Robin Williams and Pam Dawber both got to know each other pretty well working on the hit television show Mork & Mindy. After the series ended, their careers would go down different paths. But after three decades, the pair found those paths converging in the series The Crazy Ones.

“Big Shot” is the story of a once-successful but temperamental NCAA basketball coach who lands in hot water when he injures a referee. Add to it a failed marriage, and this hotshot coach is brought down a few pegs.
Now that he’s busted down to minor leagues, he needs to coach the sports team of an all-girls high school. But there’s a caveat — those kids don’t take him seriously. As the dramedy moves on, he magically finds his way back and ends up having a phenomenal redemption arc. “Big Shot” is a true depiction of how second chances can be life-changing.
The series debuted on Disney+ on April 16, 2021. David E. Kelley, Bill D’Elia, Dean Lorey, and Brad Garrett are the executive producers of “Big Shot.” ABC Signature is the studio. It is rumored that the production for season two will kickstart somewhere in 2022.

The Brady organization against gun violence is calling on Hollywood writers, directors and producers to examine onscreen gun violence and depictions of gun safety, asking the creative community to sign a pledge that’s already garnered more than 200 signatures of such names as Judd Apatow, Shonda Rhimes, Damon Lindelof and Jimmy Kimmel and the writers of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The pledge, while noting that the “responsibility lies with lax gun laws supported by those politicians more afraid of losing power than saving lives,” acknowledges that “America’s storytellers” have the power to “effect change.”
“Cultural attitudes toward smoking, drunk driving, seatbelts and marriage equality have all evolved due in large part to movies’ and TV’s influence. It’s time to take on gun safety,” the Brady pledge states, and goes on to ask writers, directors and producers to, whenever possible, to:

Hollywood has come together to make a change over the portrayal of gun violence onscreen.
Judd Apatow, Mark Ruffalo, Jimmy Kimmel, Damon Lindelof, Adam McKay, Julianne Moore, Shonda Rhimes, Eli Roth, Mark Ruffalo, Amy Schumer, and John Glickman are among the first round of signatures for a petition calling for the film and TV industry to re-examine its influence on national gun violence in the U.S.
The petition, titled “Open Letter to Our Colleagues in the Creative Community,” calls for studios to model responsible gun safety practices in productions and curb portrayals of guns in scenes involving children. The effort, led by activists Christy Callahan, the co-chair of the Brady United Against Gun Violence organization’s Regional Leadership Council, and Robert Bowers Disney, comes after the Uvalde elementary school mass shooting on May 24.
“Considering there have been over 250 other mass shootings so far this year, it’s an almost incomprehensible tragedy.

Jessalyn Gilsig has a long and colorful resume playing characters we often love to hate.
On Disney+'s Big Shot, Gilsig is an assistant coach at an all-girls school named Holly. Holly is warm and genuine, with a respectable and healthy understanding of work/life balance.
Put simply, there isn't a single thing about Holly that is anything but lovely, and Gilsig plays her beautifully.
Big shot centers on Coach Marvyn Korn, played by John Stamos, a former college coach out of prospects who takes what he thinks is a professional tumble down to coaching high-school basketball.
Landing the role of Holly brought Gilsig together again with producer David E. Kelly, with whom she worked on the acclaimed series Boston Public, and director Bill D'Elia, with whom she's worked several times over the years.

The series debuts on Disney+ on April 16.
The panel’s technical difficulties lasted throughout and unfortunately, John Stamos, who stars as Marvyn Korn on the series, bowed out for a long beat because he couldn’t hear anyone. Before signing off and resetting his computer he told his castmates, “Just say nice things about me.”

As revealed by the streamer Wednesday at the Television Critics Association Winter 2021 Press Tour, the series synopsis is as follows: “After getting ousted from the NCAA, a hothead men’s basketball coach must take a job at an all-girls high school. He soon learns that teenage girls are more than just X’s and O’s; they require empathy and vulnerability — foreign concepts for the stoic Coach Korn (John Stamos). By learning how to connect with his players, Marvyn starts to grow into the person he’s always hoped to be. The girls learn to take themselves more seriously, finding their footing both on and off the court.”

Filming on Disney+’s upcoming series Big Shot starring John Stamos has been suspended for 10 days. The decision was made last week after a positive Covid-19 test was produced as part of regular screening. I hear the affected individual was in Zone 1 on set.
The positive result triggered guidelines set by the state/county and outlined in the Disney production playbook, including contact tracing. Individuals who have been in proximity to the Covid-positive person have been asked to quarantine. That includes star Stamos, who wrote about the experience on Twitter last Friday.
“My son went to bed last night crying and woke up crying cause he can’t be with his father,” Stamos said. “I’m grateful to have a job, it’s a privilege at this time. I was exposed to the virus for the 3rd time, and have to isolate again for another 10 days!”

Exclusive: Filming on Disney+’s upcoming series Big Shot starring John Stamos has been suspended for the rest of 2020, I have learned. According to sources, the person had tested negative multiple times earlier in the week and was tested again as they reported for work around midday on Thursday. That test result came back after the series had wrapped for the day at around 10 Pm that day, I hear.

Exclusive: Filming was suspended today on Disney+’s upcoming series Big Shot starring John Stamos. According to sources, the decision was made Tuesday night after a positive Covid-19 test was produced as part of regular screening. Shooting was shut down for Wednesday (today). The test result was ultimately deemed to be false positive, I hear.
Big Shot, which films in Los Angeles, is written and executive produced by David E. Kelley and Dean Lorey and produced by ABC Studios.
The 10-episode series follows a temperamental college basketball coach (Stamos) who gets fired from his job and must take a teaching and coaching job at an elite all-girls private high school.
Brad Garrett, who pitched the original idea to Kelley, is an executive producer on the one-hour dramedy, as is frequent Kelley collaborator Bill D’Elia, who is directing the first episode.
A number of series have paused production over positive Covid tests.

Exclusive: Jessalyn Gilsig (Vikings) has been cast as a female lead opposite John Stamos in Big Shot, Disney+ upcoming original series written and executive produced by David E. Kelley and Dean Lorey and produced by ABC Studios, part of Disney Television Studios.

Gilsig will play Holly, the school’s good-humored and down-to-earth assistant basketball coach. She replaces Shiri Appleby, who had been tapped for the part in October.

Hey, "Grey's Anatomy" fans. We hope you guys enjoyed tonight's episode 20. Now that it's officially over and in the history books, it's time to take a look at what the next, new episode 21 will serve up next Thursday night, April 11, 2019. Like clockwork, ABC recently put out their press release for episode 21. So, that is what we'll be taking a look at for this spoiler session. To get things started, ABC's press released revealed that the producers decided to title episode 21, "Good Shepherd." That title sort of gives away that this episode will be all about the Shepherds. This is the one where the fourth Shepherd sister Kathleen is introduced, played by the beautiful actress Amy Acker. It sounds like episode 21 will feature some pretty interesting scenes as Amelia and Link hit up New York City together to perform a major operation on a patient that has a spinal deformity. While in New York,...

Happy Friday "Grey's Anatomy" fans. ABC aired the 22nd episode of this current season 14 last night May 3, 2018. That means it's time for us to take a look at what they have in store for the next, new episode 23. ABC recently put out their official press release for it. As usual, it gives us a title, a short teaser description, any guest stars and regular castmembers that will be appearing in it. The title for episode 23 is revealed to be, "Cold As Ice." It certainly sounds like an interesting title. ABC started off their press release by putting these words in all caps: "The Doctors At Grey Sloan Rally Around One Of Their Own." It sounds like some pretty serious and dramatic stuff will take place in this installment as one of the doctors gets badly hurt! Dr. Nicole Herman returns to the scene with very interesting news for Arizona and more.

They say he hopped on his official Instagram account this past Sunday, November 26,2017 to reveal what he did. According to a new report from the glamour.com news team and a couple of other news outlets, one of the former ladies of ABC's hit drama series, "Grey's Anatomy" revealed that she isn't opposed to the idea of returning to the show even though she did leave of her own volition last year. That former Grey's star is Sara Ramirez who played character Callie Torres for 10 straight years from 2006 to 2016. Apparently, Sara did a new interview with the folks over at Entertainment Weekly. During her interview, she told them about a conversation she had with producer Shonda Rhimes about possibly returning. She said that they've definitely agreed to keep the conversations going. She stated, "When Shonda Rhimes and I last spoke, we agreed to keep the conversations going, and she knows I’m open to keeping those conversations going." Does Sara Ramirez regret leaving when she did? Apparently not.

The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the fourth announced today. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on CBS.
The king of the networks easily remains in charge despite "Elementary" being their only fresh hit of last season's new shows. The network's line-up remains fairly stable with only a few key moves such as Thursday being expanded to include two hours of comedy programming, and "Hawaii Five-0" moving to Fridays.
Several other pilots didn't make the cut this week including the series sequel to the "Beverly Hills Cop" movies, a TV version of the comedy "Bad Teacher", the "NCIS" mobile spin-off "NCIS: Red," a procedural based on Leif G.W. Persson's literary homicide detective Everett Backstrom, the Frank Marshall-produced political thriller "The Ordained" about a priest turned lawyer trying to save his sister from assassination,...

The Crazy Ones single-camera comedy from Boston Legal's David E. Kelley has cast Sarah Michelle Gellar where she'll play Robin Williams' daughter. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story follows the dynamics between Simon (Williams) and his daughter and takes place in the world of advertising. Gellar's character is being described as pretty, intense, driven, organized and burdened with being practical. She's the creative director and Roberts Advertising Agency's life and soul. Although she wants to be like her father, she's too busy playing parent to him. Kelley also executive produces with Bill D'Elia, John Montgomery, Dean Lorey and Mark Teitelbaum. Jason Winer is set to direct the pilot episode of Crazy Ones.

If your television actually explodes with comedic energy next fall, we now know who will be responsible: Robin Williams will star in a single-camera comedy produced by David E. Kelley. CBS officially picked up the "Crazy Ones" pilot on Monday (Feb. 4), along with two dramas, "Anatomy of Violence" and "Intelligence."
"Crazy Ones" will star Williams as an advertising executive working alongside his daughter. It is very much expected that Williams will spend a great deal of time improvising in this comedy. In addition to David E. Kelley (who wrote the script), "Crazy Ones" is executive-produced by Bill D'Elia, Jason Winer, Dean Lorey, John Montgomery and Mark Teitelbaum.
"Intelligence," from writer Michael Seitzman, is set at the United States Cyber Command and centers on a unit surrounding a single agent who has a microchip planted in his brain. Because of this chip, the agent can access the full electromagnetic spectrum (including radio waves). Yes,...

David E. Kelley has one of the most singular voices in TV today -- it usually only takes a minute or less to realize you're watching one of his shows, and medical drama "Monday Mornings" is no exception.
Kelley used to be one of the biggest showrunners in network TV. After collecting a boatload of Emmys for "Picket Fences," he went on to create hits in "Chicago Hope," "Ally McBeal" and "The Practice." He also had a few high-profile flops, but it wasn't until the consecutive cancellations of "Boston Legal" and "Harry's Law" -- both victims of their older-skewing demographics -- and a futile attempt to get a "Wonder Woman" pilot off the ground, that it made sense for Kelley to test the waters of cable TV.

If you dread Monday mornings, you might feel better upon seeing how the doctors in a new drama series start their weeks.
Based on a novel by Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN's chief medical correspondent, TNT's "Monday Mornings" -- executive produced by David E. Kelley ("Boston Legal," "Ally McBeal") and appropriately premiering on a Monday, Feb. 4 -- centers on a ritual for the surgeons at a Portland, Ore., hospital. Each Monday, Chelsea General's quietly fearsome chief of staff (played by Alfred Molina) cross-examines them about operations they've performed ... with the questioning particularly intense if they were unsuccessful.
Jamie Bamber ("Battlestar Galactica") and Jennifer Finnigan ("Better With You") portray two of the doctors, whose personal involvement makes them even more a mutual support system in the face of being interrogated on their professional decisions and actions. Ving Rhames ("Pulp Fiction") also stars as the hospital's trauma chief, with Bill Irwin, Emily Swallow,...

Jennifer Finnigan was happy enough to land her latest series job, not anticipating her spouse also would end up on the show.
The former star of such series as "Better With You" and "Close to Home" plays one of the surgeons in the Dr. Sanjay Gupta-created, David E. Kelley-produced TNT drama "Monday Mornings," premiering Monday, Feb. 4. Another familiar face weaves in and out of the show wearing a white professional jacket: "Weekend at Bernie's" alum Jonathan Silverman, Finnigan's husband.
"That sort of came about last-minute," Finnigan tells Zap2it. "When I got the part, [Kelley's fellow executive producer] Bill D'Elia called to congratulate me, and I was in the car with Jonny. Jonny had done a pilot for David Kelley years ago, something about a wedding planner that didn't get picked up, but he'd had a really nice experience.
"I said to Bill, 'I'm in the car with my husband, and he sends his best.
