Sir Jinx & Gerald Levert feat. Madd KD "Pic-A-Nic" - ENHANCED AUDIO
This ENHANCED AUDIO video, directed by award-winning filmmaker, Chip Miller, was one of the final projects from the late Gerald Levert, who passed away shortly after this video collaboration with rap producer, Sir Jinx. Gerald and his brother formed the successful r&b group, Levert, then along with Keith Sweat and Johnny Gill, formed the supergroup LSG. Levert was the son of Eddie Levert, who was lead singer of the classic r&b & soul vocal group The O'Jays. Sir jinx was in the rap group, C.I.A. with Ice Cube and K-Dee. Through Jinx, Ice Cube came into contact with Dr. Dre and became a part of N.W.A. When Cube left N.W.A and Ruthless Records, Sir Jinx went with Cube, producing & mixing his first album, "AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted." Jinx produced the "Boyz n the Hood" soundtrack single, "How To Survive In South Central," performed by Ice Cube. Sir Jinx produced Cube's next three albums, as well as rapper Yo-Yo's first two albums. He became the first West Coast rap producer to work on an East Coast album, Kool G Rap's Live And Let Die, and he created remixes for rap-rock outfits such as Rage Against the Machine. Jinx later produced several r&b solo acts such as CeCe Peniston, Isaac Hayes, Teena Marie, former Bell Biv Devoe member Ricky Bell, and Gerald Levert. Guest rapper and lyricist, MADD KD, makes an appearance in the video, as does singer Crystal Glass and Rappin' Granny. Produced by Travis Miller for Red Hots Productions for Raging Bull Records and record producer, Joe Isgro, the video featured a 100 extras at a simulated soul picnic shot on location in the Burbank Hills and at the Starlight Amphitheater. Bryan Greenberg was DP/Main Cameraman, and the clip was edited by Travis Miller and Chip Miller. Several years later, Miller would direct MADD KD's debut music video, "Hoola Hoop" for Miller's current production company, Desert C.A.M. Studios.
