Inspiré par le cinéma de John Waters, il s'agit d'un tout petit budget tourné en 8mm à Berlin au milieu des années '80. Il fut gonflé en 16mm et tiré en deux copies (une sans sous-titre et l'autre sous-titrée en anglais). Sorti pendant trois semaines dans trois cinémas à Berlin (ce qui obligeait une copie à faire des aller-retours entre deux salles.)
Le négatif 16mm avec sous-titres en anglais a été gonflé en 35mm en 1997.
Bijou expérimental qui contient des fulgurances dans le montage du son et de l'image.
Vu au Nova en mars 2019.

Avec du mauvais goût, des nichons, des zizis flasques, des perruques, du sang, du pipi, du caca, du vomi, des couleurs chatoyantes et des flatulences. Feu d'artifice régressif.
C'est du brillant cinéma amateur qui dépeint l'univers des rednecks du sud-ouest des USA.
"Bubblegum" a pour particularité d'être réalisé avec du matériel VHS vintage.
Tourné par le cinéaste Jeffrey Garcia dans sa ville, San Marcos au Texas.
Découvert en avril 2024 au Nova, sans sous-titre, ce qui est problématique pour mon anglais de niveau scolaire "moyen -".

J'ai aussi vu quatre courts du même auteur. Le meilleur de tous m'a semblé être "Lambchop" (2016).
