Star Wars : actors to play a younger Han Solo in a spin off movie

Certainly looks a lot like Harrison Ford, but maybe not tough enough? ... Having said that, he certainly showed his mettle in Battle LA. A consistently good actor in all that I have seen him in, including Batman.

Ethan could find an ultimate role. This could be the one for him.

A wild card choice perhaps?

A fine actor who performed superbly in Watchmen.

Probably an outsider as he has already played Wolverine for Disney/Marvel, but never say never. Talking of which, I think he would make a great 007, as well as Han Solo.

Liam's name has been mentioned as possibly in the running.

Maybe stereotyped as an evil character rather than hero, but who knows. Without doubt one of the very best of the younger actors currently around.

Maybe another outsider, but he could be good for the part if looking for a much younger actor.

His brother has proved himself as Thor, now maybe Liam gets an ultimate Scifi role for himself? He was very good in Expendables 2.

An outsider perhaps, but a contender all the same.

Maybe many would regard Max as an outsider for Solo's role, but without doubt a top level actor with familiar looks to the original Han.

If you are looking for the loveable cheeky rogue, then Bradley fits the part perfectly. He certainly fits the personality attributes of Han Solo, and he has considerable box office appeal and popularity. He’s demonstrated a mixture of keeping calm under pressure, cockiness and wise-cracking. This is everything Han Solo is all about, and of course, he’s also a ladies man, which is kind of a given for the role. He also happens to be a very bankable star right now.

Already been in Indiana Jones with Harrison, but still a worthy choice.

Gerard has all the tough qualities needed to play Solo.

The big question to ask is whether JJ is prepared to stick his neck out and have Chris play Solo as well as Kirk... The rest just doesn't matter.

The lookalike is clearly evident, but whether he meets ALL of the requirements is another matter of course. In some photos he looks a dead ringer.

A popular actor, proven in a range of roles to dates.

Jeremy is reaching his dizzy heights of fame and his selection could hit the mark. A bankable star in Bourne, Hurt Locker, Hansel and Gretel etc. to date. He may just have what it takes to fit the role.

Another outsider due to his Fantastic 4 connection perhaps?

Already proved himself for the Marvel stable. A suitable choice as he's great playing the tough, adventurous guy.

Probably too old to be cast as they are looking for a younger actor if rumours are to be believed, but he shouldn't be ruled out at any rate.

Not my top choice, but he could at least be in the running for the role.

I don't know much about him, but rumoured to be a suitable choice for the role of Han Solo. I hear Mad Men has been well acclaimed.

He was hero of the moment in GI Joe. Maybe he was killed off in the franchise to be the next Han Solo?

There's been a number of rumours already.

I would definitely like to see his screen test for the role of Solo, but I personally think he would be a much better choice in Episode VII as a son of Solo or Skywalker who, as a dark jedi, turns to the darkside.

Maybe too closely associated with Thor?

Proved himself time and time again - probably the best example for this role would be his Scifi performance in Lockout. He meets the challenge.

There's been many rumours already surrounding Nat's selection, but I can only think of Serenity, which for me was a movie I'd rather forget!! I was shocked to discover it was Joss Whedon behind it, who went on to direct the brilliant Avengers Assemble movie. Nat is not my choice I'm afraid, but I wanted to include him here all the same due to all the rumours.

Definitely a good actor, but I'm still not sure why everyone raves about him being a great potential Han Solo. I just don't think Solo is the role for him, but I hope he could prove me wrong if he was finally chosen, or find a suitable role in at least one of the Star Wars movies. I think he's much better suited to the baddie role, as he was in GI Joe. Certainly not my first choice by any means. The choice for a new generation perhaps? ... IMHO I think it's all about hype - He's obviously got a good agent promoting him, and there's no harm in that - but for one thing, he doesn't even resemble Han Solo, and I reckon there are many more suitable actors out there for the role – please see above!!
