Non-Conventional musical wins you over
29 December 2007
I went and saw Sweeny Todd tonight at the movie theater. I am a pretty big fan of musicals, like Grease and various Disney movies. Musicals are generally really cheery and bright. This movie put an interesting twist on the idea of a musical by putting a dark perspective on it. I initially did not want to give it a shot because I did not like the idea of a dark musical. However, it was the only movie I had left to see in theaters so I went. It was surprisingly awesome. The music and lyrics were well written and sung terrifically. The composer did a great job mixing the music to the action in the movie. Also, the plot was well devised, although a bit predictable at the end in my opinion. The colors in the movie are also done interestingly. The contrasting darks and lights are very intriguing. It was all very well put together and a great movie. "A must see," especially if you like musicals and gore.

Surprisingly Good Comedy for someone who usually plays a side-kick
25 December 2007
I had the pleasure of making it out to the movie theatre this Christmas to go and see a movie. I was shocked too hear my Aunt suggest Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, but there it was. I went to see it with my entire family and some extended family.

Initially, I had heard nothing about the films, nothing from friends ore acquaintances who had seen it before me. After seeing various trailers, I was under the impression it was just another horrible farce movie like Date Movie or The Comebacks. This wasn't the case at all. It did have a few references to Ray and was an overall farce of Walk the Line, but it was not over the top at all with it. It was actually a shock to see how good John C. Reilly's voice was. Also, I may add that Jenna Fischer was stunningly beautiful and did great in her role (I don't think it was her singing though).

There are several lines that had me laughing through entire scenes. I was even surprised to turn to my mother and aunt, who were laughing along with me. I was actually in tears from one specific part.

My only disappointment was that the movie started a little slow. The comedy at first was kind of juvenile ad weird. However, once the movie got rolling it was fantastically hysterical.

Decent Zombie Flick
15 December 2007
Well I took a day off from studying for my finals last night and went to see I Am Legend with the girlfriend. I guess I will go with the good before what I thought could have been better.

Will Smith as always was superb. His acting was great and you could really feel his pain at various points in the movie. Furthermore, the CGI and scenes of an abandonded New York were amazing. It really gave you an insight to what a city might look like if it became completely uninhabited. The plot development was pretty good, with a tiny bit of holes here and there that left me unsatisfied. The ending was rather abrupt as well. Also, I for the life of me, cannot understand how zombies, who were humans at one point, have superhuman strength. How in the world does that make any sense?

It all depends on what you are looking for if you I would recommend this film. If you are looking for a horror movie and want to be frightened. Go see it. If you want to see an insight into what the world would be like if a massive portion of the population was killed. Go see it. But if you want to see Will Smith in a well-written movie, with great story development, and a complete plot. I would say wait till it comes out on DVD and judge for yourself, cause I don't think it was.

This movie is good. Hey everyone, come and see how good this movie is.
7 December 2007
My favorite movie ever. Its Will Ferrel up to his usual shenanigans. I laughed the entire way through this movie, so much that I had to see it a second time to catch all of the jokes. The reason I like it so much, is that its such an easy movie to quote.

If you like low level humor that can be crude at times, this one is for you. Do not expect a super plot or a twist, its a comedy. You will laugh so hard you will get that feeling that you cannot breath.

The movie features comedy all stars like Will Ferrel, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, and David Coechner who team up together and make a perfect comedy team in this classic comedy.

Sweet and Sour
7 December 2007
"The sweet is never as sweet without the sour." This quote was essentially the theme for the movie in my opinion. Tom Cruise plays a young man who was handed everything in his life. He takes things for granted and it comes around full swing in this great movie with a superb twist. This film will keep you engaged in the plot and unable to pause it to take a bathroom break.

Its a movie that really makes you step back and look at your life and how you live it. You cannot really appreciate the better things in life (the sweet), like love, until you have experienced the bad (the sour). The theme will really get you to "open your eyes".

Only complaint is that the movie gets very twisted at points and is hard to really understand. I think the end is perfect though. I recommend you watch it and see for yourself.

Enchanted (2007)

Disney does it again
7 December 2007
I am a huge sucker for Disney movies, and why not? Disney time and time again produces fantastic movies. Enchanted is no exception.

Amy Adams does a great job acting as the soon to be princess in a fantasy life lost in the real world. She is constantly cheery and surprisingly a decent singer.

The movie is full of humor and moments that sweet you off your feet in excitement. There is a great plot with a lot of things happening to keep the viewer watching. Definitely a must see, fun for the whole family movie. My only complaint is that it took a little bit for the humor to finely kick in about mid-beginning of the movie.
