The third season premiere of BMF gathered its biggest audience to date for Starz.
The drama’s March 1 debut racked up 5.1 million cross-platform viewers over its opening weekend. That’s the best performance to date for the series and up by a million viewers over the season two premiere in January 2023 — a nearly 25 percent jump season to season.
As is usually the case with premium cable shows, the vast majority of viewing came away from Bmf’s on-air premiere, which averaged just 250,000 viewers (though that too was up, vs. 170,000 for the season two opener) — only about 5 percent of the three-day total. The 5.1 million figure includes replays and streaming as well, and though Starz (like most other streamers) doesn’t provide detailed streaming data, it’s a safe bet that most of the remaining 4.85 million viewers came via streaming.

TV Fanatic scored an exclusive first look at a clip from one of the freshman season's most pivotal episodes.
In the clip, we see Isa, an A-list Latin pop star who gathers her friends for a trip to her exclusive tropical island getaway.
In perhaps a nod to the rich and famous, our three leads get out of their car to escape to the private jet for a luxury holiday.
They have a pre-conceived expectation of what's about to go down, but the truth is, they couldn't be more wrong.
Isa, played by the Umbrella Academy's Genesis Rodriguez, tells them this isn't like the getaways other celebrities can give them.
How?

The hustle isn’t easy, but three friends are committed to doing it together in Netflix’s new Daddy Yankee-produced series, Neon.
The streamer released the trailer for the upcoming music comedy on Tuesday, which is set to feature a number of cameo appearances including Brray, Jon Z, Lyanno, Jowell, Ken-y, Jota Rosa, Villano Antillano and Daddy Yankee.
The series follows Tyler Dean Flores as Santi, a rising reggaeton artist who, alongside some old friends — Ness (Emma Ferreira) and Felix (Jordan Mendoza) — from small town Florida, and a brand new one, A&r rep Mia (Courtney Taylor), attempts to leave his mark on the Miami music scene.
The eight-episode comedy is a look at the hilarious and sometimes even harrowing realities of trying to make your dreams come true — whether it’s being the biggest star in reggaeton, a music manager, or a music video director — in the music industry.

Netflix’s official trailer for its upcoming Daddy Yankee-executive produced series “Neon” showed its star, Santi, (Tyler Dean Flores) is no “one-hit-wonder.”
“This is it, we’re moving to Miami,” says Felix (Jordan Mendoza) in the trailer’s opening.
“I’m going to be the biggest Reggaeton star in the world,” Santi chimes in.
And Santi means what he says, as he and his two friends Ness (Emma Ferreira) and Felix set their sights on South Florida to pursue their dreams of putting Santi on the map as a Reggaeton artist in the music industry — even it means preparing for the biggest meeting of their lives inside a gas station bathroom or living in a 2009 Toyota Corolla.
Despite the odds against them, “We have a plan,” says Ness, who acts as Santi’s manager alongside Felix, who serves as Santi’s creative director. Together, the trio is determined to...

The art world is a cutthroat and judgemental arena. You’re the cat’s pajamas one day, but you’re old news if you take too long to deliver your next masterpiece. Surrounded by snobbery, bitter wine, and diamond-encrusted vultures waiting to pick your talented bones clean, artists endure a lot to remain relevant, and some would even kill for the chance to keep their spot in the public eye. In today’s The Kill Room trailer, a hitman, his boss, and an art dealer concoct a money laundering scheme that accidentally turns an assassin into an overnight avant-garde sensation.
Nicol Paone directs from a script by Jonathan Jacobson, with Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, and Joe Manganiello leading the cast, with Maya Hawke, Mike Doyle, Debi Mazar, Matthew Maher, Marianne Rendón, Gionna Daddio, Jennifer Kim, Amy Keum, Brandon Curry, and more.

The news broke less than 24 hours after the Fantasy Island Season 2 finale.
"We were very pleased with Fantasy Island's fun and escapist creative, which we had hoped would gain strong traction among viewers," the network said in a statement, adding:
"We'd also like to thank Fantasy Island's cast, led by Roselyn Sánchez, Kiara Barnes and John Gabriel Rodriquez, crew and executive producers Liz Craft, Sarah Fain and Anne Clements for their partnership on the series."
Fantasy Island averaged 2.8 million viewers and a 0.3 rating in its final season with Live + 7 playback included.

Fox has opted not to renew drama series “Fantasy Island” for a third season, the network announced on Tuesday, one day after airing its second season finale.
It’s the same strategy they took with the Mayim Bialik-led sitcom “Call Me Kat,” after its third season finale failed to draw sufficient numbers. The last episode of “Fantasy Island,” titled “Mj Akuda & The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Wives Club,” earned 1.8 million viewers and a 0.2 rating in the demo.
“We were very pleased with ‘Fantasy Island’s’ fun and escapist creative, which we had hoped would gain strong traction among viewers,” the network said in a statement shared with TheWrap. “Sony Pictures Television is an important partner of ours, and we look forward to continuing to work with them on ‘Accused,’ ‘Alert: Missing Persons Unit,’ ‘Doc’ and the upcoming animated series ‘Universal Basic Guys/Hoagie Bros.'”

No more tropical island escapes for Fox: the network is not renewing Fantasy Island for a third season.
Fox greenlit the contemporary version of the classic drama series in 2021. The series, which takes place at a luxury resort, starred Roselyn Sanchez stars as Elena Roarke, a descendant of the original series’ enigmatic Mr. Roarke.
The series was done under a low-cost business model, so its threshold for success was lower. But Fox still decided to have the sun set on its summer series.

Fox won’t be making any more trips to Fantasy Island.
The network has canceled its drama series after two seasons and 23 episodes. The end for the series comes a day after its second-season finale aired.
Created and run by Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain, Fantasy Island is a sequel to and update of the 1977-84 ABC series that starred Ricardo Montalban. Roselyn Sánchez stars as Elena Roarke, a descendant of Montalban’s character who runs a resort that offers to fulfill its guests’ dreams and desires. Kiara Barnes and John Gabriel Rodriquez also star.
The series, a co-production of Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment, premiered in summer 2021 and drew a relatively modest audience — though large enough that, combined with the show’s relatively low cost compared to other hour-long dramas, earned it a second season. Season two averaged 2.74 million viewers and a 0.27 rating among adults 18-49 after seven...

The series, which previously premiered new episodes on Sundays, premium cable’s biggest night, has moved to Fridays, where it will air linearly at 8 p.m. Et/Pt and become available on-demand at midnight. Starz has released a trailer for the upcoming season, which can be viewed below.
Set in Detroit during the late ’80s and early ’90s, “Bmf” tells the true story of Demetrius and Terry Flenory, the founders of the Black Mafia Family, a drug-trafficking/money-laundering organization that was active from 1989 to 2005. Attention, filmmakers... please stop finding footage. Too much has been found already. No one should be looking for more. The ship has sailed. Still... sometimes a gem can sneak through. Is Come Back to Me such a gem? It definitely uses said footage in a unique way. Watch the trailer and decide!
Directed by Paul Leyden, Come Back to Me stars Matt Passmore, Katie Walder, Nathan Keyes, and Laura Gordon.
The film revolves around a young woman (Walder) who suffers memory lapses and blackouts after a car accident.
She then learns she is pregnant, but her husband (Passmore) is infertile, which leads her to set up a security camera in their bedroom. The trailer seemingly reveals what their creepy neighbor (Keyes) is doing to her in the night: “Killing and bringing you back - it’s how he connects.”
It’s a twist suggested by the title of the novel The Resurrectionist,...

With zombies being everywhere this day, it's pretty hard to do something clever with the subgenre, especially in short films where budgets and time can be ambition's biggest enemies.
Apparently no one told filmmaking couple Ashleigh Nichols and Eddie Beasley that because the pair's latest short film - Summer of the Zombies - manages to deliver a charming and clever look at the zombie apocalypse through the eyes of a Vegetarian zombie named Summer, whose veggie-loving tendencies are so deep-rooted, they stick with the ghoul even as she wanders the streets as an aimless ghoul in search of food.
Dread Central recently caught up with Beasley and Nichols and heard more from the duo about their experiences making Summer of the Zombies and what's up next for the filmmaking couple. We also heard more from Nichols about her experiences producing the 2011 horror comedy The Last Lovecraft: The Relic of Cthulhu...

#30. Highland Park - Andrew Meieran I thought Andrew Meieran's dramedy might be ready for a 2011 edition showing -- but if this hasn't preemed anywhere else then perhaps the post-production process was a tad bit more lengthier than anticipated. With True Blood star Deborah Ann Woll and Park Posey toplining, perhaps Highland Park will indeed be receiving a Premieres showing. Gist: This centers on a group of high school faculty members and their desire to improve their community. Confronted with overwhelming problems and limited resources, their lives and priorities change when money seemingly falls into their lap. They see the restoration of the library as the means to inspire civic pride and a way to re-energize people. Posey will star as Shirley Paine, onetime homecoming queen and now the Mayor of Highland Park. A scheming opportunist, she is a woman drunk on power, eager to cash in on the city's notoriety.

#54. Highland Park - Andrew Meieran She's a Sundance staple and it would be logical to see Park Posey in a film that would help launch a filmmaker's career at a fest that does just that. The film works with a very "current" theme and if the tone is just right, I could see Andrew Meieran's dramedy, which has had a long time to prep for the festival (read this article on the shot in Red production). Look for Highland Park to be one of possibly a pair (the other being Detachment) of high school set pics that deal not with the students, but the staff. Posey toplines a pic that centers on a group of high school faculty members and their desire to improve their community. Confronted with overwhelming problems and limited resources, their lives and priorities change when money seemingly falls into their lap. They see the restoration...
