The franchise is over, the dust has settled, and what we have been left with is one remarkable movie franchise to look back on with mostly praise. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 was a great movie, now it’s time to consider it for awards. Is it really good enough to be considered for a “Best Picture” at the Oscars?
Well, Warner thinks so, they released a promotional “For Your Consideration” video, which is very powerful. You can watch it below as well as a list of nominations Warner Bros. is going for:

Warner Bros. has officially launched their Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Oscar campaign by releasing a For Your Consideration trailer to help build the hype. I loved the final Harry Potter film, it was my favorite of the series, and I would love to see it get several of the Oscar nominations that the WB thinks it is worthy of. I'm sure it will end up getting a few nice noms, unfortunately, I don't think it will win the big stuff like Best Picture, Actor, Actress or Director. Check out the For Your Consideration trailer below and tell us what you think! Do you think the movie is Oscar worthy?

While many people either love or hate the franchise (both in regards to the books and movies) there's no denying that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 was a great movie. But was it really good enough to be considered for a "Best Picture" nod at the Oscars? Well, Warner Bros. certainly seems to think so as they've release a promotional "For Your Consideration" video as well as a list of the categories they believe the movie should receive nominations in. Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint up for "Best Actor"? Yeah, I don't see that happening somehow... Best Picture Produced by: David Heyman David Barron J. K. In one weekend, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 has managed to break the record for highest grossing film in an opening weekend with $168.9 million domestically, a record that was previously held by another Warner Brother’s film, The Dark Knight, which grossed $158.4 million in its own opening weekend. Surprised? Well don’t be. We did have to sit through seven Harry Potter films to get to this point. So not only was there anticipation built up, but there was also an expectation from the fans of the books and movies.
But give a round of applause to Warner Brothers, a studio that was able to jump on the hype that was Harry Potter. They were able to stick to their guns and churn out all seven books, eventually turning seven books into eight movies. In essence WB has created a popular theme for other studios that are now...

The final battle. The end of an era. The franchise of a generation.
When Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 blacks out and rolls credits, it will be the end of a decade-long journey, an unprecedented cinematic experience. Some watched Daniel Radcliffe and his young co-stars grow up over the ten year series. Others, like myself, literally grew up with them.
Wherever you stand with the series, from casual viewer to hardcore fanatic, it's hard not to admit that there's a certain magic to the series beyond the spells and brews cooked up at Hogwarts. Harry Potter has the same spark that engrossed millions when Star Wars first hit the scene: great storytelling, great characters and an unrivaled imagination. That makes its departure a down-right tearjerker in itself.

The countdown is on for the DVD and Blu-ray release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 (nine days!) and Warner Home Video had a party this morning with members of the cast and crew at the fantasy movie franchise’s prop exhibit in New York. Of course, I was there. Here’s the dish.
Harry Potter and Ron Weasley's dormitory rooms at Hogwarts are on display at Harry Potter: The Exhibition.
Warner gave us a tour of Harry Potter: The Exhibition, which open at New York’s Discovery Times Square Museum tomorrow. The popular traveling show features costumes, props and sets from all the Harry Potter films. Very cool — who doesn’t want to see the actual wands that Daniel Radcliffe and company wield in the Harry Potter films?

When "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" draws to a close, don't expect the proceedings to end with the battle against He Who Must Not Be Named.
There's much more to play with in the "Potter" universe beyond the Voldemort conflict. We're talking, of course, about the epilogue, a sequence where — Spoiler Alert! — we're invited to see what happened to the survivors of the war against the Dark Lord in the years that followed the Battle of Hogwarts.
The epilogue is easily one of the most highly anticipated scenes in all of "Deathly Hallows: Part 2," so when we spoke with "Potter" producers David Barron and David Heyman at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week, we made sure to ask them about it. After the jump, find out three interesting facts we learned about how the "Harry Potter" saga will come to a close!

Harry Potter producer David Heyman has confirmed that the 3D conversion of the final film is going ahead. The 3D release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One was cancelled after filmmakers were unable to complete the transition into 3D for the entire film. Most recently, Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley) expressed doubt that the conversion of the final movie, Deathly Hallows: Part Two, would be approved. However, speaking to Collider, Heyman asserted that the 3D release will go ahead, saying: "Yes it is. The reason we didn't do it on the first part was because we didn't feel that we could do it justice. And actually the 3D would compromise the film, so we didn't have the time." Fellow producer David Barron explained: "We were diving into 3D for the first time - it was a new world for us, and so we didn't (more)...

This has been the week of fun "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" videos, and we couldn't be more pleased... but this next one is a bit of a tear-jerker.
During ABC Family's "Harry Potter" weekend, the channel aired a special clip narrated by producer David Barron that showed the last day of principal photography on the set of any "Potter" film, ever. There are sad faces in the video. You might even see Dan Radcliffe's tears. And it makes the fact that "Harry Potter" is actually coming to an end be all the more poignant.
Watch the video after the jump!
"We'd actually saved it because we obviously thought it would be a very difficult day for Dan, Rupert and Emma particularly, and for the rest of us, but for them particularly," Barron said. "They had grown up on 'Harry Potter' and had been started, they were 11, 12 for the first film.

Hold on to your hankies, Harry Potter-heads, because you're about to witness the Last Shot Ever Filmed for the eight-film series. Ever. (except for the reshoots)
Cue Boyz II Men's "End of the Road."
Franchise producer David Barron introduced the behind-the-scenes clip on ABC Family, where they continue to regularly run the Harry Potter movies as if they were an essential matter of national security, which they totally are. It shows the last shot of principal photography (key words) on "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II" which Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson took part in.
Having literally gone through puberty on camera over the last decade, the three actors share the kind of immense bond that could only be forged when running around a set pointing wands at each other somehow secures the next four or five generations of your family's financial future. Also, we Love them!

HollywoodNews.com: “Harry Potter Weekend” has kicked off on ABC Family, and fans got a much-anticipated glimpse into what the future holds for Harry, Ron and Hermione with an exclusive preview of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, which is due in theaters on July 15.
The first official photo from the film shows Harry standing on a bridge (presumably at Hogwarts), which was glaringly absent from Deathly Hallows – Part 1, as the trio of friends were on the run from the Death Eaters and Ministry employees now under the control of Lord Voldemort.
The video preview included clips of interviews with stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, producers David Heyman and David Barron, and director David Yates. Fans who read – and cried – through the final book will recognize key scenes in the video, although those same scenes will be considered spoilery for fans of the film series only.

'The King's Speech' Sweeps The BAFTAs, Christopher Lee and 'Harry Potter' Receive Achievement Awards
To the surprise of few, "The King's Speech" came out of Sunday night's BAFTA awards show with seven of its 16 eligible awards in hand, including Best Film, Outstanding British Film, Original Screenplay, Leading Actor, Supporting Actor and Actress and Original Music.
These big wins certainly shorten the gap between "The King's Speech" and "The Social Network" for the Best Picture race as we head toward the Oscars. Though "The Social Network" originally struck many as the favorite -- and it did land a few big awards at the BAFTAs, including Best Director, Adapted Screenplay and Editing -- "The King's Speech" has picked up speed in recent weeks, with the string of BAFTA wins only furthering its momentum.
For those of you still upset about the slights at "Inception" for Oscar nominations you'll be happy to know that Tom Hardy was awarded the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award. It's an obvious...

HollywoodNews.com: Author J.K. Rowling and Producer David Heyman appeared onstage to accept the BAFTA Award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema, which honored the Harry Potter film franchise for 2011.
Of receiving the honor, author J.K. Rowling stated:
It is very strange to look back after seven films and remember how wary I was of letting anybody put Harry on the big screen, and I kept saying no. And it was David Heyman — not Warner — David Heyman who persuaded me and he has been there from start to finish. So tonight, I really need to say publicly how right I was to trust him, how much I owe him, how grateful I am to him, and to say that being involved in these films has been one of the best experiences of my life, and particularly being involved with these wonderful people standing behind me.

Before Ian Fleming created England's superspy James Bond, there was Bulldog Drummond. Popular in the 1920s, the character of Bulldog Drummond was a British veteran of World War I who is bored with civilian life so he becomes a private investigator.
