Only in a technical level we can talk about what is good and what is bad but upon personal preference we cannot... I'm going to put the films higher or lower judging how accurate they are towards the books

FEEL THE MAGIC The first Hp instalation is a masterpiece both in paper and in celuloid. Everything is here , there's nothing left off. Nowaday this is already a classic , an unforggetable fantasy tale from everyone's childhood. This'll be praised for decades to come as a milestone in modern fantasy cinema. A must for every cinema lover , regardless of HP-related stuff.

2. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)

Director: Chris Columbus | Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Richard Harris

Votes: 692,639 | Gross: $261.99M

Far more darker than the first...there's the absence of the warm feel of the first one and the sense of desolation and danger impregnates this film of a curios feel to it.Hard to describe the greatness of this film.Almost a tie with the first one , truly magic coming out of the screen. A must for every cinema lover , regardless of HP- related stuff.

3. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)

PG | 142 min | Adventure, Family, Fantasy

82 Metascore

Director: Alfonso Cuarón | Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Richard Griffiths

Votes: 691,867 | Gross: $249.36M

Alfonso Cuarón is a master indeed. The set decoration , the soundtrack, the improved acting of the three children (now teens) the atmosphere and even the feel this film has makes it a gem for HP fans. Virtually anything is left off from the book. Highly Recomended.

4. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)

PG-13 | 157 min | Adventure, Family, Fantasy

81 Metascore

Harry Potter finds himself competing in a hazardous tournament between rival schools of magic, but he is distracted by recurring nightmares.

Director: Mike Newell | Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Eric Sykes

Votes: 681,815 | Gross: $290.01M

Superb film indeed. The only thing i'd point out is that this is the moment when the series loses it's fidelity to the books and it's overall quality of the first three filmi. You can notice some glitches that later will ruin The Order Of The Phoenix (kissing scenes and stuff). Although favoring teen audiences the most , the film is very faithfull to the book and overall has a hardshell quality. Very Good film.

5. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010)

PG-13 | 146 min | Adventure, Family, Fantasy

65 Metascore

As Harry, Ron and Hermione race against time and evil to destroy the Horcruxes, they uncover the existence of the three most powerful objects in the wizarding world: the Deathly Hallows.

Director: David Yates | Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Bill Nighy

Votes: 599,390 | Gross: $295.98M

Part 1 what Part 2 lacks. The opressive and ominous atmosphere of desolation and despair is always there. Very Good films indeed.

6. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011)

PG-13 | 130 min | Adventure, Family, Fantasy

85 Metascore

Harry, Ron, and Hermione search for Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes in their effort to destroy the Dark Lord as the final battle rages on at Hogwarts.

Director: David Yates | Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Michael Gambon

Votes: 948,926 | Gross: $381.01M

This films was OK. The key moments were there but not in the way the fans of the books expected it , instead this was presented in a way people who didn't read the books but watched the earlier films expected it...and somewhat could enjoy them. The final moments seems rushed and souless , but overall it's quite enjoyable.

7. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)

PG | 153 min | Action, Adventure, Family

78 Metascore

As Harry Potter begins his sixth year at Hogwarts, he discovers an old book marked as "the property of the Half-Blood Prince" and begins to learn more about Lord Voldemort's dark past.

Director: David Yates | Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Michael Gambon

Votes: 595,842 | Gross: $301.96M

I didn't particulary like this films. It's far away from the geniousness of the first HP filmi and it gave me the impression of a stray cat in the night. The entire films seems lost and somewhat pointless , the only relevant thing that happens is the infamous death in the end. If you read the books , watch upon your own risk. If you didn't read the books , Dumbledore dies in the end , now slip to HP Part 1.

8. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007)

PG-13 | 138 min | Action, Adventure, Family

71 Metascore

With their warning about Lord Voldemort's return scoffed at, Harry and Dumbledore are targeted by the Wizard authorities as an authoritarian bureaucrat slowly seizes power at Hogwarts.

Director: David Yates | Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Brendan Gleeson

Votes: 633,548 | Gross: $292.00M

This was indeed a joke. The longest and most intrincate book results in a plain-simplistic, hollow and children-early teen audience oriented full of comical reliefs which kill the opressive atmosphere. The key moments were poorly executed and tons of events were cutted off the film in order to give space to Twilightesque moments like harry kissing cho and stuff. Voldemort's battle against Dumbledore was nice too.
