Among the Debmar-Mercury projects in development that Burstein is spearheading are two game-show formats -- "Trivial Pursuit: Hot Seat," from executive producer Tom Gutteridge, and "The Limit," from Scott Sternberg -- both of which the company is bringing to Mipcom this month.
"Lonnie's collaborative, forward-thinking contributions have played a key role in our brisk growth and successful transition into original programming," Debmar-Mercury co-president Mort Marcus said.

LONDON -- Mark Rowland, the man in charge of the successful international rollout of "Robot Wars" and "Paradise Hotel", is the second senior executive in as many weeks to resign from Television Corp., which has been rocked by a poor recent financial performance largely attributed to problems at its postproduction unit. The resignation Tuesday of Rowland as managing director of Television Corp.'s international unit comes only two weeks after a similar move by Tom Gutteridge, who resigned his board seat and his role of creative director at the independent U.K. TV production company. Rowland, a former BBC producer who worked with Gutteridge at Mentorn, the independent producer purchased by Television Corp. three years ago, said the international division is in "very good shape" and that "after a record year -- including a major U.S. hit in 'Paradise Hotel' for Fox and the honor of a Queen's Award for Enterprise for international trade -- it's a good moment to move on and seek new challenges."...

Fox Broadcasting Co. has extended the run of the summer reality series Paradise Hotel by six additional weeks with the order of another dozen episodes. The show, which airs twice a week, features a revolving group of single men and women living together in an exotic resort with one guest eliminated every week to make room for a new one. There will be a seamless transition between the initial eight-week run and the new batch of episodes. Paradise premiered June 18 to modest numbers but has been inching up in recent weeks, even against heightened competition from unscripted fare on NBC and CBS. Paradise Hotel hails from British production company Mentorn and U.S.-based A. Smith & Co. Tom Gutteridge, Charles Thompson, Arthur Smith and Kent Weed are executive producers. "We're delighted that the audience has found the show and that Fox has given us such a terrific support," Gutteridge said. "We're thrilled to be extended so soon into our run." "We think we have a real wonderful reality soap opera on our hands," Smith said.
