Most of ABC's existing scripted series have already been renewed for the 2024-25 season, but The Conners is not among them. If the venerable comedy doesn't get a seventh season renewal, viewers will still get some closure.
Starring John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara, and Jay R. Ferguson, The Conners series is a spin-off of Roseanne. The story follows Dan Conner (Goodman), his children, grandchildren, and sister-in-law as they make their way in the working-class community of Lanford, Illinois.

“The Conners” is making its way to off-net syndication, as Tom Werner’s Werner Entertainment has stuck a deal with both Lionsgate Worldwide Television Distribution Group and Debmar-Mercury to distribute the sitcom’s first five seasons (and future seasons as well). “The Conners” will be sold for a fall 2024 launch in domestic syndication.
Under the deal, Lionsgate’s Worldwide Television Distribution Group will oversee international distribution, including SVOD, AVOD, basic cable and Fast rights, while Debmar-Mercury (which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lionsgate) will handle domestic syndication.

The Conners could possibly be prepping to say goodbye to viewers with the upcoming sixth season. In a recent interview and ahead of the Season 5 finale, executive producer Bruce Helford hinted that the ABC sitcom could be heading into its last season.
“Sara Gilbert expressed to the network that we don’t want to go out without knowing that we are going out with a series finale so we can build to the right ending — and at this point in time, we feel that [next season] is possibly going to be the last season of The Conners,” Helford told TVLine.
Helford continued, “I would not [say that] definitively because the numbers were so good this season, and we’ve all had a really great time… but it’s definitely a possibility.”
The Conners has not been picked up for Season 6 yet but a renewal is seemingly looking good as the cast continues to negotiate their contracts.
