[The following story includes spoilers for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.]
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel may have come to a close on May 26, but the characters at the heart of the Emmy-winning series will stay with the castmembers who played them for much longer than that.
The final season of the show from Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino saw the characters at the heart of it accomplish satisfying arcs — from one of the leads going to jail for his ex-wife to two other characters running in between stand-still traffic on New York City’s Upper West Side to support their daughter.
Miriam “Midge” Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan) and her father, Abe Weissman (Tony Shalhoub), have perhaps come further than most pairs in the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. They went from not understanding each other and not having much of a relationship in season one to realizing they’re a lot more like the other than either of them realized when the show kicked off.

This article contains spoilers for the “NCIS: Los Angeles” series finale.
“NCIS: Los Angeles” showrunner R. Scott Gemmill’s goal with the series finale on Sunday, May 21 was to give the characters of the long-running CBS procedural as happy an ending as possible.
“It really was about trying to find a way to wrap up the series that would leave the fans feeling hopeful for the future of all our characters. And so we gave everyone what we figured was their version of happily ever after… at least for the time being,” he told TheWrap in a recent interview.
To that end, in the final episode, Callen (Chris O’Donnell) and Anna (Bar Paly) tie the knot in an impromptu ceremony attended by the rest of the team — except for Hetty (Linda Hunt), who sends a congratulatory note.

As we all mourn the end of the Halloween season and brace ourselves for the seemingly unending parade of holidays based on familial obligations or gross displays of capitalism, November is here to serve as a little respite. Many of the horror movies that disappeared off streaming platforms to try and snag some extra Halloween funds in October are returning to their respective platforms, but the trickling in of cheesy Christmas fare is also coming in fast.
Fortunately, there's a massive amount of old favorites and exciting new titles trying to beat the holiday havoc, and we've got five between Hulu and Disney+ that you would be wise to check out. Action? Teen movies? Horror comedies? Musicals? Weirdly bleak arthouse film with surprising brutality? November has it all, baby.

Abubakr Ali, the titular star of the recently canceled Netflix series Grendel, is speaking out about the show’s cancellation and what it means for Muslim representation on the screen.
In Grendel, Ali became the first Arab Muslim male actor to portray a series lead in a comic book adaptation. Earlier this week, Netflix revealed it would not be moving forward with the series. The decision was made after Grendel had done the bulk of its filming but the series was not finished, so there is currently a partial eight-episode season in the can. Producers have the option to shop the series.
In a post on Instagram, Ali noted that “Despite making up 24 percent of the world’s population, Muslim actors only make up 1 of speaking characters on TV.”
“I was really excited for what this role meant to my community,” he continued. “I never thought this business would allow...

Netflix’s decision to scrap its Grendel comic book adaptation after all eight episodes were shot is not sitting well with one of the show’s stars.

Netflix has grounded its adaptation of the Dark Horse Comic book Grendel.
Deadline revealed the news Tuesday, stating that the show had been in production and that plenty of scenes had been filmed.
Based on Matt Wagner's groundbreaking comic book series, Grendel follows Hunter Rose, a gifted fencer, writer and assassin as, seeking to avenge the death of a lost love, he goes to war with New York's criminal underworld, only to realize...why beat them, when you can join them?
That was the logline shared when the series got a formal pickup a year ago.
Deadline notes that producers plan to shop the series around, but there's no telling what paved the way for the cancellation.
The cast of the project was to include Abubakr Ali as the titular “Grendel”/“Hunter Rose.”

“Grendel” is no longer happening at Netflix, Variety has confirmed.
Based on Matt Wagner’s popular comic books, the series (which had an eight episode order) follows Hunter Rose, a fencer, writer and assassin who fights organized crime in New York to avenge the death of a lost love, until he ends up taking over the crime scene himself. It was originally picked up at Netflix in September 2021.
Producers now have the option to auction the project elsewhere. No further information has been released.
Abubakr Ali is set to play the show’s titular role. Ali is known for playing Sebastian ‘Bash’ Kamal-Stern in “Power Book II: Ghost.” His other credits include playing Raj Patel in “Katy Keene” and a leading role in “What If?,” the upcoming feature from Orion Pictures and Killer Films directed by Billy Porter.

Fans looking forward to Netflix’s Grendel series will be disappointed to learn that the adaptation of the Dark Horse Entertainment property is not moving forward. The Grendel series, led by Abubakr Ali, initially received an eight-episode order as a part of Netflix’s first look deal with the publisher. Thankfully, Grendel could have the chance to be sold to another platform. If another outlet picks up the show, Ali will be the first Arab Muslim male actor to portray a series lead in a comic book adaptation.
Resident Evil and Supernatural alum Andrew Dabb wrote the Grendel series in addition to serving as showrunner and executive producer. According to Deadline, Grendel follows Hunter Rose (Ali), a gifted fencer, writer, and assassin, seeking to avenge the death of a lost love. In recent years there’s been something of a surge in anthology movies, not your traditional anthology mind you, no, many new anthologies are actually made up of existing thematically connected shorts brought together with, oftentimes, a new wraparound filmed to tie these tales to each other. Films like Zombieworld and Galaxy of Horrors pioneered this type of filmmaking and in the five or so years that followed we’ve had plenty of other examples. And now comes a sci-fi take on the anthology film, Battle in Space: The Armada Attacks.
Made up of six shorts, Battle in Space‘s opener tells the story of how humanity spread across the universe after the discovery of hyper speed.

"Mission control: we have a critical situation!" Uncork'd has unveiled an official trailer for an anthology film featuring a series of sci-fi shorts called Battle in Space - The Armada Attacks. This plays like a low-budget, B-movie collection of space battle stories and despite the low quality, it still looks rather fun. In 2420, after aliens and powerful space wizards enslaved human villages, a group of rebels organize a counter attack against their alien overlords by piloting fully loaded spaceships. Acclaimed actor Doug Jones stars in this as an alien, and the cast also includes Erik Palladino, Douglas Tait, Trip Hope, Jordu Schell, Linda Weinrib, Toby Rawal, Tom Farrah, Tom Madden, Declan Churchill Carter, Alexis Watt, and Philip Cristian Classen. I really wasn't expecting much from this, but I will admit there's some cool shots in this trailer that make me curious. Maybe there's some cool sci-fi stories hidden in here?...

This week on NCIS: Los Angeles, as Callen and Sam raced to Egypt to get a bead on kidnapped colleague Fatima Namazi, they required an assist from Vostanik Sabatino. For loyal viewers of the CBS procedural, the moment was loaded with highly entertaining meaning, given the team’s previous interactions with the CIA officer (played by ER alum Erik Palladino).
The previous episode similarly brought back Bar Paly as the always enigmatic Anna Kolcheck — another reliable player that is intermittently called off of NCIS: La‘s deep, well-established bench.

"Why hack the ships when you can hack the pilots?" Dust has debuted an impressive new sci-fi short film titled Sky Fighter, available to watch in full for free today on their YouTube channel. This dense 15-minute short is about two pilots fight a war in the distant future in their fighter-bomber spacecraft. But is the true enemy their alien opponent...or each other? This is just a few notches above the usual homemade sci-fi, with an awesome set and some fantastic VFX work throughout. There's one incredible shot when they finally get a look out of a window. I love when filmmakers go all out reminding us what space is really like and in order to leave us in complete awe. Sky Fighter stars Tom Maden, Jess Gabor, and Erik Palladino. There's also a killer score by Bobby Villarreal to go along with the visuals. Highly recommend giving this your time.

I don’t know many people who have seen the 2001 dramatic thriller Finder’s Fee. If you are not one of those people who have seen it, then I’m happy to introduce you to this fantastic little indie film. The movie centers around a man who finds a wallet on the street containing a winning lottery ticket worth $6 million. This is the start of what turns out to be a crazy and super heavy and complicated problem.
The film was directed by Jeff Probst, and it features an impressive ensemble cast that includes the likes of Ryan Reynolds, Mathew Lillard, James Earl Jones, Erik Palladino, and Dash Mihok. This cast alone should be enough for you to want to watch the movie, and I have to say that they all deliver incredible performances.
The story follows a guy named Tepper (Palladino), who, like I already mentioned, discovers a wallet on the street.

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including Veep, Arrow, Chicago Fire and Supernatural!
1 | Doesn’t anyone on Game of Thrones think that hiding in the crypt from an invading army of undead soldiers — an army that has the ability to raise the dead to fight alongside them, mind you — is a spectacularly bad idea?
2 | More shocking Veep twist: Selina and Dan sleeping together, or Amy transforming into Jonah’s very own KellyAnne Conway?

Warning: The following contains spoilers from tonight's episode of Suits. If you haven't watched yet, consider yourself warned. Proceed with caution. And just like that, Mike Ross is out of jail. Of course, it didn't happen just like that. No, in typical Suits fashion, it took a great deal of dangerous maneuvering on Mike's behalf to make sure the circumstances were just right so that his buddy Kevin (Erik Palladino) could always walk free while the nasty Gallo (Paul Schulze) got locked away for an even longer sentence. But by episode's end, Mike was once again a free man. And, according to star Patrick J. Adams, it couldn't have happened any sooner. Adams revealed to E! News that it...

Hi, welcome to fireside chats with Patrick.
I had the chance to chat with Patrick Adams at Atx Festival about Suits Season 6. We were, naturally, by a fire because that is where you conduct interviews in Austin, Texas in June.
I'm sure by now, you've all seen the haircutting promo. This, naturally, lead to a conversation about how Mike really needed a haircut. Adams takes full responsibility for Mike's hair last season, "That was my fault. I tried a new haircut. I tried a new hairstyle and it didn't work."
Of course, I didn't begin the interview with a hair question. What kind of journalist would I be? I opened by asking Adams where we pick up; specifically, if there is a time jump, and that's when the hair cutting promo was mentioned, and then the next seven minutes were focused on Mike's hair.

Written and directed by Luiso Berdejo, and starring Junio Valverde, Leticia Dolera, Miriam Giovanelli, Ricardo Darín, Carlos Bardem, and Erik Palladino, the film follows Alex, living in Santa Monica, California, who one day finds a Polaroid picture of beautiful girl and promptly falls madly in love with her. He determines to track her down and soon begins a journey that will forge a connection with his deceased grandfather, while also taking Alex to the depths of his soul. In this exclusive clip, we get a nice sense of the nervy tone of the film, as well as the visual approach, which finds Berdejo mixing media.
