A Conversation with Cometan | S1E6 | Eschatology & Soteriology of Astronism
A Special Episode of A Conversation with Cometan has arrived and includes the most recent lecture given by Cometan to a series of bachelor degree student engaged in scholarship on theology. The lecture is titled The Eschatology & Soteriology of Astronism. This lecture was given on Tuesday 12th January 2021 remotely due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the UK.
Following on from his lecture titled Astronism: A Space Religion, Cometan in this lecture delivers an overview of Astronist beliefs and the philosophical fundamentals of Astronism (including astronality, astrotheism, depadotheism etc.), but then goes into further depth regarding the soteriological (salvational) and eschatological topics of the Astronist religion. The connection between the processes of astrosis and cosmosis with human redemption are explored in the form of transcension as is the physical, spiritual and intellectual ascension of humanity to the stars. Additionally, Cometan reasserts the origins of Astronism as part of a broader tradition of religion called the Astronic tradition which holds Palaeolithic origins at least around 40,000 BCE.
