Young Sheldon boss Steve Holland would like to use this opportunity to address the fate of Paige Swanson (and debunk all of your tragic theories about her absence in The Big Bang Theory).
Mckenna Grace’s character, a fellow child prodigy, was introduced early in Season 2 of the prequel series and served as Sheldon’s chief rival at East Texas Tech. Aside from Tam, who crossed over to Big Bang, she was the closest thing that Sheldon had to a friend, and remained an acquaintance for many years, eventually befriending Sheldon’s twin sister Missy.

Young Sheldon, the spin-off prequel series centered around the childhood of The Big Bang Theory character Sheldon Cooper, has recently concluded with 7 successful seasons. It explored the iconic Tbbt character’s past and shed light on several events that were hinted at in the main show.
Surprisingly, the prequel show took a big challenge when they introduced characters exclusively for the show who were entirely absent in Tbbt. However, most of the fans were shocked to realize that Dr. Sturgis was not even mentioned in Tbbt’s finale even after playing a key role in shaping Sheldon Cooper’s celebrated career.

This article contains spoilers for the Young Sheldon series finale.
After witnessing George Sr.’s (Lance Barber) death in the last moments of the penultimate episode, fans knew that the Young Sheldon finale was going to hurt. However, this two-part finale is also by far the most well-written and beautiful hour of the series.
It’s a showcase of grief and healing, featuring each family member dealing with this monumental loss in a different way with Sheldon (Iain Armitage) at the center of it all as we say goodbye to the Cooper family. Ending a series is never an easy task, especially when it includes a fan-favorite character’s death, but somehow, the writers have made sure the story ends on a hopeful note.

Eli Roth turned adapting the video game “Borderlands” into a mini film school for its young star Ariana Greenblatt.
Roth had Oscar winners Cate Blanchett and Jamie Lee Curtis at his disposal in the space-set sci-fi adventure film, but it was “Barbie” breakout Greenblatt (also of “65” and “In the Heights”) who he says stole the feature. Roth called Greenblatt’s performance in his new film reminiscent of Natalie Portman’s turn in Luc Besson’s controversial crime thriller “Leon: The Professional.”
Pretty good company there.
As it turns out, “Leon: The Professional” is one of Greenblatt’s faves. The young actress (16 now, 13 when she auditioned for “Borderlands,” actually has quite the film palate considering her age. Especially now.
Roth assigned Greenblatt “My Dinner with Andre” to prepare for her “Borderlands” role — “just to fuck with her,” he added. But she dutifully watched it — and as Roth recalled, Greenblatt really dug “the dessert scene.

The number of signees now sits at 492, having more than tripled since Variety first published the April 5 letter, which criticized the attacks on Glazer for being a “dangerous distraction” from the mounting death toll in Gaza while also contributing to the “suppression of free speech and dissent.”
New additions also include Oscar-winning “Anatomy of a Fall” co-writer Arthur Harari, veteran U.K. producer and Oscar winner Jeremy Thomas, “Girls” co-showrunner and co-writer Jenni Konner and “The Hunger Games” writer and director and four-time Oscar nominee Gary Ross. It’s almost time for a second emotional goodbye to one of comedy’s best characters: Sheldon Cooper.
Fans fell in love with the character of Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory, which ran for 12 years and starred Jim Parsons. In the spinoff prequel Young Sheldon, Parsons passed down the torch to Iain Armitage. However, Parsons still narrates the series as adult Sheldon and executive produces.
Young Sheldon allows audiences to travel back to Sheldon’s childhood in East Texas, truly giving us the opportunity to meet his family in a way that we hadn’t with their appearances on The Big Bang Theory. Sheldon wouldn’t be who he is without Mary (Zoe Perry), George Sr. (Lance Barber), Missy (Raegan Revord), Georgie (Montana Jordan), and his Meemaw (Annie Potts).

More than two dozen prominent names from the acting world — including Susan Sarandon, Cynthia Nixon, The Crown actors Khalid Abdalla and Tobias Menzies, and Game of Thrones stars Charles Dance, Carice van Houten and Lena Headey — have contributed to a series of videos supporting South Africa’s historic case charging Israel with genocide at the International Court of Justice in the Hague.
The video series is published by the Palestine Festival of Literature, a British-based cultural association committed to “the creation of language and ideas for combating colonialism in the 21st century.” The video shows the actors reading key sections of South Africa’s 84-page dossier, which argues Israel is guilty of violating the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in its actions in its war in Gaza against the terrorist group Hamas.

Wallace Shawn has called the latest chapter in the deadly Israeli-Palestinian conflict a “massacring” of innocent people.
The Toy Story and The Princess Bride actor shared his stance on the ongoing conflict while appearing at a rally in Farragut Square, D.C., on Monday. Led by the American Jewish groups If Not Now and Jewish Voice for Peace in solidarity with Palestinians, the event called for a ceasefire in the region, which has seen over 4,000 people in Israel and Palestine die, more than 420,000 in Gaza displaced, and thousands injured as Hamas’ rocket attacks continue in South Israel alongside Israel’s artillery and airstrikes on Gaza, according to the Associated Press and United Nations.

This post contains spoilers for the latest episode of "Star Trek: Lower Decks."
The Ferengi have popped up a few times before on "Star Trek: Lower Decks." Back in last season's "Hear All, Trust Nothing," when the USS Cerritos visited Deep Space Nine, we got to check back in on everyone's favorite bartender Quark (Armin Shimerman). In this season's latest outing, "Parth Ferengi's Heart Place," we again meet his younger brother, Rom (Max Grodénchik). Continuing on from where "Deep Space Nine" left off, Rom is the Grand Nagus (Chief Executive) of Ferenginar.
Why is the Cerritos visiting the Ferengi homeworld? Because Rom has plans to bring his homeworld into the Federation. This is quite an about-face for the Ferengi. They were introduced as villains in season 1 of "The Next Generation," but poor reception turned them into comic nuisances. It was "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" that gave them depth, and...

Young Sheldon will enter its seventh and possibly last season sometime in the near future. The series, which acts as a prequel to The Big Bang Theory, has masterfully utilized its source material. Still, there have been plotholes thrown in along the way. As Young Sheldon comes to its potential end, fans have noticed that several key characters introduced in Young Sheldon were never actually mentioned, at least by name, in The Big Bang Theory. We’ve collected three very important characters from the prequel that Sheldon Cooper never talked about as an adult.
Mandy McAllister was never mentioned by name in ‘The Big Bang Theory’
In The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon Cooper mentioned that his older brother, Georgie Cooper, was married twice. He was more than happy to look down on his big brother and his more irresponsible life choices. Still, he never mentioned his first sister-in-law by name,...

Ron Faber, who appeared on Broadway in the 1970s alongside Henry Fonda in First Monday in October and with Irene Papas in Medea, died March 26 in New York after a two-month battle with lung cancer, a publicist announced. He was 90.

It felt good didn’t it? Watching a fantasy film where folks could crack a smile and actually enjoy their adventure. There was certainly danger and monsters in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves—not to mention the roleplaying tabletop game’s namesakes!—but that didn’t mean you couldn’t enjoy the ride.
In the last 20 years, fantasy has largely come to take itself exceedingly seriously where the fate of kingdoms or the entire world often hangs in the balance, and the central heroes who may start merry end the story broken, traumatized, and in a few instances ready to murder their homicidal lover… who is also their aunt.
This past weekend’s winsome D&d movie did away with all that, instead favoring some good old-fashioned romping to go along with a pure cut of high fantasy. If you enjoyed the experience, here are some other fantasy movies we recommend to continue the fun.

There are many types of performances that leave an impression on their actors, but a particularly wacky one stood out for "Community" star Danny Pudi, who played pop culture-obsessed Abed Nadir. Doing a Reddit Ask Me Anything back in 2011, the actor was asked about his favorite scenes in the series. At that point, the series was still only in its second season, and he would still have plenty of ridiculous scenes to experience. But there was one that rose above the rest, from a very Abed-centric episode.
In season 2, episode 19, "Critical Film Studies," Abed asks his friend and fellow study group member Jeff (Joel McHale) out to a fancy dinner, while Jeff is trying to surprise Abed for his birthday by throwing him a "Pulp Fiction"-themed party. Abed explains to Jeff that he's trying to live a life more removed from pop culture references and that he's trying to grow up,...

What better way to celebrate the holidays than with Evil Season 3 on Blu-Ray and DVD, beginning December 13? TV Insider has an exclusive first look at one of the deleted scenes you can find on the three-disc set, this one from the finale, “The Demon of the End.” In the aftermath of Monsignor Korecki’s (Boris McGiver) murder, Father Ignatius (Wallace Shawn) began working with Kristen (Katja Herbers), David (Mike Colter), and Ben (Aasif Mandvi). In the clip above, he joins David at Kristen’s neighbor’s house for an exorcism. (Kristen’s neighbors were suffering as a result of what’s going on in her house.) Kristen’s neighbor is surprised it’s Father Ignatius’ first. “It’s a low exorcism. Any priest can conduct one,” he explains. When they hear very strange noises in the middle, Ben suggests, “...

After successfully standing out as a worthwhile reboot, HBO Max’s “Gossip Girl” must now contend with continuing the new story it’s set while continuing to appeal to fans of the original show. Naturally, the comparisons to the original series remain, as the mythology gets deeper and success allows the continuity bridge to be gapped even more. But with Season 2 it’s a balancing act, as the show’s success allows for things like Michelle Trachtenberg’s return as original series antagonist Georgina Sparks but can also lead to the series potentially relying too much on the past instead of its present and future.
While “Gossip Girl” has been a continuation from moment one — still very much in the same world as the original series, just within a 2020s, social media-obsessed, Zoomer world — there’s an obvious difference between having Eleanor Waldorf, Cyrus Rose, Dorota, and Vanya showing up...

The Movie: "The Princess Bride"
Where You Can Stream It: Disney+
The Pitch: Maybe you've watched "The Princess Bride" a thousand times. Maybe you've never seen it. Either way, I implore you to do it again. I fall into the "thousand times" category, but it had been a while. If you have not yet experienced the wonder that is "The Princess Bride," here's the deal with your future favorite comedy (I feel pretty confident in saying that).
The story begins with a young boy (Fred Savage) who is home sick. His grandfather (Peter Falk) comes to read him a story. At first, the kid is annoyed with it all and wants to skip the "kissing parts," but later gets into the tale.

Wallace Shawn has had a long and impressive career, and yet he is best known by pretty much everyone for a single word: "Inconceivable!" Just about every character in "The Princess Bride" has at least one line so iconic that even those who've not seen the movie have heard the words uttered at some point. As far as what people are remembered for, the actor could do far worse than the beloved film, which was released in 1987 and is widely regarded as a timeless classic.
Directed by Rob Reiner and adapted for the screen by William Goldman, who wrote the novel of the same name, "The Princess Bride" is a clever twist on fairy tales that truly has it all. Woody Allen is not bringing his career as movie director to an end.
Over the weekend, in an interview published by Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia, the 86-year-old Oscar winner suggested that his upcoming movie, “Wasp 22”, will be his last. On Monday, a rep for Allen issued a statement to IndieWire clarifying that the director is not retiring following his next project.
“Woody Allen never said he was retiring, nor did he say he was writing another novel. He said he was thinking about not making films, as making films that go straight or very quickly to streaming platforms is not so enjoyable for him, as he is a great lover of the cinema experience. Currently, he has no intention of retiring and is very excited to be in Paris shooting his new movie, which will be the 50th,” the statement reads.

Woody Allen has announced plans to retire from filmmaking after his next and 50th movie, “Wasp 22,” which is set to begin production this fall in France.
“My idea, in principle, is not to make more movies and focus on writing,” Allen said in an interview Saturday with the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia timed to the release of a book of short comic stories and essays. “Now I’m thinking more of a novel.”
No cast or plot details have been revealed for “Wasp 22,” which will shoot in Paris almost entirely in French, but Allen said it will be similar to his 2005 film “Match Point,” which starred Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Rhys Meyers: “exciting, dramatic and also sinister.”

Based on the 1994 A.S. Byatt short story "The Djinn in the Nightingale's Eye," George Miller's new film "Three Thousand Years of Longing" -- in theaters on August 26 in the United States -- stars Idris Elba as Byatt's titular djinn who appears to a human scholar named Alithea (Tilda Swinton) to grant her wishes in exchange for his freedom. "The Djinn in the Nightingale's Eye" appeared in a collection of similar short stories that draw heavily from ancient texts and folk tales, linking up themes and characters from works such as the "Epic of Gilgamesh," "One Thousand and One Nights," and "The Canterbury Tales," as well as the works of William Shakespeare, and the myth of Cybele. Miller seemingly matched Byatt's thematic links by including multiple flashback scenes wherein the djinn interacts with figures of the distant past.

Evil Season 3 Episode 10
Evil season 3 ends at a crossroads with only one destination. According to The Pop-Up Book of Contemporary Demons, the chapter is both “The Demon of End” and “The Angel of Beginning.” This, however, is a subversion of the dark and light designations. The upcoming birth of a child is being celebrated. It appears to be the product of an inception so immaculate one might call it sterile. But, in an original twist on original sin, the child’s lineage goes straight back to Rms Fertility.
The episode opens in the direct aftermath of “The Demon of Money” conclusion, which saw the death of Monsignor Matthew Korecki (Boris McGiver). The camera doesn’t troll, but the episode expertly shows Leland’s (Michael Emerson) world getting smaller. It is by sheer coincidence, Grace Ling (Li Jun Li) didn’t recognize his face, and tells...

Woody Allen says he’s no longer much interested in making movies in the streaming era.
“I will probably make one more movie, but a lot of the thrill is gone because it doesn’t have the whole cinema effect. When I started, you would do a film and it would go to movie houses all over the country and people would come,” the filmmaker told Alec Baldwin during an appearance on Instagram Live on Tuesday to tout his latest collection of humor stories, Zero Gravity.
“Now you do a movie and you get a couple of weeks in a movie house, maybe six weeks or four weeks and then it goes right to streaming or to pay per view. People love sitting at home and watching on their big screens and watching it on their television sets and they have good sound and a clear picture.

Woody Allen told Alec Baldwin in an interview Tuesday that his upcoming film might be his last, saying that “a lot of the thrill is gone” for him as a director.
Allen, 86, spoke with Baldwin via Instagram Live to promote his new collection of short stories titled “Zero Gravity” that was just released this month. The congenial interview touched on Allen’s writing process, his love of The New Yorker and music, as well as other reflections on his film and comedy career.
Baldwin did ask Allen about his future as a filmmaker, and Allen revealed that he is prepping another film that he would shoot this fall in Paris, though he did not reveal any other details. The film would be Allen’s 50th in his career following last year’s “Rifkin’s Festival,” and he said that should it be his final movie, he would still turn to writing other books or plays.

Evil Season 3 Episode 1
Evil’s season 3 opener, “The Demon of Death,” faces the same problem which hung over the second season: a cliff-hanging, game-changing event occurs, and the characters have to deal with the consequences. Last season started in the aftermath of a killing; this one picks up the pieces of broken vows. Or were they?
Dr. Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers), who is married, confessed she got away with murder to the newly ordained priest, Father David Acosta (Mike Colter). This should have ended the will-they-won’t-they argument raging under the two characters. Evil season 3 has it both ways. The first scene continues where the finale left off, and gives into temptation. It is a powerful opening, sexually charged and regretful, yet always maintaining an ambiance of ominous mystery. Colter and Herbers get truly lost in the moments, both the longing and the lingering doubts...

Last season started in the aftermath of a killing; this one picks up the pieces of broken vows. Or were they?

We don't have to worry about Young Sheldon being cancelled by CBS since it's already been renewed for seasons six and seven. Given what we already know about Sheldon Cooper's young life, it seems likely those will be the final seasons. Still, if the ratings are strong enough, perhaps the show could continue and follow the boy genius to CalTech. Stay tuned.

Co-creator and executive producer Steve Molaro told Variety that as Sheldon, played by Iain Armitage, enters his teenage years and starts attending college, more grown-up storylines have started to reflect that change.
“It’s hard to believe that we started out the pilot [in 2017] when Iain was eight years old,” Molaro said. “And Raegan Revord, who plays Missy, was eight or nine. So we’ve come a long way. Back then we were doing more family-oriented stories and kid-friendly stories because we had two nine-year-olds on the show.
