Cruel Summer Season 3 is getting a lot of attention, and here we’ve gathered the latest information for you.
I am damn sure that all the viewers who have seen the previous two seasons of this twist-and-turn-filled anthology series must be quite excited to know more updates about the future of it which means the third season of the series.
Let us tell you that the first season of the series was released back in the year 2021. Cruel Summer became Freeform’s most watched and most loved series in network history, but the story had a fairly definitive ending, with only small threads left to tie into a second season.
And in spite of the fact the series returned with season 2 which was also quite popular among all the viewers.
And the Cruel Summer Season 2 of the series just finished premiering on 31st of July 2023 and just after its ending...

How many of you live your lives based on the constant anxiety of the question “what will people say”? Because that’s basically what Steve Chambers did and look where it got him. We are talking about the season finale of Cruel Summer, and assuming you are only here after watching it, you know what I am talking about. I knew it would be futile to predict what was going to happen in the end because Cruel Summer was always going to surprise us. But we went ahead because it was way too much fun, and in the end, I am glad that the show threw most of our wild theories in the trash and gave us something entirely unimaginable. Let us take a closer look one last time.

Lexi Underwood and Sadie Stanley in ‘Cruel Summer’ season 2 episode 10 (Freeform/Justine Yeung)
Freeform’s Cruel Summer season two episode 10 – the season finale – puts an end to all the whodunnit guessing games. Luke’s killer is revealed but, as with the first season, not all the loose ends are tied up.
It’s 4am on New Year’s Day when Megan (Sadie Stanley) and Isabella (Lexi Underwood) return home. Megan wants to go back and untie Luke, but Isabella doesn’t agree. Although he’s been tied up for hours, she seems to think they let him off easy. Megan reminds Isabella that she shot him, and Isabella maintains it was an accident.
Megan decides she’s going to wait until 8am and then head to the cabin to untie Luke.
At 5:00am, Luke (Griffin Gluck) has made it to the docks which is where we last saw him in episode nine.

There is going to be a lot of overreaching. That’s the only way we can actually do this. Yes, we are talking about Cruel Summer season 2 here. The show dangled its central mystery before us in the opening episode of the season, but even after six episodes, we can’t exactly say that we have any clear idea about what happened. However, that is not going to stop us from forming theories about how Luke, aka the male lead character of this season, died. For this article, I scratched my own head a lot as well as scoured the fan pages of the show on Reddit. What you are going to read is the outcome of that. To make things simpler, I am going to separate the characters and discuss their individual motives behind killing Luke or speculate about their possible involvement in his death somehow. There is a possibility that in four weeks,...

How fascinating it is when a show shifts between three different timelines so effortlessly that the entire narrative remains hyper-engaging for the viewers! If you thought Cruel Summer was a one-season wonder because of its relatively unknown cast and the show being the product of a network like Freeform, then you were clearly wrong. Because the current season has turned out to be a worthy successor after all. It took no time last week to drop us into its new world, where we saw a lot happening, including a possible murder. The mystery only intensifies further in this week’s episode, but you do get some answers and a lot of breadcrumbs. Given the show’s nature, I don’t think that should surprise you.

Sadie Stanley and Lexi Underwood in ‘Cruel Summer’ season 2 episode 3 (Freeform / Ricardo Hubbs)
The dates of Freeform’s Cruel Summer season two episode three are July 19, 1999, December 19, 1999, and July 19, 2000. Which, of course, means the action takes place just one day after the events of episode two.
Summer of 1999:
Megan (Sadie Stanley) and Isabella (Lexi Underwood) are in the camper where Isabella’s staying as Isabella packs for a weekend getaway. Megan’s trying to talk Isabella out of going, making it sound like it’s just a guys trip (even though Megan’s going as well).
Later, the girls show up to the campout and Megan’s not pleased with seeing Luke (Griffin Gluck) and Isabella clinging on to each other. She’s also pissed she’s stuck unloading the car. Fortunately, Jeff (Nile Bullock) comes over to help, and it seems he might have a thing for Megan.

The VHS tape doesn't seem to be the only problem hurting Megan and Isabella. All their secrets are catching up with them, too.
With a body in the lake, Sheriff Myer is starting his round of interviews on Cruel Summer Season 2 Episode 3.
The former BFFs are the top two suspects, but a few more options are thrown into the mix. It's still early in the mystery, but we're beginning to see layers with additional depth.
"Bloody Knuckles" felt like a supporting chapter. After the powerhouse premiere on Cruel Summer Season 2 Episode 1, the focus was on building early theories and laying the groundwork for Megan and Isabella's eventual friendship.
There was nothing too exciting or shocking. Instead, it's a plot-heavy story to round out the characters, much needed for the mystery.

The first season of Cruel Summer was an unexpected hit for Freeform back in 2021 when it became the No. 1 new cable drama among women. The series had a great hook: the story was divided across three years, each visually distinct, following the same characters as their circumstances changed in relation to a central mystery.
In season one, that was the kidnapping of a popular girl. In season two of showrunner Elle Triedman‘s anthology series, the stakes have escalated to murder.
Just like before, the action involves two high school girls: risk-averse, straight A student Megan Landry (Sadie Stanley) and Isabella Larue (Lexi Underwood), the wealthy daughter of diplomats. The latter girl is essentially an exchange student who comes to stay with Megan and her family – mom Debbie (KaDee Strickland) and younger sister Lily (Jenna Lamb) – for a year in the small Pacific North West tourist town of Chatam.

"Cruel Summer" Season 2 Is Full of Twists and Turns: "[Fans Will] Be Really Surprised by the Ending"
Nothing is quite as it seems in season two of "Cruel Summer." Freeform's breakout anthology series officially returns this summer with a new mystery and a fresh cast led by "Little Fires Everywhere" star Lexi Underwood, Disney's Sadie Stanley, and "Locke & Key"'s Griffin Gluck. Set in a small Pacific Northwest town, the second installment centers on a complicated love triangle between friends Megan Landry (Stanley), Isabella Larue (Underwood), and Luke Chambers (Gluck) and a mysterious incident that changes their lives forever.
"I don't want to spoil anything, but the mystery is going to be very hard to move on from," Stanley tells Popsugar. "The events that happen are life-changing. The stakes are really high this season." Though it follows a completely new storyline, similar to the first season, the second chapter is told through three different timelines surrounding Y2K, which is part of what drew Stanley...

No one could just pull off the crime of the decade.
Masterminds is based on a true story about a Loomis Fargo robbery, in which a small group successfully stole $17 million—making it the second largest bank heist in history back in 1997.
The film stars Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig, Owen Wilson, Kate McKinnon and Jason Sudeikis.
Here’s the official synopsis:
David Ghantt discovers the true meaning of adventure far beyond his wildest dreams. He is an uncomplicated man stuck in a monotonous life. Day in and day out, he drives an armored vehicle, transporting millions of other people’s money with no escape in sight. The only glimmer of excitement is his flirtatious work crush Kelly Campbell who soon lures him into the scheme of a lifetime.

Stories of great heists start with a bang and end with a whimper. But in Masterminds, a comedy based on the true story theft of an armored vehicle by incompetent robbers to the tune of $17 million, it begins with the usual plot devices: a voice over narrator, slow-motion shots for comedic effect, and a girl. And it closes not with a whimper but with title cards, pictures of the real life baddies, and comedic outtakes for good measure. Hollywood has done another of its numbers on a middling tale, and not in a good way.
The girl in question is Kelly, played with unusual quietness by Kristen Wiig, and the hapless lover is David Scott Ghant, portrayed by Zach Galifianakis sporting pageboy bangs. Ghant works at an armored vehicle company with Kelly, and falls hard for her. After she introduces Ghant to swindler Steve Chambers, the expectably soft-spoken Owen Wilson,...

Welcome back to the Weekend Warrior, your weekly look at the new movies hitting theaters this weekend, as well as other cool events and things to check out.
This Past Weekend:
While the new movies reigned at the box office this past weekend, both Antoine Fuqua’s The Magnificent Seven (Sony) and the animated Storks (Warner Bros.) didn’t fare nearly as well as our projections, both falling short by about $10 million. The Magnificent Seven, starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt, fared decently with $34.7million, which is about the average for Washington’s films, but the fourth highest opening for a Western after last year’s The Revenant, the animated Rango, and Cowboys and Aliens. Storks’ $21.3 million opening wasn’t great compared to other animated September releases with Sony still holding the September opening record with Hotel Transylvania 2, but it should continue to do well with no other animated movies opening for another month.

You’d have to cast your mind back to December of 2015 for the last time Jared Hess heist flick Masterminds made the headlines.
Caught amidst Relativity Studios’ tumble into bankruptcy, there was a time when many feared the starry comedy would never see the light of date. Pushed back a full year, a new trailer has emerged today reminding us all that, yes, Masterminds is still a thing – and it’s arriving sooner than you might think.
Zach Galifianakis and Ghostbusters star Kristen Wiig take point as two lowly schemers, who draw up what they believe to be a foolproof plan to become $17 million richer. Spoilers: things go south pretty fast, and whether you take an inkling for Masterminds will likely depend on your tolerance of Hess’ other features, namely Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre.
Also starring Ken Marino and Leslie Jones, Masterminds is (finally!) expected to arrive on these...

After the uneven Don Verdean, Jared Hess is returning to adventure comedy with more of an action tinge in the new trailer for the long-delayed Masterminds. Sad-sack night guard for an armored car company David Ghantt (Zach Galifianakis) is getting married to Jandice (Kate McKinnon), who comes in a package with her mother. He aspires to be something more, believing he is destined for adventure. Enter Kelly (Kristen Wiig), a new employee with a plan to rob the bank with her cohorts (including Owen Wilson), all the while special agent Scanlon (Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones) is hot on their tail.

In the fallout of Relativity Media’s bankruptcy, major question marks loomed over several high-profile productions, including beleaguered Western Jane Got a Gun and upcoming Kristen Wiig comedy Masterminds. Originally penciled for a release back in August, it is the latter feature that was left languishing in post-production, though Relativity has allayed fears that Jared Hess’ (Napoleon Dynamite) crime caper would never see the light of day, after locking down the film for a release on September 30, 2016.
That’s more than a year after the initial release date set for Masterminds, though at least we have official confirmation of that Hess’ latest comedy is back on track. Of course, with such a starry ensemble, it was highly unlikely that the feature would be left out in the cold, having assembled Wiig, Zach Galifianakis, Jason Sudeikis and Owen Wilson for the riotous comedy.

Between shooting the Ghostbusters remake, starring with Will Ferrell in the ridiculous Lifetime spoof (?) A Deadly Adoption and toplining the bizarre Welcome to Me, Kristen Wiig has been having a pretty packed summer, and today’s reveal of the first full trailer for Masterminds just cements the Bridesmaids actress as one of this season’s most prolific comedy players.
That isn’t to say that the pic looks particularly promising – the trailer isn’t that funny, and the pic is directed by Jared Hess, who hasn’t made a really good movie since 2004’s Napoleon Dynamite (that’s right, Napoleon Dynamite is over a decade old – who else feels really old right now?). But hey, there’s a pretty solid cast, with Owen Wilson, Zach Galifianakis, Jason Sudeikis, Wiig’s Ghostbusters companions Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Ken Marino and Devin Ratray all on board, so maybe...

The middle of Spring actually means a new selection of summer blockbusters to look forward to, and with a ton of big-budget films slated to come out within the next few months and beyond, the summer of 2015 looks like one to remember.
From the new Mad Max (which is already on our end-of -year top ten list event though we haven’t yet seen it) to Avengers, Poltergeists, male strippers, talking teddy bears, and a reboot of the Jurassic Park franchise, this summer’s trips to the theaters will be jam-packed with sequels and new tales. From May 1st right through to the end of August, some of the movies on our list could wind up on year-end “best of” lists or even receive some Oscar talk by December.
Grab your calendar, because Wamg has a rundown of this summer’s films we’re most excited about, so check them out below!

Even though Jared Hess hasn’t made a movie in six years since 2009’s Gentleman Broncos, there’s still a small group of Napoleon Dynamite acolytes who love the indie director’s deadpan screwball comedy. And I can’t think of another comic more suited for that brand of comedy than Zach Galifianakis.
In Hess’s latest film Masterminds, Galifianakis is an armored car driver who manages to drive off with $17 million in cash, only to lose it to a pair of reckless, double-crossing criminals on a wild spending spree, forcing him to go on the run as well. Here’s the full synopsis, via Collider:

Hangover star Zach Galifianakis is set to join Owen Wilson in an untitled new heist comedy that was previously called Loomis Fargo. Jim Carrey was supposed to star in the film, but it looks like Galifianakis will be taking his place. I'm sure he'll be great in the role.
The movie is is being directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) from a script written by Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer. That script is based on an original screenplay by Emily Spivey (Up All Night).
The film is based on the book Heist!: The $17 Million Loomis Fargo Theft, by Jeff Diamant. It tells the true story of four Southerners who stole $17 million from an armed Loomis Fargo truck in 1997. Galifianakis will play a disgruntled armored car driver who teams up with a pretty co-worker and a group of inexperienced criminals to steal the money. Via: The Wrap
The audacity of the act was breathtaking.

Owen Wilson is set to co-star alongside Jim Carrey in the new Jared Hess film project, Loomis Fargo. Hess is the director that brought us Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre, and Gentlemen Broncos.
The film will tell the true story of four Southerners who stole $17 million from an armed Loomis Fargo truck in 1997. It's based on the book, Heist!: The $17 Million Loomis Fargo Theft, by Jeff Diamant.
Wilson's new movie, The Internship, is currently out in theaters, and I think Carrey's career is going to blow up again after Kick-Ass 2 is released.
Loomis Fargo sounds like it will make for a great film, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Here's a breakdown of the story from the book:
The audacity of the act was breathtaking.

I'm looking forward to seeing Jim Carrey in Kick-Ass 2 and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. I hope it's the start of more good films to come from him in the future. He's currently in discussions to star in an interesting sounding heist movie called Loomis Fargo.

This sounds like it could be a really good movie. It's also a very different kind of film project for both Hess and Carrey, hopefully they are able to turn it into a great film. It definitely has potential. Here's a breakdown of the story from the book:

In Charlotte, Nc, a Loomis Fargo vault supervisor grabbed $17 million and stuck it in a company van, which was the third largest cash robbery in Us history at this time.
Well, you know, Relativity Media is now in negotiations to acquire Loomis Fargo, a bank heist comedy based on the book, ‘Heist!: The $17 Million Loomis Fargo Theft,’ by Jeff Diamant and Jim Carrey is said to be eying the Ghannt role.
The incident that was the subject of the book went like this: in 1997 David Scott Ghannt, the driver of a Loomis Fargo & Company armored car drove off with the money and left it with two coworkers; he then bailed for Mexico, where he intended to hide for a few months. His co-conspirators were to wire him the money, but they plotted to have the guy murdered! Meanwhile these two were blowing through millions of dollars in extravagant fashion...

Jim Carrey is now in talks to star in Loomis Fargo, a true heist tale that is set to be directed by Jared Hess, one of the co-directors of Napoleon Dynamite. Described as one of the biggest heists in American history, the story follows four men in the south who managed to get $17 million out of an armed Loomis Fargo truck. It is suggested by The Wrap, which broke the casting news, that the main players in the movie will be "the former company employee, David Scott Ghantt, who struck up a relationship with a fellow employee, Kelly Campbell who then introduced Ghantt to an old school friend, Steve Chambers, who helped pull off the robbery." The article doesn't say which character Carrey would play should he decide to sign on. In addition to having its first star come aboard, the movie is also in the midst of securing its...

He’s been dishing out rough justice as The Colonel in a cameo part for the Kick-Ass sequel, but soon Jim Carrey may be shimmying to the other side of the law. Carrey’s in negotiations to star in Loomis Fargo, the tale of one of the biggest heists in Us history. The true-life story was chronicled in Jeff Diamant’s 2002 book Heist!: The $17 million Loomis Fargo Theft. It's the tale of former bank employee David Scott Ghantt who, in 1997, struck up a relationship with fellow drone Kelly Campbell. Together with Campbell’s old school friend Steve Chambers, they robbed one of the bank's armoured trucks, getting away with $17 million.Ghantt fled across the Mexican border with $50,000 (you couldn’t take more without authorization) and lived there, setting up an account to receive more money. But he only got to enjoy his ill-gotten gains for a year, as he...
