Starring MCU and DC Universe alumni David Dastmalchian and Laura Gordon (Undertow), the upcoming horror flick Late Night with the Devil has just released its first official clip from the movie. The film will have its theatrical premiere on March 22, 2024, while Shudder will stream it starting from April 19, 2024. The official synopsis of the movie reveals the following:

A film that is truly transfixing from its very first frame to the moment its eerie end credits roll, Colin Cairnes and Cameron Cairnes' Late Night with the Devil was one of my favorite screenings at last year's Overlook Film Festival. Taking place during a late-night talk show one fateful (and frightful) Halloween in 1977, Late Night with the Devil features a powerfully poignant performance by the always-great David Dastmalchian, and ahead of the film's theatrical release on March 22nd via IFC Films and its April 19th streaming release on Shudder, we have a look at the movie's chilling trailer and fiery poster that warns you to "not adjust your set."
Synopsis: October 31, 1977. Johnny Carson rival Jack Delroy hosts a syndicated late night talk show ‘Night Owls’ that has long been a trusted companion to insomniacs around the country. A year after the tragic death of Jack’s wife, ratings have plummeted.

Directed by Australian filmmaking brothers Cameron and Colin Cairnes (100 Bloody Acres, Scare Campaign), Late Night With the Devil evokes the spirit and style of 1970s horror classics like The Exorcist and Rosemary’s Baby. Holy hell this year’s SXSW Film Festival isn’t messing around.
The official lineup has just been revealed and it’s a banger, starting off with a special screening of Evil Dead Rise!
In addition, they have several prominent horror titles that will premiere as part of the Midnighters program, including the Sundance hit Talk to Me and the surprise sequel to Becky, The Wrath of Becky!
“Midnighters don’t need to be exclusively horror films, they just need to perk you up and get your blood pumping,” said Peter Hall, Film & TV Festival Programmer. “That’s why this year’s SXSW Midnighters class is a mix of horror, bone-crunching action, and mind-melting genre hybrids. Some of them introduce new, terrifying lore to the canon of suburban horror movies, some will worm around in your brain like thoughts you can’t shake, but all of them will make you...

Like all superheroes (or anyone else who uses a secret identity), there came a moment when someone finally cracked the code and published my real name. To be fair, my identity was a pretty poorly-kept secret by that point. The first time I went to an actual press event, I used my real name, and anytime I met someone, I used my real name. "Moriarty" was a fun identity to slip into, and especially in the early days of the site, we played up the mythology of things. My friends all got their own spy names and would show up in the reports in the form of Henchman Mongo and Segue Zagnut and Harry Lime and more. From my end, it was silly and fun, and not something to be taken seriously. But when Film Threat ran a fairly vicious hit piece on Harry, I was also a target, and...

Turkish film and television director Emre Sahin, man who directed and edited documentary and reality television shows for ABC, MTV, VH1 and more, is now in charge for an upcoming drama thriller titled Seven Days Waiting. In other words – make sure you remember this guy, ’cause you’ll be hearing a lot about this story!
At this moment we know that Seven Days Waiting script comes from Jeff Bacon, Joe Davidson and Jordan Capell, and the movie will apparently center on a war vet suffering from Ptsd, a financial executive contemplating suicide and a young woman seeking revenge for a past crime.
Their lives will then somehow intersect during a seven-day waiting period following the purchase of a firearm.
That’s basically all we know about the project so far, except that Derek Dauchy will oversee the project for Davis Entertainment, while Benderspink will exec produce the whole thing.

Davis Entertainment has picked up a comedy pitch from newcomer scribe Jeff Morris for a low six figures.
Though Davis is keeping the plot under wraps, Morris' pitch is in the vein of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", said Derek Dauchy, the production company's president.
"We love Jeff. He's got a great new comedic voice," Dauchy said.
Morris inked the deal Davis in late April. Davis has a first-look deal with Fox for the project. Dauchy is producing, along with John Davis and Ira Napoliello.
This is the first sale for Morris, a former bartender and political science major at Arizona State University. He wrote and directed the indie film "You Did What?" which won the Orson Welles Award for outstanding achievement for a first-time director at the Tiburon International Film Fest.
He is repped by Zero Gravity Management.
Davis' production credits include the highly successful "Alien vs. Predator" series for Fox, as well as "I, Robot", "Garfield" and "The Heartbreak Kid".

Aiming squarely for the potty and missing virtually every time, Daddy Day Camp, the Eddie Murphy-less sequel to 2003's Daddy Day Care, makes for an awfully long 85 minutes -- even by the diminished demands of its juvenile target audience.
Any scrap of charm or honest-to-goodness humor already possessed in limited quantities by the original has been relegated to the outhouse in this sorry follow-up.
Obviously, Sony is banking on its intended demographic not being overwhelmed by Buena Vista's Underdog, given "Daddy's" arrival less than a week later. But minus Murphy, it's got nowhere to go but down.
It turns out Murphy isn't the only one who's out of the picture -- so is the rest of the original cast, including Jeff Garlin, who played his best buddy-turned-business partner.
So this time around, the roles of Charlie and Phil are played by once-upon-a-time Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. and Garlin look-alike Paul Rae, still operating their thriving Daddy Day Care business.
But when they discover that their old childhood day camp has been run into the ground, they agree to take it over, much to the chagrin of their kids, who would prefer to go to the tonier Camp Canola, which is now operated by Charlie's old nemesis and tormentor, Lance Warner (Lochlyn Munro).
With mere days away from being foreclosed upon, the guys have to work fast, even if it's at the expense of Charlie's relationships with his eager-to-please son (Spencir Bridges) and disapproving military dad (Richard Gant).
Taking the reins from Daddy Day Care director Steve Carr, feature newbie Fred Savage would have seemed to be the man for the job, given his extensive Disney Channel directing credits.
But he can't seem to make much out of the shoddy blueprints furnished by screenwriter Geoff Rodkey (who wrote the first one), along with J. David Stem and David N. Weiss.
Their combined efforts produce enough puking, farting and shots to the crotch to fill the next Jackass movie, while the entire childhood rival plot line could have been lifted wholesale from Cheaper by the Dozen 2.
As far as the performances go, let's just say if Savage's cast was encouraged to play it any broader, they would have needed CinemaScope.

This review was written for the theatrical release of "Are We Done Yet?"
Mr. Cube builds his dream house in "Are We Done Yet?" which essentially takes the "Are We There Yet?" characters and grafts them into the basic plot line for the classic RKO comedy "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House," in which Cary Grant played Mr. Blandings, a man who predated "Green Acres' " Oliver Douglas by a couple of decades.
While the refurbished version would never be taken as an improvement over the original, it makes for a generally inoffensive hour-and-a-half, and with a certifiably gonzo John C. McGinley providing the bulk of the laughs, it is definitely less obnoxious than those "Cheaper by the Dozen" remakes.
It also is better than the 2005 Ice Cube comedy that still managed to gross a highly respectable $82 million. Given the new film's pre-Easter weekend release strategy, it should play well with kids and home improvement fanatics, though others could find themselves relating to the title on more than one occasion.
The last time we saw Ice Cube's Nick Persons, he was trapped in an SUV with two kids traveling from Portland to Vancouver. Now fully domesticated, Nick, his bride, Suzanne (Nia Long), and her two growing children (Aleisha Allen, Philip Daniel Bolden) are finding his former bachelor pad a little cramped, and with twins on the way, bigger quarters are required sooner rather than later.
They find the sprawling house of their dreams in the rural Pacific Northwest (courtesy of British Columbia), which affords lots of fresh air and lakeside views. It also proves to be a major money pit, but Persons is so taken in by a local real estate agent's ("Scrubs" regular McGinley) slick sales pitch, he fails to notice all the telltale signs.
As it turns out, McGinley's ingratiating Chuck Mitchell Jr. wears a number of hats, including building inspector and contractor, and before Nick knows what has hit him, Chuck has moved his Airstream trailer into the Persons' yard to oversee the neverending renovations.
Directed by Steve Carr, who helmed Ice Cube's "Next Friday", and adapted by Hank Nelken ("Saving Silverman"), the picture delivers the requisite number of pratfalls, and the genial Ice Cube makes for a credibly hapless everyman, but the comedy still feels a little too safely soft around the edges. A little more inspiration could have made it something enjoyable instead of simply innocuous.
Visually, cinematographer Jack Green, a frequent Clint Eastwood collaborator, effectively captures all those unobstructed, picture-perfect vistas. Production designer Nina Ruscio rightfully lends the house a distinctive character of its own.
Should the Persons family return for another sequel, here's hoping they at least don't take another dip into the RKO vault and turn "Citizen Kane" into "Are We Rich Yet?"
