Award winning actress Sarah-Jane Potts, is set to unveil her new short, The Magician, her first as writer/director when the film has it’s World Premiere on 20th May 2022 at the Romford Film Festival.
The Magician is a short film written and directed by Sarah-Jane Potts who co-stars in the film alongside her long time Holby City ally Bob Barrett. The film, which was produced by Sarah-Jane’s husband, actor Joseph Millson, is an uplifting story about an unexpected encounter that saves one woman’s life. Writer/director Sarah-Jane Potts says:

Filmmaker Joe Dante is cherished in the horror community for his wonderful work on films such as Gremlins, The Howling, and The ’Burbs, but perhaps one of his more under-seen (and recent) movies is The Hole. Through their multi-media brand Untold Horror, Dave Alexander and Mark Pollesel are looking to change that by celebrating Dante's 2009 fantasy horror film with a 3D screening at the Tcl Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on Friday, November 30th, including a Q&A with Dante hosted by fellow filmmaker John Landis.

This morning the annual works in progress session, now dubbed the Buyer's Showcase, took place. The session features showing footage from feature films in post or recently completed. This year we got to see footage from Can Evrenol's (Baskin) Housewife, Michael Peterson's Knuckleball, Brian O'Malley's (Let Us Prey) The Lodgers, Leo Shcerman's Trench 11 and Bob Barrett's television series Untold Horror. Now, we the press are not allowed to go into any great detail about what we watched today so in that regard you may be disappointed. However, you will get my impressions from the footage we saw and some suggestions about what to look for when these films make their way around the festival circuit and into distribution in whatever territories they are sold...

"They're always there. They're like ghosts," says George A. Romero. The Godfather of the Living Dead isn't referring to one of the ravenous monsters from his movies, but rather movies themselves... the ones he never got to make. Films that never made it out of Development Hell are the focus of Untold Horror, a new project from Dave Alexander and Mark Pollesel that features filmmakers—including George A. Romero, John Landis, and more—discussing their films and passionate ideas that never came to fruition.
In addition to reflecting on films that never came to be, Untold Horror is also helping to resurrect these passion projects, beginning with George A. Frontières International Co-Production Market will include TV shows for the first time at its upcoming edition.
Following its third European edition at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (Bifff), Frontières returns to Fantasia International Film Festival for its sixth edition, running July 21-24 in Montreal.
The first wave of projects announced include two TV series: House Of Psychotic Women and Untold Horror.
House Of Psychotic Women is based on the book by Canadian author Kier-La Janisse, who will also produce alongside Rook Films’ Andy Starke (Sightseers, The Duke Of Burgundy). Sean Hogan has written the pilot episode.

Pool parties for children have been given a twist - by adding alligators. Bob Barrett from Tampa Bay, Florida is offering the new party service for £100. He takes alligators to people's back garden pools so that their children can swim them. Speaking to the Tampa Bay Times, Barrett said: "It just took off like wildfire. Everybody loves having the gator pool parties." Barrett runs the local Alligator Attraction and came up with the new innovation during the summer when business was slow. Lauren Drummond and Sarah-Jane Potts have joined the cast of Holby City, taking on the roles of two new regular nurses. Drummond is to appear as agency nurse Chantelle Lane, who is brought into the hospital by Sacha Levy (Bob Barrett) after staff shortages cause the Aau ward to descend into complete chaos. Potts, meanwhile, will portray senior nurse Eddi McKee, who arrives at Holby on the same day as Chantelle as she accompanies a road traffic accident patient. When she witnesses the disorganisation around her, Eddi convinces Sacha to give her a job too.
