Is the Clark family the third wheel of the zombie apocalypse on this week's Fear The Walking Dead?
This review contains spoilers.
See related Willy Wonka: new movie will not adapt any of the books, origin beats confirmed
3.6 Red Dirt
For a drama-heavy hour with so much promise, I wanted to like Red Dirt more than I did. Indeed, this episode has domestic drama to spare, presenting a family rife with dysfunction. This is great from a storytelling perspective—the more conflict, the better. The only problem? The heart of Red Dirt rightfully belongs to the Ottos, and yet they’re forced to share the spotlight with the Clark family. Had this not been the case, this could have easily been a top notch episode. The Otto family is slowly coming apart at the seams, and as such, so is the insular community that calls the ranch home.

Margaret Cho doesn’t get too many chances to sing on Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva… but this Sunday she gets to cut loose.
The episode finds Cho’s Teri in jail. (In case you missed it, she impersonated a lawyer a few episodes back, which is a tad illegal.) She makes the best of a bad situation by strumming her guitar and bringing the power of song to her fellow cellmates. Also, she accepts “cigarettes and chocolate in lieu of applause”.
In the exclusive clip sent over by Lifetime, Teri gets a visit from Jane (Brooke Elliott) but Teri is more concerned about her upcoming jail number from a beloved Broadway musical.
Also in the episode, Jane let’s that the “L” word slip after spending the night with Grayson (Jackson Hurst) and Kim (Kate Levering) enlists Stacy (April Bowlby) to take care of her baby.

When Russell Middlebrook (Cameron Deane Stewart), a shy high school sophomore, and Kevin (Justin Deeley), king of the jocks, share their first kiss, it's true love. (Isn't it always?)
What follows isn't likely to surprise, but this adaptation of Brent Hartinger's popular young adult novel (the first in a series) handles serious issues with a light touch, and should resonate with adolescents.

It's that time of year again -- or what used to be that time of year. NewFest is here (September 6-11). Yes, the celebration of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and what-have-you cinema is back for its 25th anniversary. The main venue will be the Film Society of Lincoln Center's Walter Reade Theater, considered by some to be the best cinema in Manhattan, one that boasts a truly superior sound system.
(Anyone who ever attended NewFest when it was held at the New School with its second-rate visuals and third-rate resonance will rejoice.)
In the past, this deliciously raucous event has screened a mixed bag of semi-brilliant to much-less-so offerings, many you'll never ever get to see anywhere else on a "big" screen whether you reside in the Big Apple or in Idaho. On the plus side, watching a woefully dreadful movie with a roomful of knowing Glbtq cinephiles is often a hoot.

Zap2it: You're playing Paul, the latest angel sent to help the soul of fashionable Deb, now living in the body of lawyer Jane. How are you enjoying the job?
Justin Deeley: He's a lot of fun to play. I've never really gotten to do a comedic character -- at least paid. Paul is ... the 6-year-old that lives within all of us. Anytime I'm having trouble with a scene, I just think, "If I was 6 years old, how would I do this?"
Zap2it: How is Paul handling being back on Earth and being a guardian angel?
Justin Deeley: In his previous life, he worked a little too hard. He took a lot of things for granted, as far as life. And he's come back, and he's got this body that he never could have. He never really worked out. He says, "Look what I can do. Look how strong I am.

A simple twist of fate changed the lives of Deb Dobkins (Brooke D’Orsay) and Jane Bingham (Brooke Elliott) forever. Deb died and, after mistakenly pushing the wrong button at Heaven’s door, returned in the body of Jane. This meant one thing: Deb as Jane needed a guardian angel. But Jane proved to be a bit more of a handful than either anticipated. Now trying his luck in protecting Jane is the latest angel on watch, the enthusiastic Paul (Justin Deeley). When Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva" made its fifth-season premiere on Sunday, June 23, fans got a look at new cast member Justin Deeley ("90210"), who plays Paul, the current guardian angel of the soul of fashionable Deb, who's living in the body of lawyer Jane (Brooke Elliott).
After that look, there wasn't a very large percentage of Deeley's fit body that remained a mystery. But given his history, he didn't consider that a very big deal -- and neither does Paul

After some back and forth between Lifetime and Sony, Drop Dead Diva has finally come back to us. It was almost like someone hit the return button from the TV afterlife!
In "Back From the Dead" we picked up exactly where we left off on Jane's wedding day to Owen. At the tail end of the season 4 finale, Grayson came to see what was taking Jane so long and admitted his feelings before kissing her. Owen walked in and fainted while clutching at his chest.
For all intents and purposes, it seemed to the world like Owen was suffering a heart attack. After all, he had heart problems throughout Drop Dead Diva season 4.
Then we saw Old Jane push the return button, the shot moved back to Owen and he gasped for air like he was coming back to life. Now I understand there was a lot of red tape...

“Season of the Equinox, the witch besets her kill; one less soul in the town to know, taken against their will.”
A urban legend that nearly every child in the small town of Summerset has heard; a story passed down from generation to generation that offers just enough chills to keep the legend alive. However it seems the legend may be rooted in truth as seven year old Amanda Drake is swiped from her bedroom window. Always up for a good fright, 18 year old Zach and his friends decide to sneak into the woods and find the mysterious “Open Hearth”, the old house in the woods that once belonged to the witch. Unbeknown to Zach, his younger brother Max and his girlfriend Sammy sneak along. They all soon discover that folklore...

When it came time for Drop Dead Diva to cast a new angel, they certainly took into consideration an actor with heavenly good looks. Heartthrob Justin Deeley was named this week as the show’s newest cast member. Congrats!
The Lifetime network offered Deely a series regular role as new guardian angel, Paul. According to THR, the job went to the right man. The character is “adorable” in personality, and a “free spirit”. “His body comes straight out of an Abercrombie & Fitch ad.” Yep, nailed it. Thank you, Mr. Deeley.
Lifetime revealed the update via social media. Paul will join season 5 of the revived drama. Production is already underway in Atlanta.
“Thank you fans! We met the goal in record time! Meet southern heartthrob Justin Deeley, Jane’s new guardian angel! Trust us, you’re going to Love him this season. What do you think??” the network released.

Most Telegraphed Ending: The minute Survivor’s Andrea started talking about how sorry she felt for about-to-be-blindsided Brenda, we knew exactly which of them would be having their torch snuffed by episode’s end.
Best Returns: ABC-axed sudsers All My Children and One Life To Live returned — via Hulu and iTunes — courtesy of production company Prospect Park. That sound you just heard? The soap fan in your life cheering.
Most Controversial List: As always, this year’s Daytime Emmy nominations left many scratching their heads over everything from the fact that The Bold & The Beautiful’s Scott Clifton was in the supporting category despite the show revolving around his character for the past year to General Hospital’s Lindsay Morgan getting a nod over such supposed shoe-ins as Kelly Sullivan, Finola Hughes, Kelly Monaco and Rebecca Herbst.

"Drop Dead Diva" survived its own brush with TV death earlier this year and now Lifetime has officially set the Season 5 premiere for Sunday, June 23 at 9 p.m.
That's right before the launch of the network's new series "Devious Maids" from "Desperate Housewives" executive producer Marc Cherry, and the same night the network's "The Client List" was expected to air its Season 2 finale (there's no official word yet if the Jennifer Love Hewitt series will wrap a week earlier or simply in a different timeslot).
As recently as February it looked as though "Diva" wouldn't be back, at least on Lifetime, after word leaked in January that the network had canceled the show. But a passionate outpouring from fans and some financial wheeling and dealing between the network and studio Sony Pictures TV led to a revival.

The irony of Lifetime's dramedy about a woman who gets a second chance at life and the show's own return from cancelation isn't lost on us. Fans should be happy to hear that "Drop Dead Diva" returns to Lifetime on Sunday, June 23 at 9/8c. Additionally, the series from "Bones" producer Josh Berman just revealed that it's bringing on a new angel. Justin Deeley has been cast to replace Carter McIntyre (who replaced Ben Feldman on Season 4) as Jane's (Brooke Elliot) guardian angel. Also read: 'Drop Dead Diva' Back From the Grave,...
