Here are the discoveries I've made in 25 years as a casting director:Train with the best. Fifteen years with Geoffrey Johnson and Vinnie Liff taught me the importance of detail, preparation, research, and good taste. Hey, Geoff!Cast a good office. My colleagues are the best and funniest. Hey, Eric, Merri, Dale, Kaitlin, and Lindsay, stop dancing and get back to work! The importance of good manners. Hey, Mom and Dad, you were right!Just trying to keep up with Susan Stroman's imagination is a big challenge. Hey, Stro, slow down!Yesterday's dance captain is today's choreographer. Hey, Rob Ashford! When in doubt or trouble, go back to the text. Hey, what does this character say?Listening is almost always more valuable than speaking. Hey, Tara, shhhh!Dancers are the greatest. Hey, Terpsichore, thanks! The Internet is the casting director's best friend. Hey, IMDb Pro!A well-prepared audition is a privilege to experience.
