest past. Very emotional & strong

An emotional & fittingly realistic finale
27 January 2021
I know why a lot of the Winchester fans didn't like this end, but I'm glad they avoided an overly corny finale. Since it was established that only Chuck's writing made the boys survive a lot of the dangers, I liked the realistic approach regarding Dean's death. And his goodbye was still very emotional. I have to admit I never watched because of the boys, I got hooked on the series by the excellent & interesting supernatural beings, Castiel, Crowley & Lucifer, and the fantastic actors who brought those beings to live in particular. That's what I really enjoyed. And that's what made the series so special, Monster Hunters are a lot on tv.

Infinity War ~ Endgame copy
27 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The episode had it's moments, Chuck's deserved fate, the last 2 archangels gone, Jack's new way. But the main plot just was Thanos/Chuck & the snap, and then Jack snapping it back. They should have developed a more original idea after 15 seasons. This bland Marvel copy was kind of annoying.

Not as bad a some think
4 January 2021
I enjoyed this little movie, which was a little confusing, but weird and crazy enough to be an entertaining christmas movie of "another kind". Strange people and a depressed man, but also quite heartwarming with the happy end. Surely not a masterpiece, but in these crazy times, it was kind of fitting

Totally outdated.....

....film, like we are 25 years ago when being gay was still a dirty secret in some circles. Only a couple of scenes saved this from total desaster, including Dan Levys scenes.

Has it's moments, but....
25 November 2020
This paticular genre has been presented better in other movies & series. It has a strong modern Frankenstein vibe, which isn't bad. The final twist was excellent, but it's a bit dreary in parts, and sometimes repetitive. These very annoying robot voices were so out of place in the era of Siri & Alexa, like it's an 80s scifi flick, but this movie is set in the future. So... a mixed bag

Not a very convincing plot...

...To turn the british MEN OF LETTERS into some kind of ruthless Nazi Corporation. It could have developed into an interesting rivalry between the Brits & the Americans. But this is not believable. If you hunt monsters, why should other monster hunters be your worst enemy which needs to be eradicated...? Please.... NO. Stupid Plot

....does every 2nd episode one of the boys get caught & stunned ? Even by amateurs.... This is so repetitive. Come on writers, you must bring some new ideas... The finale was intriguing though. The shape of things to come

Not a bad series, but a disappointing weak & illogical finale
23 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Such a bad finale after an interesting season. The caretaker sitting useless beside a hospital bed instead of joining the big fight. Not taking the demon henchmen down in the first place... no, letting them escape to continue ( as if they are bloody newcomers, or as if they never saw a horror movie). Letting the demon baby (which isn't a baby, but just an evil entity reborn) live. It was a big disappointment, that's why I don't care if they continue with a second series or not. I can't stand inconsistant behaviour in a series where the main players are portrayed as professionals, but turn into amateurs

How often can you repeat this booooring moment ? The boys get caught while helping a victim, because they don't watch out enough. Soo repetitive after 10 seasons. Just lame writing

Wow ! They screwed up big time... Again
28 September 2020
This was really an entertaining episode. but one thing is clear the world & the people would be a better place with the Winchesters dead & gone. The boys are always pretending to do good, but in the end they produce more evil and death through the evil forces they unleash. But I still like to watch because nothing is more entertaining than evil & gore

End of a hillarious season
25 September 2020
I just discovered this series through the massive emmy success, and I love this first season. The family is so funny, especially Catherine O'Hara as Moira & Dan Levy as David. Their body language & mimic art is simply divine. I think this series is in a league with Arrested Development, and both share the starting theme of a financial crash. It is well balanced with comedy and a realness of the portrayed characters. Also the chemistry between Dan Levy & Emily Hampshire is very good. I especially enjoyed the portrayed pan-sexuality of his character, which is such a rarity in american tv culture. I'm already looking forward to the following seasons. A real comedy gem

Shocking twist, but not the first in this show
12 September 2020
Although I can understand, like with GOT, that a lot of fans want their happy end for their favourites. But I liked this twist, it was not the first time in the show that Clarke made a big sacrifice, the same that Bellamy, in his twisted mind, was willing to make here. These things happen when belief is stronger than reasoning. It was a strong episode, and Clarke displayed how hard it was for her. Their world is a dark & cruel place, and non of the people who dislike this episode would probably survive very long in it. I like the unexpected, even if it kills off characters I love. It's dark science fiction and not a soap opera.

Another excellent episode
2 August 2020
The characterisations are all spot on, the actors really delivered. The clash at the funeral between oldfashioned british lifestyle & the underprivileged black woman who made it, was delivered perfectly, as was the clash between the pink girls at the bridal shower & the cool female single girl. And it included a lot of undertones to avoid one-dimensional stereotypes. The series is getting better and clearly deserves more recognition

Back to the old unpofessional behaviour
3 July 2020
This season has been quite strong so far. But I simply can't stand it when so-called professional agents, especially the director, let their emotions get in the way. It happened before in the series, and regarding the stakes it's not tolerable. I know that they are writing this to add emotional depth to the characters, but I find this behaviour really annoying. Let's hope the rest of the season doesn't repeat this again.

Another episode with lots of humor
8 June 2020
Kavan kills it again in this episode, realizing his home country has vanished 600 years ago and then trying to become an american citizen. His portrayal of Nandor is so spot on, a perfect mixture of cute naive, sometimes bossy and a little sentimental. I love his performance, perfectly complemented by Harvey Guillen's familiar. Also the second story around Nadja's newly created vampire spawn had some very funny moments. This series is really a tv comedy gem, highly enjoyable

Entertaining callback to the Modavian Disaster
3 May 2020
I really like that the new Dynasty isn't taking itself too seriously, displaying an over-the-Top soap opera with a good amount of humour. The moldavian part of the story was hillarious with a surprising cameo. The Alexis/Fallon storyline was also funny, showing both actresses can deliver (as if we didn't know already). And don't forget, the original also went over-the-top a couple of times
