For a Certainty God Made Him Lord and Christ (2015)
A very moving Bible based drama, loved it. Very thought provoking
Beautiful, unpretentious drama based purely on Holy Scripture, I loved it! Check the Bible accounts for yourself, this makes them come alive and jump off the page. I love the minimal sets, so I can concentrate on what Jesus said and did!
Snatched (2017)
Oh dear Goldie
I normally love Goldie Hawn films and so this promised to be a funny film. The steady stream of moronic profanity got to me in the end. I stopped watching. Still love you Goldie, just not this one. Be careful what you sign up for!
Audacity (2015)
Beware of Propaganda
I do admire anyone who speaks "from the heart" and listens to his Bible trained conscience; Ray Comfort appears to do both. I have also seen his persuasive "Evolution V God" video. It seems that our education system teaches people to not think for themselves, watch it and see the "penny drop" with these University science lecturers and students!
With regard to "Audacity", let's get this straight. Everyone that has posted reviews has actually paid the $19.99 and seen this movie all of the way through without prejudice? Is it possible that some have been told what to think by a convincing pro-immorality entertainment industry and a society that has become part of the propaganda machine? Hmmm. "Do not be misled" 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (Please read these three verses before you comment)
Jehovah's Witnesses Stand Firm Against Nazi Assault (1996)
The only volunteers in Nazi concentration camps?
The only volunteers in Nazi concentration camps
The Nazi officers and the ordinary Wehrmacht soldiers had to go where they were sent, if they were assigned to Sachsenhausen, that's where they had to go. The poor Jewish prisoners were savagely rounded up and shipped in appalling conditions. The only way they could get out of the camp was by dying in the gas chambers! There was however a small group who were repeatedly offered their "freedom", all they had to do was to sign a document renouncing their faith, stating that the Bible was a false doctrine. They had to accept Hitler as their Fuhrer or leader and accept the Nazi party as the highest authority in their lives. Bear in mind they were living in the most inhumane conditions devised by man. Would you have been tempted? If they refused to sign they were threatened with death, and not a simple quick death either! Torture was commonplace in these demonic death camps and this group were targeted because of their refusal to go along with Nazi edicts. This group were true Christians who refused to worship anyone other than the true God and his anointed Son Jesus Christ! They spoke to others about Bible teachings at every opportunity, and the Nazis hated them for their "subversive" activity. The Nazis wanted to control everyone in Germany and wanted to extinguish every voice of opposition to their brutal totalitarian and racist rulership. Who were this one group who had a "get out of jail free" card but didn't use it? Jehovah's Witnesses. Find out some facts about them on www.jw.org or please speak to them the next time they call. Jehovah's Witnesses: The Organization Behind the Name (1992)
Surprising and impressive
This film about the Jehovah's Witness Organisation is both surprising and impressive. Surprising, because I didn't realise that this was such a worldwide and totally united brotherhood. They really do love each other, just as Jesus commanded. Impressive, because they all work toward exactly the same goal with no in-fighting. There aren't different versions of JWs in each country (unlike many churches).
They seem very well funded, by anonymous voluntary donations, never any embarrassing collections or financial appeals. They are politically neutral, they vote for Gods Kingdom. They will not go to war or deliberately hurt another human being.
Watch it; it seems to me that these people are acting like true Christians as a united worldwide organisation, quite amazing and encouraging.
Coach Carter (2005)
Teaching Discipline and Values really Works
Coach Carter is an admirable giant of a man and I enjoyed this film tremendously! I love the way that he knew what his team of young men needed and then he stuck to his plan. In spite of phenomenal pressure to back down, he had them sign a contract that forced them to change their attitudes to the game and ultimately to life itself. The team were mainly "lost" young men whose lives were being dictated by their peers and circumstances, but CC had the solution. He helped them to learn respect for themselves and their community.
In the end, I felt that this film was about understanding and teaching life values to a group who had lost their way. Once the team realised that the reason he was doing these things was because he cared about them, they began to bond and then acted like a proper team.
In society today, we sadly see a breakdown in discipline and respect in the home and at school, it inevitably leads to unhappiness and misery for everyone concerned (read 2 Timothy 3:1-5).
Today, many parents want their kids to be their friend first and so rarely say no to them, what the youngster really needs is a loving parent and firm guidance! Firm, loving discipline and relevant encouragement always works out for the best; our youngsters feel safer and they thrive knowing that we care about them don't they? They then grow into much more rounded and productive members of society. Most people who have seen this film have felt the warmth that Ken Carter had for his team and the way that he helped them realise their potential as men. What a great example for any of us who are teachers or parents.

The Weather Man (2005)
The Weatherman
I like Nicholas Cage in many of his films; this is definitely not one of them. I read previous reviews and thought this would be a nice, thought provoking film to take my wife and daughter to. From the word go, Dave Spritz (Cage) is morose and lacklustre. For goodness sake Dave, you are earning $240,000 a year as a TV weatherman! This is not a demanding job, maybe two hours a day, that's all. How any people can only dream of that type of job? Is he grateful and content with his lot in life
.no way.
The language steadily got worse from occasional Fs to a continuous tirade of F this and F that
hmm! Then his daughter's 12 year old friend calls someone a C, then says C again
Wow, I could not stand this any more of this! I asked my wife if she and my daughter were enjoying the film. They agreed that it was puerile, embarrassing and depressing and we all stood up and walked out.
I have never done that in a movie before, but this really was absolute rubbish "junk food" for the brain. I cannot understand anyone liking this film
is it me? The cinema manager was very understanding and said that she had hated the film too; she apologised and gave me three complimentary tickets. Next time I will try to be more discerning.
When films like this are hailed as being realistic portrayals of modern society; I really despair for society! If this is art
you can keep it! Thanks for listening.
