It began in October 2000. Some 3,500 days later, "Harry Potter" was no more.
Wrapping production on the final part of "Deathly Hallows" two weekends ago, the boy-wizard film franchise came to a close after shooting eight installments. Daniel Radcliffe and his co-stars grew up at Leavesden Film Studios outside London, where the majority of each film was shot.
That final day of shooting, then, was an emotional experience for the entire cast and crew, even if Radcliffe didn't think he'd succumb to the poignancy of the moment.
"I didn't expect myself to get particularly emotional, but I really did, as I'm sure you'll see on the DVD extras, because we were filmed weeping like children," he told MTV News.

We have just received word that Rupert Grint is most likely going to attend the BFI IMAX Premiere of Chasing Cotards! Chasing Cotards is “the biggest short film of all times”, and stars Andrew Scott and Olivia Grant (who was featured in the March issue of InStyle along with Rupert). For more information, including the announcement of Rupert’s attendance, click here. Rupert has been approached “because we know he is an admirer of independent films and ambitious projects”, and will join David Yates and David Barron on the red carpet on April 24 - if his filming schedule allows this of course. Thanks to everyone for the tip, and to Rupert’s reps for the quick reply! And don’t forget to make sure to get your copy of No Magazine featuring Rupert with a photoshoot and interviews! All the information you need is in the news post below!

London -- Film4, the film financing division of Channel 4, announced Friday it has signed director Lenny Abrahamson and "The Men Who Stare At Goats" writers Jon Ronson and Peter Straughan to its latest project "Frank," about a musical genius and his band. David Barron, one of the "Harry Potter" franchise producers, and Stevie Lee of Runway Fridge Productions are on board as producers.
Set in the offbeat world of 1980s subculture, the movie tells the story of the mixed-up relationship between musical master and disciple. The film is currently at the script development stage with shooting scheduled for later in the year. The script has been attracting attention since it appeared on the 2009 Brit List of industry recommended unproduced scripts.
"We are passionate about this brilliantly original script and now Lenny is the perfect collaborator to take us into the wild and wonderful world of 'Frank,' " said Katherine Butler,...

- I'm not sure what to make from the Brit List. A trio of films from last year's batch (Nowhere Boy, Never Let Me Go and The Debt) that effectively received a greenlight, and are now in the can, and in the list's inaugural year, Grant Heslov's Men Who Stare at Goats was the top vote-getter. Now in its 3rd year, the "List" of the most liked and recommended unproduced screenplays in the UK and Ireland is complied by only 40 people in the industry. You've got some attention-getting projects among the list below, that I'm sure we'll be discussing in the near future and the Playlist made a good round-up, but for the sake of getting to the cream of the crop, I'll look at the top three screenplays instead. 1.
