The best WWE PPVs are more than great wrestling cards. For fans, they are the milestone moments that chart the evolution of not just storylines and feuds but our fandom for this often silly (and sometimes worse) business. They’re not only filled with great matches, hot crowds, and all-time moments, but those special, often indefinable qualities that can put a smile on your face just by thinking of them.
For that reason, we’re looking back at the very best PPVs in WWE history. Just keep in mind that we’re only looking at WWE PPVs (and PLEs) for this list. That means no PPVs produced by other promotions and no Nxt shows. Those shows are more than worthy of their own lists.

In the 1980s, you would have been hard-pressed to find anybody who had access to cocaine not on cocaine. And that especially went for those in the world of entertainment. As such, it was only a matter of time before a movie would give it the spotlight…and that movie was 1983’s Scarface. Appropriately enough, Oliver Stone — then a serious lover of booger sugar — was tasked to write Scarface. All he needed to do was kick his habit…
In an excerpt from the new book “The World Is Yours: The Story of Scarface”, Oliver Stone remembered being in serious need of a hit, having just helmed flop The Hand. At the time, he admitted, “I was on cocaine. I was doing cocaine, and I was really an addict, without knowing it.” He added, “I did all the research for Scarface on cocaine, in and out of the country. It was...

Sting has emerged victorious in his last match and will now retire as an Aew Tag Team champion. Sting and Darby Allin beat the Young Bucks in the main event of Sunday’s Revolution after the iconic boxer got Matt Jackson to tap out to the Scorpion Death Lock. Sting, real name Steve Borden, is famously known for the monochromatic paint on his face, which many dubbed as the ‘Crow gimmick’. However, Borden shared that he never modeled himself after Brandon Lee’s The Crow.

The release date for WWE 2K24 is getting closer, and fans have been waiting to get their hands on it. The upcoming title will also include a 40 Years of WrestleMania edition, so fans can look forward to reliving some iconic matches. The roster for the game is also looking good, with several returning characters joined by a few surprise entries.
Among them, however, fans have noticed the absence of one superstar, leading to a lot of confusion, especially as the Showcase mode is filled with former WWE legends, so missing out on this particular superstar makes little to no sense, but that could still change before the game is out.
WWE 2K24 Showcase Matches Could Still Feature This Superstar

The prosecutors participating in the 2020 Fulton County, Georgia, election fraud case indicated that they are searching for ways to sentence Donald Trump and the other co-defendants in the case to prison.
One email, in a batch newly released under Georgia’s public records law, contains an exchange between the former president’s defense lawyers and prosecutors showing that District Attorney of Fulton County Fani Willis suggested that the attorneys had a lengthy road ahead of them.
Willis said, “Long after these folks are in jail, we will still be practicing law.”
Another exchange between the defense lawyers and Willis showed Trump attorney Steve Sadow sharing that he was upset about an unfinished Rudy Giuliani transcript.
The attorney had a problem with the language utilized by the defense and stated that Trump’s team would be given the entire transcript in the next production of discovery.

In October, former Trump lawyers Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro both agreed to write apology letters after their guilty pleas in the Fulton County, Georgia, election fraud case, which indicted 19 people for trying to overturn the state’s 2020 presidential election results.
Their letters, which were acquired by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution via an open records request, were each one sentence long, seeming to mock prosecutors.
“I apologize for my actions in connection with the events in Coffee County,” Powell said in her letter written on October 19.
“I apologize to the citizens of the State of Georgia and of Fulton County for my involvement in Count 15 of the indictment,” Chesebro declared in his apology letter written on October 20.
The letters do not address the legitimacy of President Joe Biden winning Georgia’s 2020 election or condemn the unfounded conspiracy theories they promoted to claim that Trump had been fraudulently cheated out of victory.

Georgia prosecutors have added former Vice President Mike Pence to the list of witnesses who could be called to testify in Donald Trump’s upcoming election interference Rico trial, according to a report from CNN.
More than 150 individuals, including Pence, have reportedly been included in the Fulton County witness list, which remains under seal.
While Pence was compelled by Special Counsel Jack Smith to testify before a grand jury in the Justice Department’s federal election interference case against Trump, the former vice president has so far skirted significant involvement in the Fulton County case.

Since the summer, Donald Trump’s legal teams have been wracked by one abiding fear: betrayal.
On one front, the former president’s inner circle has fretted about how many co-defendants in the Fulton County criminal case — or co-conspirators in the special counsel probes — might turn against him, accept a plea deal, and cooperate with the prosecutors. But lingering beneath the fear of disloyalty lies another, darker fear about whether anyone anyone still working in, or close to, Trump’s inner orbit could already secretly be working with prosecutors.

On Tuesday, Donald Trump’s campaign attorney, Jenna Ellis, pleaded guilty to making false statements to Georgia lawmakers about election fraud in 2020.
Ellis admitted to helping spread misinformation by claiming that nearly 100,000 mail-in ballots were fraudulently cast, 2,500 felons illegally voted, 60,000 underage people illegally voted and more than 10,000 dead people in Georgia voted in the 2020 presidential election.
“I relied on others, including lawyers with many more years of experience than I do to provide me with true and reliable information,” Ellis told Judge Scott McAfee on Tuesday. “What I did not do, but should have done Your Honor, was to make sure that the facts the other lawyers alleged to be true were, in fact, true. In the frenetic pace of attempting to raise challenges to the election in several states, including Georgia, I failed to do my due diligence.”

Sidney Powell, a prominent member of Donald Trump’s legal team in 2020, pleaded guilty on Thursday to six misdemeanor counts on charges of attempting to tamper with election results and spread false election fraud claims in Georgia.
In a courtroom at the Fulton County Superior Court, Powell was sentenced to six years of probation, a less severe outcome than what she may have faced if found guilty of the seven felonies she was originally charged with, including a violation of the state racketeering law.
She has also agreed to testify against the other defendants, which include Trump and his former lawyer, Rudy Giuliani.

When it comes crashing down and it hurts inside, then it might be time to step away from the drugs and alcohol. And that’s just what pro wrestler, suburban commando and Richard Belzer choker-outer Hulk Hogan had to do when it started running wild on him.

WWE 2K23 features quite a few improvements to the franchise formula that will certainly be welcomed by wrestling game fans everywhere. Of course, some things never change, which means that WWE 2K23 still makes you unlock quite a few wrestlers via gameplay accomplishments and by spending both real and virtual currency.
The very good news is that WWE 2K23 makes the various unlock processes fairly painless. The problem is that the game doesn’t always do a great job of telling you exactly how to unlock those wrestlers or the best way to go about acquiring all of them. Hopefully, we can help ease that part of the unlock system just a bit.
How to Unlock Every WWE 2K23 Wrestler With Virtual Currency
The vast majority of wrestlers in WWE 2K23 are unlocked via the game’s Virtual Currency (Vc) system. Every wrestler available via the in-game store costs 1,000 Vc to unlock.

Wrestling legend Bret Hart may not have the major Hollywood motion capture experience of fellow professional wrestlers and franchise superstars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson or Dave Bautista (who keeps his WWE connection strong), but his mo-cap resume extends much farther back. The Hitman’s shot at mo-cap came in the mid-’90s for the video game WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game and he remembers the experience as fun but daunting.
On the most recent episode of the WWE Network series This Is Awesome, titled “Most Awesome Wrestling Games”–in which “WWE Superstars relive the nostalgia of battling their buddies back in the day and debate the classics”–Bret Hart reflected on the intensity of doing motion capture on the game, both good and bad.

The son of WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash, Tristen, has died according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.
Tristen was 26, and a time and cause of death were not provided to the public.
Sapp’s statement read, “Tristen recently started working on Kevin’s new podcast and the two enjoyed their time together.”
Tristen had been working on the production team for Kliq This: The Kevin Nash podcast.
He was Kevin’s only child with wife Tamara Nash.
The pair had rebuilt their relationship following difficulties in the past. One night in 2014, Kevin was arrested for battery against Tristen, and then police returned to the residence to arrest Tristen for battery against Tamara.
It’s been a tough year for Kevin Nash. In March, wrestler Scott Hall, a close friend and and collaborator of Nash’s, passed away.
Very unfortunate news to share. Sending love to the family of Tristen Nash.

Jamaa Fanaka’s Penitentiary (1979) is about boxing, but its first, longest, and most brutal fight centers on grappling. In lieu of boxing’s reliance on discrete blows, the combatants—protagonist Martel “Too Sweet” Gordone (Leon Isaac Kennedy) and “Half Dead” Johnson (Badja Djola)—spend most of the grueling, eight-minute struggle in a variety of arm locks and chokeholds. With boxing, one punch ends before the next is thrown, which means that, in theory, a nimble fighter could go entire rounds without being struck. By contrast, this scene conveys a sense of unrelenting tension, a constant straining of every bodily fiber to survive for one second longer, to come out just barely on top. There’s no respite, no time-out between bouts, just a state of extreme and prolonged exertion. Enhancing this impression is the low-key lighting, which shades and accentuates the fighters’ muscular contours to suggest bodies wound tight with fear and adrenaline,...

Wrestling is a big man’s game, and when you look at the documented history of WWE, names such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, Razor Ramon, Andre The Giant, The Rock, Bret Hart, and The Undertaker have several things in common: They’re tall guys who would never be mistaken as cruiserweights. The term cruiserweight was made famous by World Championship Wrestling, which made the division hot by showcasing world-class wrestlers who weren’t just heavyweights that the wrestling world were used to. The most infamous to come out of that division are Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, Dean Malenko, X-Pac (Who was Synxx

Wrestling legends manage to last for a long time after they fade, and many of them are revered for quite a while after their passing. In the case of Scott Hall, or Razor Ramon, as many WWE fans will remember him, the exploits of his life might stand out as a success as well as a cautionary tale. In all fairness, Hall started out as a face during his wrestling career as much of his work, that many people might know next to nothing about, was as a hero in the ring. That feels out of place with what people

“Hard work pays off, dreams come true. Bad times don’t last, but bad guys do.” These words were spoken by Scott Hall during his first of two WWE Hall of Fame inductions in 2014. News initially broke by Pw Torch on Sunday that Hall was placed on life support after suffering three heart attacks as a result of a blot clot. Complications following hip replacement surgery at the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia. It seems that every year we go in to the biggest WWE show of the year bemoaning some lacking build-ups or facing constant internet pessimism but there’s something so magical about this event for fans. So, as we give it another go in Tampa Bay at the Raymond James Stadium (the venue meant for last year), the fans have returned and “WrestleMania is Back in Business”. And once agin we have two nights of action, with the second looking more stacked but the first featuring a historic main event. There were a lot of hopes, a lot of speculation and as we will soon find one hell of an unexpected heel turn by mother nature. What better way to mark my official first year of WWE Roobla reviewing! This is WrestleMania baby, there’s lots to get through, so let us not waste time…

Match #1: Bayley & Sasha Banks def. Naomi & Lacey Evans The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The unlikely duo of Naomi & Lacey Evans caught Bayley and the returning Sasha Banks last week on Friday Night SmackDown, defeating them in tag team action, but the SmackDown Women’s Champion & The Boss looked to retaliate tonight in this rematch. Naomi received a much-needed tag from Lacey and went on a tear, launching herself over the top rope to wipe out Bayley and pulverizing Sasha with a series of blistering kicks. Naomi went for the split-legged moonsault, but Bayley interfered from the apron, and Sasha took advantage by striking with Meteora to defeat The Glow.
My Opinion: 2.4 out of 5 – Hey, at least Bayley/Sasha Banks won. This wasn’t worth watching.

Aew's much-maligned group has taken on some serious Nwo undertones the last two weeks ...
The Dark Order has been a maligned group in Aew. From their debut over the summer to the ill-timed push the group has been receiving since Aew Dynamite debuted on TNT this past fall, every step for the Dark Order has been met with heavy criticism.
Not enough was done to build the characters. Formerly the Super Smash Brothers, no explanation was given to longtime wrestling fans on why the team had new personas. At the same time, to new Aew fans who maybe didn't see the Super Smash Brothers in Roh or the indie scene, little was done to introduce them or tell the audience their backstory.
They were this group of evil, who had followers in masks, and they existed merely to exist. One of Aew's biggest missteps since the launch...

Welcome to this week’s Ring Of Honor review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have one damn match, but it is a good one. Carly Simon likes to beat “Boys In The Trees”. There is a time and a place to eat a man’s face, but now is not that time. We’ve got wrestling to get to, so no eating a man’s face…with A1 dribbled on the jaw meat as it grilled for twenty minutes with red onions and filets of juicy pineapple sauntering above the smooth, curled skin clinging to the moist, tender strip of upper lip. Mmmmmm…cannibalism. Augygchlkhlggkc! This TalkTech system sure does make it easier to say bizarre $#!@.

Mansoor brought the fight to the big man, stunning Priest with hard-to-predict aerial strikes and eye-popping reversals. Slick maneuvers and boundless courage, however, were not enough to propel Mansoor to victory on this night.

So, fans of WWE (and wrestling in general) will likely have heard the latest news that Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff, two mainstays of pro-wrestling for decades, have been given brand-new roles in WWE as Executive Directors of Raw and Smackdown Live respectively. These, as far as news has told us, aren’t on-screen roles, but will give Heyman and Bischoff control over their respective brands and the two men will be responsible for overseeing the creative output of each show.
This is huge news and has been greeted with more positive than negative by fans. I’m in the camp that says “yay, something new to help shake things up and possibly improve the overall WWE product” and so should everyone else be.
2019 pro-wrestling is a very different animal to the animal that growled and prowled when Heyman and Bischoff were in charge of Ecw and WCW respectively in the late 90s.
