Expedition with Steve Backshall (2019)
Unique
They venture into some remote and beautiful places. I'm hoping for more locations in future! Inspiring television.
Australia in Colour (2019)
Interesting footage
Interesting footage, but pretty miserable take on twentieth century Australia.
Seven Worlds One Planet: Africa (2019)
Too good!
Great to look at and incredible stories. Seriously, you couldn't make some of this up. A fish that keeps her (and 'enemy') eggs safe eggs in her mouth until they hatch!? And the smoothest and most skillful camerawork imaginable. Nature docos have come a long way.
Seven Worlds One Planet: Australia (2019)
Beautiful. Fascinating. Condescending.
Spectacular and gorgeous footage, often of scenes rarely filmed before. Shows natural Australia in a new light; (the cassowary on the beach retreating into the rainforest is magnificent!) Could do without the obligatory shaming downer at the end though. We know the planet is suffering due to humanity's actions. The preceding 45 minutes should be enough to stress the importance of conservation to anyone with half a brain. Perhaps they may have mentioned Tasmanian devils did actually become extinct on the mainland centuries before Europeans 'with their guns' arrived.
