A federal judge in California has upheld Cardi B’s sweeping victory at the recent civil trial in Santa Ana where jurors found her not liable for using a portion of a man’s back tattoo on the cover of her early mixtape Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 1.
U.S. District Judge Cormac J. Carney ruled Wednesday that plaintiff Kevin Brophy’s request to overturn the Oct. 21 jury verdict was both too late and lacked merit. He subsequently ordered Brophy to pay the Grammy-winning “Wap” rapper’s attorney’s fees and costs.

Cardi B’s court battle over the cover art for her mixtape Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 1 is over. On Friday, days after the rap star appeared in court to battle the 5 million lawsuit, a jury in Santa Ana found that the artist did not use the likeness of Kevin Brophy nor portray him in a bad light.
Brophy — whose back was pictured in the cover art for the rapper’s mixtape — had originally sued Cardi, claiming that the “raunchy” artwork had “ruined” his private life.

Happy 2018, dear readers! With a new year comes a new batch of home entertainment releases, even if we only have a relatively quiet week of titles to look forward to. Scream Factory is kicking off 2018 right with their Collector’s Edition of Hell Night, and Umberto Lenzi’s Seven Blood Stained Orchids is getting a brand new Blu as well. If you missed it last fall, The Houses October Built 2 comes home this week, and cult film fans should keep an eye out for Miss Zombie from Redemption Films, too.
Other January 2nd releases include Bigfoot Country, Dystopia, Anna, Death Island Paranormal Retribution, No Solicitors, and The Body Tree.

Before he came face to face with Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Peter Barton faced a different kind of cinematic killer alongside Linda Blair in Hell Night. With the 1981 horror film coming out soon on a Collector's Edition Blu-ray / DVD with a new 4K scan from Scream Factory, we've been provided with an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip to share as a special treat for Daily Dead readers.
In the behind-the-scenes clip below, Barton reflects on a humorous time when it was difficult for him to maintain a straight face during filming, and he also talks about the high level of energy that goes into a performance when actors are playing characters who are fighting for (or fear for) their lives.

The guy going down on Cardi B on her mixtape cover is pissed off because he claims he never posed for the photo, and never signed off on his image being used in such a sexual manner. Cardi's "Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 1" cover shows a shirtless guy, with very distinct back ink, performing oral sex on the rapper. Kevin Brophy says the image is 100% him, but he only found out about it when a friend...

Ray Fulk has left a rather strange bequest about his estate. He has given almost all of his assets to two actors whom he had never met, Kevin Brophy (left) and Peter Barton (right).
Fulk, 71, died last July. He lived alone on a farm in Lincoln, Ill and had no family or children. But he did have an affinity for two actors and so he left them an estimated half a million dollars each.
"He was a loner, and a lot of neighbors didn't know who he was," says Donald Behle, the estate attorney who helped prepare Fulk's will. "He just said [the actors] were friends of his."
"I found a couple of letters he had written to them," Behle tells the Sate Journal-Register "They sent back responses that basically said thanks for writing and please watch me in whatever their next movie or show was."
Brophy was in the 1977 show "Lucan,...

What are you all doing out front of my house on a cold night like tonight? You want to hear about another movie from back in the day? Don’t you have school or something? Ok, I guess I can spare a few minutes to share another forgotten gem with you, but then it’s straight to bed…for me, anyway.
I think it’s safe to say that Linda Blair and I have pretty much grown up together, albeit on different sides of the camera. While I was toiling in the multi-media club in high school making movies for the classes she was in Hollywood making movies for the masses, but we were on the same ship. From the Exorcist movies, Born Innocent, Sarah T.–Portrait of an Alcoholic, Roller Boogie, Ruckus, Savage Streets, Night Patrol, all the way up to All is Normal…I’ve pretty much seen it all.
