TV Trailblazer Ryan Murphy

by yrnej | created - 23 Jun 2018 | updated - 23 Jun 2018 | Public

Writer, director, producer Ryan Murphy is being honored at the 2018 VH1 Trailblazer Awards, alongside author James Baldwin, the parents of Trayvon Martin and the ACLU organization. Since the '90s Murphy has created TV shows and films with a dual purpose - to entertain, of course, and to exercise his commitment to minority representation in mainstream media. His most recent project is Pose (2018), set in the NYC ball scene of the late '80s, and it stars the largest cast of transgender actors ever.
