Natalie Metzger Reel
Natalie Metzger is an award-winning filmmaker whose work explores the dark, surreal side of human nature and is recognized for being "visually rich and thoughtful".
Her directing credits include Barely (2012), winner of the Jury Award for Best Director at the L-Dub Film Festival; For Water (2010), nominated for Best Short and Best Experimental Film at the Female Eye Film Festival in Toronto; and Surgeon General's Warning (2011), official selection of festivals across the USA and France. Metzger is currently in production for the healthcare documentary Special Blood, in development for the social documentary Invisible Chains: The Slave Children of Ghana, and in development for science fiction thriller Immortal. She recently completed ARENA (2014), a “fierce study in human conflictâ€�.
Metzger’s producing credits include Sacrament (2014), a dance film about cult mentality that she created and executive produced based on her award-winning stage work; The Empty Morning (2014) by Romanian filmmaker Carina Tautu; and Out of Her Element (2013) by Diane Lansing. She is currently producing Southern thriller The Beautiful Dead (winner of Script Pipeline’s First Look Contest), romantic thriller Electric Lights, and music documentary Chasing Jules.
In the advertising world, she associate produced the PSA An Ordinary Day (2012), winner of a Gold Aurora Award; directed Discover (2013), a commercial for the Verdi Chorus; and produced Susan & Rose (2014), a commercial for Caregivers. She was recently selected to direct a PSA for Camp Kesem.
Metzger holds a Master of Fine Arts from California Institute of the Arts and a Bachelor of Arts from Emory University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude and received the Sudler Award in the Arts and the Pioneer Award.
