All of you are misunderstanding the point.
14 May 2020
This show is essentially a tamer creation compared to J.J.'s previous show, King Star King. I got introduced to his work through a recent interview done by animation buff RebelTaxi. I liked the first episode, it's a short and fun retelling of Repunzel with a Gory twist. The writers were essentially limited in contrast from King Star King, Limit the profanities, No religious jokes, No sexual content. And granted, they found their own creative ways around these boundaries. I'll be checking out this show as it evolves through the year!

Don't Look for Houses without reading the ToS!
29 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is like the live action remake of the Dimmadome Acres episode of Fairly Odd Parents, where all the houses look the same and there's little to no way out of it. With the aspect of you're the only one there, forced to raise a child to adulthood, and accepting the realization that you live in hell. I love how this movie packs so much in its 1h 30m timeline. Yet all of that time could've made for a better second half, one with revenge outside of loss. This was one of the films I was looking forward to seeing in 2020, yet was unfortunately unable to by the widespread pandemic we're facing globally. I guess there's a little bit of that irony in the writing. But regardless, it wasn't amazing but it wasn't awful. I liked the concept but I feel like they could've explored it way more than how they ended up doing.

AN ALRIGHT MOVIE AND HERE'S WHY
27 April 2020
This film is bound to strike viewers by showing really disturbing scenes & a disjointed beginning. But the further on you can see fragments of the full picture. It's left to you the viewer to digest (no pun intended) and collect the pieces. This film might be a little 'The Invisible Man' and a little 'Wetlands'. But it's executed in just a way where everything makes sense. And I would like you to be the judge of the film, some will love the movie, and some will hate it. And this film is bound to strike conversations and theories after first watch, so give it a try!

An Underdeveloped Mixed Bag of an Installment
10 April 2020
For starters, i've been a fan of silent hill for years, i've always loved the atmosphere and stories lying behind the games and I have always wanted a good film adaption. This film could've been so much better with a different team behind it, one who actually cared about bringing these complex worlds to the big screen. Silent Hill Revelation is a high budget cash grab. With people in their late 20's playing High Schoolers, a story that gets lost in the lore of the games, and (sometimes) enjoyable tense scenes with the creatures. My favorite scene from the film had to be the Nurses, which felt thrown in yet delivered promise to an already broken film. This movie could've been a great adaption to Silent Hill 3, yet they didn't care enough to give it the treatment it deserves.

Anything but Anti Conservative propoganda lmao
13 March 2020
The witt with this movie comes from the fact that the smart ones play stupid and the stupid ones play smart. Imagine The Hunger Games with a bit of Hide and Seek. And that's what this movie is. The liberals play the bad guys, and the conservatives play the good guys. Which was anything BUT how the right wing media outlets portrayed it as. The acting from the protagonist Betty Gilpin is one of the best things about this movie! She took her role and absolutely ran with it. Where the film does fall flat is from it's extremely predictable plotline. Which copies from various thriller films made in the past. Overall I liked this movie! It was dark comedy with a strong politically charged twist.

The whole idea is rehashed and the personalities are pretty one note but IT'S SO HARD NOT TO KEEP WATCHING WHAT THE HELL. I'm not getting married after watching this.

Fantastically Heartwarming Short from Pixar
9 February 2020
I absolutely love the simplicity of it all. An autistic girl named Renee and a boy named Marcus, finding a way to understand one another. And all in all, it's a tale of patience and understanding. Not to mention how beautifully executed the whole thing was. One thing I would prefer happening is more insight on Renee's character as a whole. Overall this was a great short!

Review, from someone who ACTUALLY saw the movie!
7 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I'll just go straight for it, if you're going to downvote this review for defending a genuinely entertaining violent film, i get that. Literally just WATCH THE MOVIE! This movie is anything but a "men are trash" movie. It's a fun flick about a heist where it's all knives at eachothers throats. Genuinely formulaic at times, sure, but that's practically a given for these types of films! Margot Robbie gave a fantastic performance as the Quinn herself, and the side characters had their moments as well! Gotta give a FAT shoutout to McGregor for his role. He brought just as much flame and fire as Margot gave her role. Go ahead and do yourself a favor. This is a good ass time to watch!

The Grudge (2019)

If you're expecting a full fleshed out ode to the original, it's not here!
3 January 2020
The Grudge remake presented here is one of simple structure and a tale of three stories. And it's a beautiful mix of bizarre and cheesiness. The cinematography is fleshed out in murky green coloring and darkened blood. The acting is nothing Oscar worthy but it serves it's purpose for the story. I liked this one! But I do wish the characters did more to believe the main. (Rating is Closer to a 7 than a 9)

Interesting follow up to the Short
23 July 2019
This film has presented a unique story with grand cinematography and an eerily tense score. While it might not be an all out masterpiece it still presents an interesting film that's as powerful as it is ambitious. Alike to American History X, the main protagonist is an ex skinhead who meets the love of his life and wants to switch his ways. Definitely a must watch for fans of A24 and a decent Drama film.

A Damn Interesting Take on Psychopathic Behavior!
19 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
'One Hour Photo' is a movie I am glad I saw. Not only because of the story, but the sound design also contributed to the overall vibe! The story consisted of Sy, a pure good intentioned film developer, obsessing over a specific family that he's developed photos of for years. This leads to him finding more information about them, Stalking them, and then exploiting them.

What I love the most about Robin's character, is how he brings a humane charm to such a secretive, sick individual. And at times he might have a short temper, but he's always kind and well mannered. This all changes with a sudden spark of anger. He comes across a photo of the father and another woman together. This eventually leads to more stalking, a greater mental decline, and him getting fired from his job!

Now if you're into Psychological thrillers, you should definitely give this movie a shot! Whether it's for Robin's striking performance, or Brian Emrich's spectacular sound design. But overall at times the acting felt by the numbers and the story fell flat for a moment. But 'One Hour Photo' is a movie I won't forget about and will look back on for years to come!

Rest In Peace Robin, see you in heaven!

Oh BOY!
10 February 2019
This film right here, it's by far one of the most surreal, nihilistic, & sexual theatrical experiences i've had. And that's kind of what makes it good? Aside from the confusing story, where this film takes the crown is it's unpredictability and it's cinematography. We Are The Flesh is just as confusing as it is shocking & beautiful. That being said, the plot itself lacks substance and an actual direction. If the ending could clear up how all of this takes place a little more, it'd make this experience a lot more complete.
