This is not a 'Conjuring' film. It's socio-political commentary. If you want jump scares, seek elsewhere. The trailer, as is toxically the case these days, make this out to be a scare-fest. It's terrifying, but only in the way that men are monsters, and create monsters from their evil deeds.
Probably not for everyone, but I was never bored, as several other comments have implied.
Those with PTSD, be warned; It can be quite triggering at times.
Superb acting, beautiful cinematography, and a creative reimagining of the La Llorona legend for the purpose of conveying a simple yet effective history lesson.
Brutally dramatic, though. So, maybe plan on queuing up a palate cleanser after.
