Patricia Richardson is shutting down those Home Improvement reunion rumors that have been circulating.
The longtime actress played Tim Allen‘s wife Jill on the series, which ran through the ’90s.
In recent months, Tim has alluded to the possibility of getting the cast together again for a new series. However, Patricia made it abundantly clear that this was not happening during a recent interview.

While on the Back to the Best podcast, the actress said that she was not remotely interested in playing Jill again. That is only one reason that a reboot wouldn’t happen, according to her.
“I mean, Zach is now a felon,” she said, alluding to Zachery Ty Bryan‘s many legal issues (via EW). “Taran [Noah Smith, who played Mark] hasn’t acted since he left the show; he’s not an actor anymore. And Jonathan [nm4763476 autoTaylor Thomas...

Patricia Richardson, who played Tim Allen’s onscreen wife Jill in the 1990s sitcom Home Improvement, is driving a nail into hopes of a reboot.
Richardson says she was never approached about a possible reunion — Allen has made comments about how the entire cast was on board — and adds she would not be interested.
“It was so weird, I would hear he was coming out publicly and saying this stuff about everyone was on board to do a Home Improvement reunion, but he never asked me and he never asked Jonathan [Taylor Thomas],” Richardson said on Thursday’s episode of the Back to the Best podcast.
“I called Jonathan one day and said, ‘Has he asked you about this? He went, ‘No.’ So why is he saying everyone is on board when he hasn’t talked to you or me?” Richardson said.

Uuuuahhhhhhhhh?!? Patricia Richardson is perplexed by Tim Allen’s recent claims about a Home Improvement reboot series. Richardson played Jill Taylor, the wife of Tim “The Toolman” Taylor in the 1990s sitcom, whose iron grip on the Taylor household helped keep the family unit from falling into disrepair. Expressing confusion about Allen’s claims that the entire cast is ready to reunite for a reboot series, Richardson confirmed she’s disinterested in reprising her iconic role.

Malachy McCourt, the Irish-American actor, raconteur and author best known to TV audiences for his long-running role as Kevin the bartender on ABC’s soap Ryan’s Hope, died today in Manhattan after battling a heart condition and cancer. He was 92.
His death was announced by his wife Diana McCourt to The New York Times.
The brother of Pulitzer Prize-winning Angela’s Ashes memoirist Frank McCourt, Malachy McCourt left an indelible mark on New York City’s Irish American community. As the owner of the quintessential 1950s Irish pub Malachy’s on Third Avenue in Manhattan – McCourt would often call it the city’s first singles bar, since he welcomed unaccompanied women to the establishment – the Brooklyn native became one of the city’s great story-tellers, regaling patrons from longshoremen to the actor Richard Harris with blarney, rugby talk and biographical anecdotes.

Home Improvement was one of the most popular sitcoms on television in the mid-90s. The show followed the Taylor family and their misadventures with home improvement projects. One of the key members of the Home Improvement cast was Taran Noah Smith, who played the youngest son, Mark.
While Smith left acting behind after the show ended, he has found success in a surprising new career. He now works for Elon Musk after creating a vegan cheese.

Pamela Anderson is opening up about her experience in the entertainment industry.
The actress and model is set to release her upcoming memoir "Love, Pamela" on January 31.
Variety obtained an excerpt from the book, delving into an alleged incident when Pamela started working on the hit sitcom Home Improvement.
Anderson, who appeared as Lisa the Tool Time Girl for 23 episodes from 1991-1993, said in the excerpt that Tim Allen flashed her on the first day of filming.
"On the first day of filming, I walked out of my dressing room, and Tim was in the hallway in his robe. He opened his robe and flashed me quickly — completely naked underneath," according to the book excerpt.
"He said it was only fair because he had seen me naked. Now we're even. I laughed uncomfortably."
Allen vehemently denied the incident happened in a statement released through his representative.
"No, it never happened.

A superb thriller is now better than ever on 4K. We’ve always known why it rewards viewings: it’s both thrilling and funny. When Robert Shaw, Martin Balsam and Hector Elizondo hijack a subway train, Walter Matthau must scramble to collect a ransom while trying to figure out how they’ll make their escape. Peter Stone’s dialogue is delightful — the loud & mouthy ’70s New Yorkers are hilariously abrasive — and lovable. “Who wants to know?!!!” Includes a Blu-ray disc and a new commentary.

Tim Allen reprised his role as Home Improvement‘s Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor during Thursday’s Last Man Standing. In the episode, Vanessa hired the former Tool Time host (who was sporting a vintage Binford Tools t-shirt) to handle a series of home repairs. The half-hour concluded with a very meta conversation between Allen’s alter egos, which also alluded to the Fox sitcom’s fast-approaching series finale.

The final season of Last Man Standing is just weeks away, and we recently learned that Tim Allen will be playing dual roles during one of the final episodes.
Allen is set to reprise the role of Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor for the special episode, which is an unexpected crossover between Last Man Standing and Allen's previous hit, Home Improvement.
Home Improvement has not been on the air since 1999, so bringing the character, he played back to the forefront brought up a lot of memories.
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor said that he got emotional when he recalled the 2003 death of former co-star Earl Hindman, who starred as the Taylors' neighbor Wilson W. Wilson on Home Improvement.
"It was challenging for me to do both parts and kind of emotional. I adored [Earl Hindman] and we kind of brought that up in the story," the beloved actor shared.

There were many motion pictures made in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s that depict New York City as a less than desirable place to be. A hell on earth full of crime, grime, sin, debauchery, drugs, gangs, and corruption. You know the titles—The Out of Towners, Midnight Cowboy, Joe, Taxi Driver…
While the portrayal may very well have been true, to a certain extent, this reviewer lived in Manhattan over a decade during the relevant years and found it to be the most exciting, vibrant, culturally potent, and beautifully stimulating environment. Not only that, the #6 Irt train is one this reviewer rode almost daily, so the stops, the milieu, and the atmosphere were dead-on familiarities. As some of us like to say today in the age when 42nd Street and Times Square have been “Disney-ized,” we...

A one-off would be the best idea possible for Home Improvement as trying to get the cast in line for another run at the show doesn’t sound like it would work all that well, especially given that Earl Hindman, aka Wilson, passed away back in 2003. There’s also no telling just how easy or difficult it would be to get the boys back and reassemble the entire cast so that it could be started up once again. As Kevin Burwick of TVWeb has revealed, Tim Allen actually believes in the one-off idea and would rather see it implemented rather than

Tim Allen‘s grunting days may not be over: The Last Man Standing star says that he remains open to a Home Improvement revival.
“I always think about it, because I still talk to everybody involved,” Allen recently told TVLine. “The question I had was, ‘Is it still relevant? Is Tim Taylor relevant in the Mike Baxter world?’ Because Mike Baxter is like a real version of Tim Taylor; he’s not such a joke. And the [Outdoor Man] vlogs are like Mike’s version of Tool Time done as a web series.”

It seems like every other hit show from the 80s and 90s is getting a revival series, why not add Home Improvement to the list. Tim Allen seems very much open to the idea of reprising his role of Tim "The Toolman" Taylor in a revival.

The cast of the fan favorite show Home Improvement seemed to scatter to the winds once the show was finally taken off the air. A good number of them seemed to just drop out of show business while those that you might have expected to thrive went off and did their own things for a while. There wasn’t a big surprise when a few of them went on to do great things, but the fact that a couple of them almost fell off the map was kind of surprising. One among them, Earl Hindman, was a sad loss when he

Trains in cinema have always made for an excitable source within the realm of the comedy, drama, mystery or suspense pertaining to the plot of a particular film. The setting for the featured trains as the driving force of entertainment serves as the heart and soul of the action for the most part.
In some cases using trains as a last minute symbolic theme for a film can generate great impact that thrives and questions the motives and urgency of the characters and storyline (i.e. the climax scene in The Defiant Ones where the salt-and-pepper escaped convicts Tony Curtis and Sidney Poitier try and make a desperate dash for permanent freedom on a speeding train en route to permanent freedom). Perhaps a train could also add an extra element of action-packed excitement in a film’s conclusive ending such as the uncontrollable commuter train in Speed?

The Rules Of The Game (Criterion) Jean Renoir’s classic from 1939 was met with a riot at its premiere and was severely cut by its distributor, available only in truncated form for two decades until it was restored to the grandeur for which it is celebrated today. A biting comedy of manners set in the upstairs and downstairs of a French country estate, the film bitterly vivisects the bourgeoisie with a gentle ferocity that will tickle the laughter in your throat. Renoir co-stars as Octave. Also available on Blu-ray disc. Bonuses: Introduction to the film by Renoir; Commentary written by scholar Alexander Sesonske and read by Peter Bogdanovich; Comparison of the film’s two endings; Selected scene analysis by Renoir scholar Chris Faulkner; Featurettes and vintage film clips; Part one of David Thomson’s “Jean Renoir” BBC documentary; Video essay; Interviews with Renoir, crew members,...

One of the joys of the current Blu-ray era is that studios have been delving into their libraries and restoring gems, releasing them with varying degrees of love and care. We’ve recently seen, for example, the arrival of musical greats West Side Story and My Fair Lady. But studios have also been working to bring back the really good films that have been somewhat forgotten. They may not get the deluxe restoration or bonus features, but it’s nice to have clean prints and high definition editions so we can still enjoy them at home. I’m reminded of all this because out now is the original The Taking of Pelham One Two Three. This film, starring Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw, is based on a novel and was one of my favorite films of the 1970s. I was interested to see the Tony Scott remake a few years...

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the first episode of Home Improvement on ABC. That's right, it's been two decades since we first saw Tool Time with power-tooler Tim Taylor (Tim Allen), Al Borland (Richard Karn), and Lisa (Pamela Anderson) -- not to mention Tim's long-suffering family; spouse Jill (Patricia Richardson) and three children Brad (Zachery Ty Bryan), Randy (Jonathan Taylor Thomas) and Mark (Taran Noah Smith).
EW recently reunited the cast for their upcoming reunion issue that comes out on October 8th. Richardson let the cat out of the bag via Twitter so the magazine published a preview photo. Sadly, the Taylors' over-the-fence neighbor, Wilson (Earl Hindman), wasn't present. He passed away in 2003.
The magazine notes that this was the first time that the surviving cast has been together since Thomas left the show in 1998. It's hard to believe that he just...

The three creators of ABC's very popular Home Improvement sitcom are back at work for the alphabet network.
Matt Williams, Carmen Finestra, and David McFadzean created Home Improvement back in 1991, based on the stand-up comedy of Tim Allen. The family sitcom ran for 204 episodes and stars Allen, Patricia Richardson, Zachery Ty Bryan, Taran Noah Smith, Richard Karn, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, and Earl Hindman.
During the successful eight season run of Home Improvement, Williams, Finestra and McFadzean and the show were nominated for Emmys three times.
The trio now has a new project with ABC. A family sitcom, the show revolves around a sports psychologist who's also the father of three kids. The Dad runs his office out of his home (ala Jason Seaver from Growing Pains) and has to find a way to balance his job with...

Modern thrillers, and action films to an extent, seem to me to take themselves pretty seriously. I love the 'Bourne' films, which are probably the new benchmark of modern thriller filmmaking, but there seems very little time taken in contemporary thrillers to give the audience little respites of humor, even in the relationships between characters.
Action-thrillers from the 1970s seem to me to have a much greater sense of fun and levity to them. A film like The French Connection, doubtless as gritty and downright thrilling as any film you will ever see, has a huge number of terrific lines and moments between the lead characters that bring them down to earth and away from Superman-like invincibility.
Then there's The Taking of Pelham One Two Three. Not forgotten by any means, but there’s no doubt that it has been overtaken in the public's collective memory by the more revolutionary...
