After 35 years, Teen Witch star Robyn Lively‘s biggest fan might just be her little sister.
Marking the cult teen fantasy comedy’s milestone anniversary, the actress recalled how sister Blake Lively “would fan-girl over me” when Teen Witch premiered in 1989, and she continues to be a “massive” fan of the Dorian Walker-helmed film.
“It’s a family favorite, but not among my immediate family,” Robyn told Jezebel. “My kids love it, but it’s different. For my younger siblings… Blake was — and is — a massive Teen Witch fan. Like, she would fan-girl over me.”
In true stan fashion, Blake and husband Ryan Reynolds even recreated the film’s ‘Final Hour’ dance sequence for their 2012 wedding.
Teen Witch stars Robyn as high school nerd Louise Miller (Zelda Rubinstein), who learns from psychic Madame Serena that she possesses magical abilities, which kick in when she turns 16. With her newfound powers,...

Fox Entertainment’s ad-supported streamer Tubi has ordered the TV movie “Classmates,” from the wife and husband team of Danielle Fishel (“Boy Meets World”) and Jensen Karp. Fishel directed and Karp wrote the film, which will debut in 2023.
Anjelica Bette Fellini (“The French Dispatch”) and Kayden Muller-Janssen (“The Villains of Valley View”) star in the film as former high school classmates Anabella and Raury, who have their identities swapped on the first day of college due to a computer hack.
Per the logline: “Despite entirely different backgrounds, races, and personalities, Anabella convinces Raury to leave the mistake uncorrected. The decision to go with the flow creates a massive ripple effect when one of their parents’ shady dealings puts them both in danger. Together, the girls find themselves running for their lives and must put aside their differences if they want to survive. Of course, the best of enemies often become the best of friends,...

"Star Trek: Lower Decks," currently in its third season, took its name from an episode of "Star Trek: The Next Generation." Originally airing on February 7, 1994, The NextGen "Lower Decks" introduced several lower-ranking officers, and depicted what life on the Enterprise-d would look like from their perspective. Trekkies could easily see what space adventures were like for Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden), but few knew the inner life of Nurse Ogawa (Patti Yasutake). Also in the episode were a very Boimler-like Ensign Lavelle (Dan Gauthier), the very Tendi-like Ensign Sito (Shannon Fill), and the Vulcan, Ensign Taurik. Bruce Beatty played a character named Ben who was a mere civilian.
The point of "Lower Decks" was to show that lower-ranking officers aren't made savvy to the plots and machinations on the bridge. They don't get to sit in the conference room with the senior staff. They only have to follow orders. Although...

We don’t normally do Blu-ray release announcements here on Nerdly, but when one of my favourite 80s teen movies (I mean that sincerely, despite how much the film is derided) is set for feature-packed release, I can’t help but shout it from the rooftops!
What film could possibly get me this excited you might ask? Well probably not if you’ve read the title of this post… I digress… but yes, Teen Witch - that pantheon of 80s chic and the butt of numerous “bad movie” jokes – is set for a Blu-ray release in the Us next year from Kino Lorber/Scorpion Releasing. Just check out that cover art:
From the press release:
Romance is the most powerful spell of all…or so one teenager learns in this fun teen fantasy starring Robyn Lively (Chicago Hope), Zelda Rubinstein (the Poltergeist trilogy), Dan Gauthier (Beverly Hills, 90210) and Dick Sargent...

Good genes run in the Lively family! Blake Lively was snapped on the streets of New York City over the weekend, spending some quality time with her half sister, Robyn Lively. The "Gossip Girl" alum, who's in the Big Apple shooting the upcoming Woody Allen film, looked picture-perfect in a Peuterey fur jacket, which she paired with dark denim, lace-up booties and tousled waves. Her 43-year-old sis looked cute and casual in jeans, tans boots and a two-toned gray sweater. Don't these two look like they just stepped out of a hair commercial?! With that fiery red hair, Robyn actually doesn't look too much different than she did in her "Teen Witch" days back in 1989. The actress, who played Louise Miller in the '80s cult classic, recently opened up about her most memorable role ... and her sex scene with Dan Gauthier. "That was an added scene because they wanted...

Seriously, you can't top this! Teen Witch fans rejoice, because Robyn Lively just joined Instagram! The actress — Blake Lively's older half-sister — posted an amazing throwback photo from the 1989 cult classic on Thursday, April 16. There's plenty of scenes to choose from ("Most Popular Girl" or "Top That" come to mind!), but Lively opted to share one from the movie's epic high school dance finale. In the scene, Louise Miller (Lively) throws her spellbinding necklace to the side to reveal that hunky Brad Powell (Dan Gauthier) [...]...

It’s the fight of the year month week as every 20/30-something girl’s favorite cult classic takes on…well, a cult. Yes, you guessed it. It’s Teen Witch verses Twilight in a fight to the finish. Vampires verses a little Gypsy palm-reader, a vegetarian heartthrob faces a Tom Cruise clone who went on to drug Pauly Shore in Son in Law and, of course, a 16-year-old girl steps up to battle a Zoloft-popping gal who is in love with a bloody-thirsty (and quite dapper) vampire from the 18th century.
Take your seats ladies and gentlemen. This is going to get nasty.
The Contenders:
Teen Witch: I must have missed this one when it came out in 1989. Growing up I was all about the wacky “Teen” movies where some pathetic kid learns that he/she has a horrible disability which originally makes them a certified freak, but later makes them prom royalty.
