There's nothing I love more than closing out a season with positive renewal news... Yay!
Especially since Killjoys seriously upped the ante in its second season. The incredible world building opened up, our characters evolved plus we met a few new players, and the writing was consistently terrific. We laughed. We cried. We were shocked, but in the end always entertained.
I have zero complaints about this finale. They even brought Clara back and gave us an outstanding space battle. How about those VFX guys?
Yeah, I could not be more satisfied with Killjoys Season 2 Episode 10.

A ton of information was thrown at us in the first half of this installment. Though it was important to learn how it all began, I admit I struggled a bit to wrap my head around it all. Things made much more sense after a second viewing.

When I start a Lost Girl review (check out my season 3 review here) I always want to compare it to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Bo is a fantasy character easily comparable to Buffy in favourable ways, but I’d argue that as a show like Lost Girl should really be looked at on its own merits and not as just another show to keep the Vampire Slayer fans happy. Saying that, is being favourably compared to Buffy such a bad thing? In Lost Girl: The Complete Fourth Season, Bo and her friends are facing an evil that is more confusing than anything, just who is The Wanderer and is he even the season’s “Big Bad”?
Coming off the third season which saw Bo (Anna Silk) vanish, leaving behind nothing but the Wanderer card the fourth starts with a world without her, nobody seems to even know she existed.

Last weekend I was with my fellow ComicMixers Glenn Hauman, Adriane Nash and Martha Thomases at the annual MoCCA independent comics convention. And by “independent,” I mean web comics, self-published comics, small press comics, and what Ms. Nash refers to as “I’d rather be hand-stapled” comics. It’s one of my favorite shows for one simple reason: the enthusiasm in the room is tremendous.
I’d say that the average age of the creators who weren’t paying for one of the few corporate booths (Fantagraphics, Yoe Books, Abrams, etc.) was about 25 years old. Which means there was a lot of dyed hair and hipster hats in Manhattan’s Beaux-Arts 69th Regiment Armory. These are folks who, by and large, couldn’t care less about capes and masks and thought Captain America: The Winter Soldier was a fun movie but not necessarily a justification for one’s choice of vocation.

According to TorontoFilm.Net, Canada's Showcase has greenlit a fifth season of the Toronto-lensed supernatural series "Lost Girl" for 13 episodes. Starring Anna Silk, production starts on Season Five Spring 2014, set to air Fall 2014.
"Rooted in folklore and mythology, 'Lost Girl' has inspired a passionate and dedicated fan following with its deeply engaging characters, richly imagined universe and boundary-pushing storylines," said Barbara Williams, Senior Vice President, Content, Shaw Media.
"We’re looking forward to season five building on the exciting and fantastical plotlines."
"...'Lost Girl' follows supernatural seductress 'Bo' (Silk), a tough yet loveable 'Succubus' who feeds off sexual energy. Since realizing she is part of the 'Fae', creatures of legend and folklore who live among humans, Bo has resisted choosing an allegiance to either the 'Dark' or 'Light' Fae clans.

Some networks are basically shutting down operations, at least as far as new content goes, during the Olympics. Go figure. Given that, at least here in the west, Olympics coverage seems to be a minimum of 12 hours old, it’s not like the results are a surprise. Happily, Fox is still showing a new Almost Human tonight, and Syfy is airing new eps of its great Monday lineup.

A quick reminder that Syfy is shuffling the 8pm and 10pm Monday shows beginning tonight is as good an excuse as any to post these TV spots for Bitten, now at 8/7c, Being Human, still at 9/8c, and Lost Girl, now at 10/9c. We also have a great clip from admittedly my very favorite of the three, the oh so very excellent Being Human. Enjoy!

Don’t miss any of them, and definitely give the new Bitten a try. A great lead character (who does her own martial arts stunts by the way), a slightly different take on werewolf mythology, and an interesting group of characters makes it worth your time to check out.
Thanks, Syfy, for making Mondays a good thing.

Starting Monday, Lost Girl will be moving back to its more familiar timeslot of 10/9c, while Bitten moves from that time to a great spot for a new show, 8/7c.
And yes, our beloved Being Human remains right where it belongs, Mondays at 9/8c. To celebrate, check out this hilarious featurette, an illustrated tour of the house:

Now that is seems that Lost Girl is handing out fantastic guest star casting news like candy, it’s time to get greedy big. Sure, the news last week that Bomb Girls star Ali Liebert, The L Word/Defiance star Mia Kirshner and needs-no-introduction George Takei would appear in Season 4 of the hit Showcase/Syfy show seemed almost too exciting to bear. But you mustn’t be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.
Lost Girl Executive Producer Emily Andras called the casting news a “LGBTnerdsplsion,” which sounds just about right. But things can always get even better. So let’s make a wish list for the rest of the season. As long as Lost Girl is looking to bring in an all-star cast of actresses who have played gay to guest star, we’re happy to help.
How about Lucy Lawless, Lena Headey or Lisa Ray?...

Season two of Lost Girl performed about the same as the first season. How will year three do? Will more or fewer people tune in? Will there be a fourth season? We'll have to wait and see what happens.
Lost Girl typically airs on Monday nights and there are 13 episodes (vs last season's 22 installments). The show features the talents of Anna Silk, K.C. Collins, Kris Holden-Ried, Ksenia Solo, Rick Howland, and Zoie Palmer.
Below are the most recent ratings for the third season of Lost Girl on Syfy. The TV show's ratings are typically the best way to tell if a series will be cancelled or renewed for another season. Because this show is licensed from Canada, the Us numbers may have less impact.
These figures will be updated as the weeks progress so be sure to bookmark and return...

Created by Michelle Lovretta, the supernatural crime series "Lost Girl" is produced by Prodigy Pictures, in association with Shaw Media, following the life of a 'succubus' named 'Bo', played by Anna Silk, "...as she learns to control her abilities, helps those in need, and discovers the truth about her origins..."

We don't mention it a lot around here, but Syfy's supernatural series "Lost Girl" is the number one original cable drama among Adults 18-49 and 25-54 in its time period (Monday, 10Pm) so it obviously has a lot of fans. Which must be why the network announced its renewal for a fourth season.
From the Press Release:
In the series’ current third season, which ends Monday, April 22nd, at 10Pm (Et/Pt), "Lost Girl" is averaging 676,000 Adults 18-49, 721,000 Adults 25-54, and 1.3 million total viewers. Look for 13 all-new episodes to begin airing in 2014.
Anna Silk (Being Erica) stars as seductress Bo, a Succubus (a powerful female entity in folklore) who feeds off sexual energy. Bo is one of the Fae, creatures of legend who pass as humans. Faced with choosing between an allegiance to the Dark or Light Fae clans, Bo takes the middle path between the human and Fae worlds...

Hopefully you’ve been watching this really fun, entertaining supernatural show. If not, now’s the time to get going on that. Lost Girl brings us new supernatural creatures nearly every week as well as longer story arcs, some nice fight scenes, great cast chemistry, and lots of sex between pretty people. What’s not to like?
The series is produced in Canada and airs on Showcase there; Showcase and Syfy both announced the new season pickup yesterday. Unfortunately, while Canada is getting the next season in late 2013, we in the U.S. have to wait until 2014. Hopefully that isn’t set in stone…

Kris Holden-Ried and Anna Silk star in Lost Girl.
The Canadian channel Showcase has ordered a fourth season of its supernatural series Lost Girl. The show has consistently been Showcase’s number one scripted series and is an international hit.
“Lost Girl remains an anchor series for Showcase, and with its sharp writing and palpable cast chemistry, it has amassed a fan following second-to-none,” said Barbara Williams, Senior Vice President, Content, Shaw Media. “We are delighted to bring fans another season of the series and can’t wait to see where the creative team takes the story next.”
Currently halfway through its third season on Showcase, Lost Girl is centered on sexy succubus Bo (Anna Silk). Bo is a strong-willed and independent member of a community of creatures of legend and folklore called Fae that exists in our modern world. Bo refuses to choose an allegiance to either the Dark or Light Fae clans,...

"Lost Girl," possibly the sexiest of all supernatural series, has been renewed for a fourth season by Syfy (in the United States) and Showcase (in Canada). There is no projected date for the beginning of Season 4 yet.
Currently airing episodes from the show's third season, "Lost Girl" averages 1.3 million total viewers during its Monday night time slot, making it the top original cable drama at that time. Considering that this puts "Lost Girl" up against strongly rated programs like "Castle" on ABC and "Hawaii Five-0" on CBS, this is an impressive number.
The show deals with the Fae, legendary and magical creatures who hide in plain sight among humans. The main character, Bo (Anna Silk), is a succubus and the main character, a young woman whose past has always been a mystery. This does, however, allow Bo the independence to choose her own path among humans and to not align...

Lost Girl follows supernatural seductress Bo (Anna Silk: Being Erica; Billable Hours), a Succubus who feeds on the sexual energy (sometimes called “chi”) of humans. Growing up with human parents, Bo had no reason to believe she was anything other than the girl next door – until she drained her boyfriend to death in their first sexual encounter. Now she has hit the road alone and afraid. She discovers she is one of the Fae, creatures of legend and folklore, who pass as humans while feeding off them secretly and in different ways, as they have for millennia. Relieved yet...

If you’ve never seen Lost Girl before, you don’t actually have time to catch up with the first two seasons before tonight’s Season 3 premiere. Do go back when you get time, because the first two seasons are fun and fantastical and sexy and badass, and they’re well worth a weekend on the couch. Fortunately, Syfy has provided this nifty introduction to the series and a clip which will give you enough info to head straight into tonight’s episode:
Lost Girl stars supernatural seductress Bo (played by Anna Silk, The Ghost Whisperer), a Succubus (a powerful female entity in folklore) who feeds off sexual energy. Picking up right after her victory in the final battle that concluded season two, Bo realizes she has created new alliances but also has reinvigorated old enemies – like The Morrigan (Emmanuelle Vaugier, Two and a Half Men), whom she crossed in...

"Lost Girl" was looking pretty bleak in season 2.
The Garuda was on the verge of destroying faedom until succubus Bo (Anna Silk) and her friends -- Dyson (Kris Holden-Ried), Kenzi (Ksenia Solo), Lauren (Zoie Palmer), Trick (Richard Howland) and Hale (K.C. Collins) -- managed to vanquish their ancient adversary. Victory came with a high price tag, though. Love was lost. Lives were sacrificed. Secrets were revealed and Bo embraced her dark side. In the aftermath, surely things have calmed down enough for the gang to pick up the pieces and catch their breath, right? Not exactly.
When the third season of "Lost Girl" kicks off on January 6 (on Showcase in Canada; Jan. 14 on SyFy in the Us), there will be a mysterious new fae named Tamsin ("Birds of Prey"'s Rachel Skarsten) in town. An imminent threat is also looming and Bo has been acting kind of strange lately...

It’s true; no matter what certain networks may claim about their “winter finales,” winter doesn’t actually start until December 21, and isn’t over until March 20. Syfy, at least, understands this, and has announced their appropriately-titled winter schedule accordingly.
Happily this means that, starting on Monday, January 14, 2013, we will have some great television to get us through the cold months, including the return of Being Human and Lost Girl, and the premiere of Continuum, and later in the week, the return of Ghost Hunters and Face Off.
Here’s the schedule of premieres, along with series synopses:
Syfy’S 2013 Winter Programming Highlighted By Series Premieres Of Ghost Mine, Robot Combat League, Stranded And Continuum Season Returns Of Hits Being Human, Face Off, Total Blackout, Ghost Hunters, Lost Girl, Haunted Collector And Final Season Of Merlin

Will Bo (Anna Silk) find a way to consistently handle her succubus abilities? Will Lost Girl continue to generate ratings so that Syfy will keep renewing the series for additional seasons? Time will tell.
This produced-in-Canada TV show follows the life of a succubus as she learns to control her abilities, helps those in need, and discovers the truth about her origins. The cast of Lost Girl also includes K.C. Collins, Kris Holden-Ried, Ksenia Solo, Rick Howland, and Zoie Palmer.
The TV show's ratings are the best way to tell if Lost Girl will be cancelled or renewed for a third season on Syfy (it's already been renewed in Canada). The second season of Syfy's Lost Girl airs Monday or Friday nights. There are 22 episodes.
These figures will be updated as the weeks progress so be sure to bookmark and return...

Canadian TV series "Lost Girl", which also airs on Syfy here in the States, has lined up a pretty impressive guest star for its upcoming Season 3: none other than ass-kicker supreme Linda Hamilton.
TVLine reports that Hamilton (The Terminator, "Beauty and the Beast") will guest star in Season 3's tenth episode as Acacia, “a tough, sexy, and ruthless assassin who has enjoyed a storied and deadly career.”
Season 2 of "Lost Girl" is currently finishing out its run on Syfy by moving to Friday nights at 10:00 Pm, and Season 3 will air on both Syfy and Showcase in 2013 (Syfy says January while Showcase just says winter).
Synopsis:
Anna Silk (Being Erica) stars as seductress Bo, a Succubus (a powerful female entity in folklore) who feeds off sexual energy. Raised by human parents, Bo had no reason to believe she was anything other than the girl next door – until she “drained” her first boyfriend to death.

Of course, for the most part I only know of Lost Girl from its U.S. airing, but I’m a fan, and Linda Hamilton showing up is just too cool.
She’ll be guest-starring as an assassin no less, and it ought to be a rather fun trip. Call me crazy, but this show just gets better and better, and I love to see things coming south.
Are you a fan of the show, and is this a good move?

Excellent news about a fun, entertaining supernatural crime show with some cool creatures, a fair amount of sex and terrific chemistry between the characters. Hopefully you’ve been catching Lost Girl on Syfy, Mondays at 10/9c. The show is Syfy‘s only “acquired” scripted series. It’s a Canadian production and has been broadcast there with great success and rabid fans, if my international Twitter feed is any indication.
It was renewed for a third season in Canada back in December, before Season 1 debuted here on Syfy in January. Syfy began airing Season 2 the week after Season 1 concluded, and Season 2 is still rolling out now. It’s great news that we’ll be seeing the third season here as well. Here’s the press release:

Good news for fans of the Fae: The Huffington Post has exclusively learned that Syfy has renewed "Lost Girl" for a third season, which will arrive on the network in January 2013.
Canadian fans may already be aware that the frisky drama, which chronicles life in an underground community called the Fae, had been renewed north of the border several months ago, but the Syfy renewal means that American "Lost Girl" fans won't be left behind as the 13-episode third season unfolds.
The 22-episode second season of "Lost Girl," which stars Anna Silk as a succubus named Bo, is currently airing on Syfy on Mondays, but as of July 20, the supernatural drama is moving to Fridays at 10 p.m. Et.
Season 3 will feature a new face: Rachel Skarsten. The actress has appeared in "The Vow" and "Flashpoint," and will recur as Tamsin, a thrill-seeking Fae who, according to the network, "ruffles many feathers.

Last week on Lost Girl we learned about how an Ash is chosen. Likeability must not be a requirement, as he really, really isn’t. We thought that last week, and this clip from tonight’s new episode confirms it; he’s horrible, and this is not good news for Lauren:

Yowie, I believe we can all agree that the new Ash has misspelled the term with an “h” instead of another “s”. I am really looking forward to Kenzi’s remarks on the matter.
Lost Girl, starring Anna Silk, Ksenia Solo, Zoie Palmer, Kris Holden Reid, Richard Howland, and K.C. Collins, airs Mondays at 10/9c on Syfy.

Well, there’s a much bigger audience for this news than there was when I mentioned that the second of Lost Girl was coming, so hopefully there are a lot of you out there that are glad to hear that Season 3 is getting underway.
It’s timely news as well, now that Syfy kicked off Eureka! last night, which hopefully gave Lost Girl even more of a boost. It’s also timely, because I know there are some folks out there who started to wonder when Syfy began talking about Season 2 of a rebroadcast show that didn’t actually have a Season 3 yet.
I love Syfy for airing the show, but it’s tricky for some fans who may find themselves unsure how much they want to invest in a show, when the network you’re watching it on isn’t really in control of what happens.

I hope you’re all watching Lost Girl, the Syfy broadcast of the hit Canadian show. If not, be sure to check this one out, because it’s a lot of fun. Stars Anna Silk, Ksenia Solo, and Kris Holden-Ried were available for a Q&A session recently, and as we approach the first season finale on the Syfy run, I thought you might want to get to know these characters better.
