This is not to reflect that some of these are not good movies. I have seen them and do not desire to see them again.

Votes: 15,873 | Gross: $16.35M

I have never been able to accept John Wayne turning his back on someone and getting shot in the back.

2. The Beguiled (1971)

R | 105 min | Drama, Thriller, War

While recuperating in a Confederate girls' boarding school, a Union soldier cons his way into each of the lonely women's hearts, causing them to turn on each other, and eventually, on him.

Director: Don Siegel | Stars: Clint Eastwood, Geraldine Page, Elizabeth Hartman, Jo Ann Harris

Votes: 19,224

Clint Eastwood says this is one of his favorite moves so I guess it was a personal project. I got hooked into watching is as did a lot of viewers because it was sold as a Clint Eastwood western and it was not. I did not care for the ending.

3. White Hunter Black Heart (1990)

PG | 112 min | Adventure, Drama

66 Metascore

A thinly fictionalized account of a legendary movie director, whose desire to hunt down an animal turns into a grim situation with his movie crew in Africa.

Director: Clint Eastwood | Stars: Clint Eastwood, Jeff Fahey, Charlotte Cornwell, Norman Lumsden

Votes: 13,226 | Gross: $2.32M

I am aware of the story behind shooting African Queen. I just felt for my own opinion that Clint Eastwood was not the right person to play the John Huston role.

4. Brewster McCloud (1970)

R | 105 min | Comedy, Crime, Fantasy

72 Metascore

An introverted loner living in the bowels of the Astrodome plots to develop - with the aid of a mysterious guardian angel - a pair of wings that will help him fly.

Director: Robert Altman | Stars: Bud Cort, Shelley Duvall, Sally Kellerman, Michael Murphy

Votes: 5,609 | Gross: $1.05M

It says comedy and fantasy but when I saw it in the base theater when I was in the Navy, I'm glad I only spent 25 cents to see it. I am and was a resident of Houston and I missed it the thirty years I was away until I returned so I wanted a chance to see some of my home town. As I said, I did not see much funny about it and I did not get the fantasy part of it. I did not get it the first time and have no intention of seeing it again to understand it better.

Stars: Timothy Olyphant, Ian McShane, Molly Parker, Brad Dourif

Votes: 117,731

I like realism in a western and really enjoyed Hell On Wheels. I think they went overboard with a lot of the elements in Deadwood. The old west was a pretty rough place to be and I think a better job was done with Hell On Wheels. HOW was also a western that broke new ground for the western.

7. Car 54, Where Are You? (1994)

PG-13 | 89 min | Comedy

10 Metascore

Director: Bill Fishman | Stars: David Johansen, John C. McGinley, Fran Drescher, Nipsey Russell

Votes: 4,550 | Gross: $1.24M

I watched the original TV series and thoroughly enjoyed it and still remember some of the episodes. I got this thinking it would be like the series and it wasn't even close. It was an exercise in endurance and richly deserves it place in lists noting the worst movies ever made. I hope it did not hurt the careers of the actors who were in this exercise in futility.

8. America 3000 (1986)

PG-13 | 92 min | Action, Adventure, Comedy

Director: David Engelbach | Stars: Chuck Wagner, Laurene Landon, William Wallace, Sue Giosa

Votes: 1,571

This movie was a piece of garbage that was not even funny. Clearly it was a movie for those who enjoy movies with endless sexual joked and imagery. I can appreciate the somewhat risque but at least that has the chance to be funny. There was nothing funny about this.

9. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

G | 149 min | Adventure, Sci-Fi

84 Metascore

After uncovering a mysterious artifact buried beneath the Lunar surface, a spacecraft is sent to Jupiter to find its origins: a spacecraft manned by two men and the supercomputer HAL 9000.

Director: Stanley Kubrick | Stars: Keir Dullea, Gary Lockwood, William Sylvester, Daniel Richter

Votes: 719,989 | Gross: $56.95M

I will probably hurt some people's feelings but after even watching it twice, I just did not get it. I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but watching this was like watching paint dry in a lot of places. The only thing I got out of it was that two astronauts were going to another planet and HAL the computer took over the ship and they had to fight for their lives against HAL.

10. The Teacher (1974)

R | 98 min | Drama, Thriller

An explosively tense story about a beautiful, provocative 28-year-old high school teacher whose seduction of one particular student proves fatal.

Director: Howard Avedis | Stars: Angel Tompkins, Jay North, Anthony James, Marlene Schmidt

Votes: 1,132

I only saw this movie once because my then wife wanted to see it. It was made on the cheap and it showed. One of the reasons I did not like it was the ending and I am not going any further with that. It could have been better with improvement in the writing, directing, and production values. Jay North was panned in this performance but i think he thought this would help him break into parts of having grown up. It looks like he did the best he could with what he had. He did not look comfortable with the part. Unfortunately, this did not help him achieve that goal. Anthony James is one of those actors who can really play the psycho successfully. I am sure the involvement of Angel Tompkins and Jay North was to help attract financial backing of which more of the same was needed.

11. Paths of Glory (1957)

Approved | 88 min | Drama, War

90 Metascore

After a failed attack on a German position, a general orders three soldiers, chosen at random, court-martialed for cowardice and their commanding officer must defend them.

Director: Stanley Kubrick | Stars: Kirk Douglas, Ralph Meeker, Adolphe Menjou, George Macready

Votes: 212,383

I have no complaints about this movie and it is one that everyone should see. Kirk Douglas is what we call a JAG officer who is ordered to provide a defense for four men picked at random to be executed because the entire unit refused to make another charge into the machine gun fire during trench warfare in World War 1. The command corp was still fighting the Franco Prussian war aided by modern technology thus turning the front into a meat grinder. As Colonel Dax (Douglas) works his way up the chain of command he is shocked at the callous disregard that the command has for the soldiers. To them, the soldiers are pieces on a chess board and there is no concern of the many that are dying daily. The command is having banquets and luncheons everyday in their spit and polish uniforms and do not go to the front anymore than they have to. As I said, it is an excellent must see movie but once is enough for me, thank you.

12. Jeepers Creepers (2001)

R | 90 min | Horror, Mystery

49 Metascore

A brother and sister driving home through isolated countryside for spring break encounter a flesh-eating creature which is in the midst of its ritualistic eating spree.

Director: Victor Salva | Stars: Gina Philips, Justin Long, Jonathan Breck, Patricia Belcher

Votes: 142,632 | Gross: $37.90M

I did not mind the movie and it kept me and my then girlfriend glued to our seats all the way to the end. I guess I am old school to like happy endings and I did not like the ending of this one at all. I watched the sequel and was not impressed by it either.

13. All the President's Men (1976)

PG | 138 min | Drama, History, Thriller

84 Metascore

"The Washington Post" reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein uncover the details of the Watergate scandal that leads to President Richard Nixon's resignation.

Director: Alan J. Pakula | Stars: Dustin Hoffman, Robert Redford, Jack Warden, Martin Balsam

Votes: 126,114 | Gross: $70.60M

My then wife and I saw this when it was in the theater and I was impressed about the process that they went through. We are still hearing about this 40 years later and living through Watergate once is enough.

14. The Burrowers (2008)

R | 96 min | Horror, Thriller, Western

In the Wild West a rescue party sets out to find a family of settlers that has vanished from their home under mysterious circumstances.

Director: J.T. Petty | Stars: Clancy Brown, David Busse, Harley Coriz, Jocelin Donahue

Votes: 9,275

i have already established the I enjoy westerns with a element of the supernatural, thriller, horror, scifi, et cetera. I got this with that of mind and it delivered on the thriller element. However, the plot was hard to follow, it was tedious with a hard to follow plot and a very negative ending.

15. Sushi Girl (2012)

R | 98 min | Crime, Mystery, Thriller

Upon his release from prison, Fish is brought to an abandoned restaurant by his old associate, Duke, to celebrate his newfound freedom. However, there's unfinished business that Duke is determined to solve.

Director: Kern Saxton | Stars: Neal Fischer, Cortney Palm, Tony Todd, Noah Hathaway

Votes: 5,317

There are movies that I watch just because of who is in them and this is one of them. Being R rated, I certainly did not expect Star Wars or something like that but this is what I call a hard R movie. There were about four or five people in it that I wanted to watch and as actors they did what their parts required. The story line matched the condition of the rating. To end this, the actors were good but this is definitely on that I do not plan to watch again.

16. The Creeping Terror (1964 TV Movie)

Not Rated | 77 min | Horror, Sci-Fi

A newlywed sheriff tries to stop a shambling monster that has emerged from a spaceship to eat the citizens of an American town.

Director: Vic Savage | Stars: Vic Savage, Shannon O'Neil, William Thourlby, John Caresio

Votes: 4,716

I am afraid even a negative review will help this movie. I can attest that the sound was the worst I have seen in a movie. I watched it sometime in the 70's or 80's on late night TV. I kept checking my TV to see if there was a problem with the TV. I guess this would be called a fan movie today or a college project but it does not even rise to that. I hope the "actors" had successful lives in a different direction because this lost cause certainly killed any chance they had in the movies.

17. A Walk in the Woods (2015)

R | 104 min | Adventure, Biography, Comedy

51 Metascore

After spending two decades in England, Bill Bryson (Robert Redford) returns to the U.S., where he decides the best way to connect with his homeland is to hike the Appalachian Trail with one of his oldest friends, Stephen Katz (Nick Nolte).

Votes: 29,776 | Gross: $29.47M

18. The Clearing (2004)

60 Metascore

Director: Pieter Jan Brugge | Stars: Robert Redford, Willem Dafoe, Helen Mirren, Alessandro Nivola

Votes: 14,364 | Gross: $5.76M

A good movie by Robert Redford and although it was based on a true story, I did not like the ending.

19. The Great Texas Dynamite Chase (1976)

R | 90 min | Action, Comedy, Crime

Explosive drama and action when two sexy girls go on a bank robbing binge.

Director: Michael Pressman | Stars: Claudia Jennings, Tara Strohmeier, Jocelyn Jones, Miles Watkins

Votes: 761

I do not have to say much about this hard R movie. The one redeeming factor was the presence of Johnny Crawford of Rifleman fame and even he did not look comfortable in this piece of garbage. Just read the reviews or watch the trailers and you will get the gist of this. I am glad this did not finish the career of Mr. Crawford although I am pretty sure that was a period in his career when he was trying to get as far away from the character of Mark McCain as possible which he had a difficult time doing.
