Quantum Leap: Temptation Eyes - February 1, 1985 (1992)
It just goes against so much
This is not ever been one of my favorite episodes, but watching this entire series over again for the umpteenth time, this one is so cringy to me. Maybe it's because as I get older I can definitely understand the appeal of this show in it's time, and the appeal of Sam Beckett. It has never really bothered me until now that Sam just leaps around having relationships and, in this episode, falls in love with someone. It has been established in the first episodes that Sam has the "Swiss cheese" memories, which usually just adds to the story in some convenient way. But, after the episode where he tries so hard to change history for himself (which is also suppose to be a big "no no") we know how much he loved Donna. So much he broke his own rules to be with her. Every episode shows what a "good" guy same is suppose to be. Literally leaping into people's lives to "set right what once went wrong". He is shown over and over trying to do the "right" thing. We even got to see him painfully remember a few episodes ago that he was married to Donna. And he had the chance to stay with her in the future, but put Al's life over his own. Yet we're just suppose to not be bothered when he falls in love with a complete stranger and is tempted to stay in the past with her?? Knowing that Donna is home, knowing the love of her life is doing all these things and is just let's him because he's helping OTHER people?? And anyone who has watched the whole series like I have, knows that Sam never comes home to her. He choses to stay "leaping" in the series finale. So, why even have the Donna story line at all? Why is Sam suppose to want to "leap home" so bad if the whole purpose of the project was to do so, and he doesn't remember he has a wife? I know it's only a tv show, and there are inconsistencies in every episode, but this one really bugged me.
Can't Hardly Wait (1998)
Breakfast club for the 90s/00s
As an 80s baby growing up on John Hughes movies, Can't Hardly Wait checked all my boxes when it came to a movie that encapsulated my high school experiences. It really is full of so many high school cliques that existed at the time. My friends and I used to love to watch it then, and 24 yrs later it is still one of my favorite movies of all time. Every time I watch it, I find something new to laugh at. I still quote it to this day.
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Stalker (2002)
Still creeps me out
Of all the CSI episodes, this one stuck with me the most. I remember being home, alone (and female!) watching this and being TERRIFIED that someone could be living in my attic stalking me. I still freak myself out some times and I don't even have an attic anymore!!
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)
Just stop
Call me a GenX cusper, an Elder Millennial, I really don't care. But, this is the worst sequel/remake/addition to this franchise. If nothing else, anyone who loves/cares about this story won't care about the "victims" because they are just another bunch of entitled kids trying to take advantage of a small town. It's not a good sign when you hope Leatherface is gonna kill a bunch of kids. Yes, I'm a fan of the og movies. They are some of the best raw, carnal horror movies. I like the 2003 remake of the original. The only "sequels" I will recognize to the original '74 classic are "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" '86 and "Texas Chainsaw 3D" 2013. This entire movie was a waste if my time.
Better Watch Out (2016)
No matter what you think it is, it isn't
I would have NEVER watched this movie just based on the description. I saw a review that made it seem worth watching, and STILL, I was surprised at the twists!!! I hate christmas and I am always looking for horror christmas movies, and this was a pleasant surprise!
