The "Rick and Morty" writers' room has become somewhat of a breeding ground for the next generation of Marvel Cinematic Universe talent. After a stint on the show, Michael Waldron worked on "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" and "Loki." Jessica Gao is the creator of "She-Hulk: Attorney At Law." Tom Kaufman wrote an episode of "Loki." Even "Rick and Morty" co-creator Dan Harmon did some work on the "Doctor Strange" script, regardless of the fact that most of his contributions apparently ended up on the cutting room floor.
Now, another alumni from the fan-favorite animated series is expanding his role in the House of Ideas. According to Deadline, Jeff Loveness has been tapped to write "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty." The following contains Loki spoilers.
Loki episode 5 introduced a multitude of new Loki variants, including an older Classic Loki sporting the character’s iconic comic costume, a younger Kid Loki version, and most importantly: Alligator Loki. This small reptilian variant – complete with tiny golden horns! – is apparently just as much of an Asgardian trickster as his more human counterparts.
While Alligator Loki’s screentime during “Journey into Mystery” is relatively limited, he nevertheless steals every scene in which he appears – and all of our hearts along the way – thanks to his sassy growls and penchant for violence. Because let’s face it, no matter what you were expecting from Loki, an alligator version of the character biting the hand off another, entirely different version of the character was probably not it. Embrace the chaos, Marvel!
Despite Classic Loki’s heroic sacrifice at the end of the episode and the chilling...

The world needs documentary cinema. Filmmakers willing to shine a light on the human condition, in all of its forms, are essential to the world. Moreover, we need tastemakers who are willing to seek out these stories, support them as they struggle to get made, and then nurture them as they enter the world. Too often, a documentary will go unseen. Kudos to our last President and First Lady, Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, respectively, for the work they’re doing with their Higher Ground shingle. Partnered with Netflix, they won the Oscar Best Documentary Feature last year with American Factory. Tomorrow, they return with another awards worthy doc in Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution. The film, coming at the same time as the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, looks at the revolutionary Camp Jened. In the early 1970s, teenagers with disabilities had very little in the way of options.

by Peter BelsitoTwo years after his documentary on the Black Panthers, filmmaker Stanley Nelson chronicles the evolution of the United States’ historically black colleges and universities.Group of graduated students, men and women at Atlanta University 1900s (Credit: Atlanta University Center)
The story of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (aka HBCUs) began before the Civil War and influenced the course of our nation yet remains one of America’s most important untold stories. Until now.
Veteran documentarian Stanley Nelson’s latest work traces the century-and-a-half story of HBCUs in the documentary film “Tell Them We Are Rising” revealing the crucial role of HBCUs not only in the identity of black Americans but in the nation as a whole.
A haven for Black intellectuals, artists and revolutionaries — and path of promise toward the American dream — Black colleges and universities have educated the architects of freedom movements and cultivated leaders in every field.
