Director: Kenneth Branagh | Stars: Lily James, Cate Blanchett, Richard Madden, Helena Bonham Carter
Votes: 190,687 | Gross: $201.15M
Kenneth Branagh makes an amazing job as ever, the choices he made concerning the special effects are, in my opinion, pretty well chosen and made. It doesn't look like "too much", too computer-made.
The costumes are incredible, like oh my god, the work done on the dresses, the make up, everything is just perfect. For example, the ball dress is breathtaking, and Helena Bonham-Carter's make up when we first see her is so perfect.
Concerning the Prince (aka Richard Madden), can I just have a man to look at me that way? Please. I mean is facial expressions are just...flawless.
Concerning Lily James, she is just amazing in this role of Ella. Her voice sounds so sweet and her expressions always looked fascinatingly true and heartfelt.
And Cate Blanchett played a perfect villain stepmother who's trying way too much to make Ella's life miserable. For the Ella's stepsisters (Sophie McShera & Holliday Grainger), I didn't particularly loved them, but I guess it's just the roles they played, as I usually dislike the stepsisters. Yet, their costumes were super flashy, making them always remarkable.
(My apologies if it is bad, this is my first time doing this).
2. Another Cinderella Story (2008 TV Movie)

Director: Damon Santostefano | Stars: Selena Gomez, Drew Seeley, Jane Lynch, Katharine Isabelle
Votes: 31,040
This is by far my favourite Cinderella story, I could watch it over and over and never get bored of it. It is simple yet extremely convincing in my opinion. I mean, without being treated like Mary (Selena Gomez) is, nor being the servant of a rich family, everyone can somehow relate to it. Whether it is because you're not seen as popular, yet you feel this is alright for you have one or a few friends really dear to your heart. Whether it is because you truly wish someone sees you as Joey (Drew Seeley) sees Mary. Whether it is because you are closer to Tami, the eccentric friend, or Dustin the Duff, the crazy friend who's underrated. Or whether it is because you wish to find you Prince Charming (in a simple man or a rich famous man), I truly think that everyone can relate to this amazingly cute and cheesy story.
