When the Dust Settles
Set in a decaying northern seaside town Ed discovers that the loyalties he once felt for the community have left him. Friends and relatives, bitter towards his success and ambitions have moved on. Disappointed by the stagnation of the community Ed sets about recalling the area by himself; evoking happy memories of times with his friends, considering his own childhood. Focussing on themes such as immaturity, loss, acceptance, friendship and the family, 'When the Dust Settles' portrays a character coming to terms with a loss, and remembering happier times.
The film was screened at Encounters 2011, the London Short Film Festival and won awards for BBC Best of The North and Best Cinematography at Exposures 2012.
