“Emily in Paris” has been renewed for Season 2 at Netflix, the streaming service said Wednesday.
The first season of the Lily Collins comedy launched Oct. 2.
From “Sex and the City” creator Darren Star, “Emily in Paris” is about Emily (played by Collins), “an ambitious twenty-something marketing executive from Chicago, unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris when her company acquires a French luxury marketing company — and she is tasked with revamping their social media strategy,” per Netflix. “Emily’s new life in Paris is filled with intoxicating adventures and surprising challenges as she juggles winning over her work colleagues, making friends, and navigating new romances.”
Along with Collins, the comedy — which was originally set to debut at Paramount Network (and TV Land before that) before moving to Netflix in July — stars Ashley Park, Philippine Leroy Beaulieu, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Camille Razat and Bruno Gouery. The long road to the screen for Emily in Paris is almost over.
Netflix on Wednesday dropped a new trailer for the series, and it gave us our first glimpse at Emily's work life, as well as her relationships.
What is evident from the clip is that Emily is highly opinionated and is not afraid to speak her mind, which seeming rubs her co-workers the wrong way.
Whether she will be able to make it work in Paris is up for debate, especially when she is branded dramatic.
Emily also seems to be in a complicated relationship with her hot neighbor, and we're not complaining.

Netflix dropped the trailer for “Emily in Paris,” its upcoming 10-episode rom-com series starring Lily Collins as that titular American who is trying to figure out her place in the City of Love. It doesn’t come so naturally for Emily who describes herself as “the girl who shows up, not the girl who makes bad decisions” after getting herself involved with a sexy Parisian guy who has a girlfriend.
However, he uses his charms to try and get Emily to accept that “you don’t come to Paris to be good.” Meanwhile, Emily is busy at work trying to teach her new superiors the difference between “sexy” and “sexist” after being transferred to the foreign office.
Watch the trailer here and via the video above.

Awkward., Season 5, Episode 01, “Prank Amateurs”
Written by Mike Chessler
Directed by Peter Lauer
Airs Mondays at 9 pm Et on MTV
Season four of Awkward. saw Jenna wrestle with a low school ranking and possibly losing out on going to college. While both situations resolved themselves, she was still left with trying to resolve her feelings about Matty, especially after discovering the latter was willing to wait with Gabby when he hadn’t been so patient with Jenna herself. With the show entering its final season, the fifth season premiere stumbles massively with regards to Jenna, but nonetheless holds some promise for an enticing season that would serve as a good sendoff for the series as a whole.
One of the major issues with the season premiere is Jenna’s focus on Matty. While this is not uncharacteristic of Awkward., Jenna’s previous romantic flings, with Matty or others, have always...

Awkward., Season 4, Episode 21: “Sprang Break: Part 2”
Written by Mike Chessler and Chris Alberghini
Directed by Peter Lauer
Airs Tuesdays at 10pm Est on MTV
From Jenna’s acceptance into college to Matty meeting his biological father, last week’s episode of Awkward. saw many storylines of the season come to a head. With major concerns out of the way for a number of characters, this week’s season finale sees the group deal with the aftermath and try to figure out their place, in a satisfying finish that leaves a fair amount of promise for the series’ final season.
It’s interesting to see Sadie’s anxiety over leaving become explicit in this episode. For one, it gives a clear reason for her increased attitude issues over the past two episodes, rather than simply being another character aberration. It also adds another dimension to Sadie’s imminent departure.

Matty turning 18 opened a major door for the character, in legally allowing him to find his birth parents. While the possibility of meeting them turned him away from Gabby and back in Jenna’s direction, the latter’s growing fondness for the former caused Jenna to put a stop to it. The past two weeks, however, have seen Matty and Jenna both struggle between what should be done and what they’d like to do. This has led to a strong pair of episodes that have allowed for a degree of character growth, pointing towards an intriguing finish for the season.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Season 1, Episode 7, “48 Hours”

Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s Halloween episode is a tough act to follow and “48 Hours” doesn’t quite deliver in the same way. What is usually enjoyable about the show is its healthy balance of silly comedy and plot progression. This week the show struggles to find that balance as most of the episode is driven by Jake and his absurd nature. “48 Hours” focuses on Jake’s mistakes and how they affect the rest of the workforce and quite frankly, it feels like a huge step back in comparison to the previous episodes. Chuck Review, Season 5, Episode 7, “Chuck Versus the Santa Suit”
Written by Amanda Shuman
Directed by Peter Lauer
Airs Fridays at 8pm (Et) on NBC
It’s rare to see brand-new episodes from the networks during the week before Christmas, especially only two days before the big event. Given Chuck’s weak ratings since its move to Fridays, NBC appears to be plowing through the remaining episodes as quickly as possible. The benefit for fans is the chance to watch fresh content during a pretty dead zone for television. This week’s theme also centers on Christmas, so it makes sense to air the story right before the holiday. It’s a great time to catch up with a show that’s starting to find its legs again during its final run.
Coming on the heels of the first great episode of the season, “Chuck Versus the Santa Suit” arrives with high expectations.

"Death Valley" ended its twelve show running November 21st with "Peace in the Valley." This was another short episode that packed in a lot of plot developments in twenty minutes. The vampires in the valley declared peace, John John (Texas Battle) and Rinaldi (Tania Raymonde) shared a kiss and a new creature was prowling the San Fernando Valley in murderous style. Only one question remained; will there be a second season?
That question has not been answered yet. In this episode, there was a lot of action and very little comedy. There was an awkward enema at the hospital, but this episode stayed mostly with the tone of drama. The peaceful meeting between the Undead Task Force and the vampires in the city started off well and then, ended badly. John John and Rinaldi are getting closer,...

Cartoon Network’s original movie Level Up is a fantastical comedy for the video game age. At night, Wyatt (Gaelan Connell), Lyle (Jessie T. Usher) and Dante (Connor del Rio) battle together as heroic avatars “Black Death,” “Sir Bickle” and “Wizza” in a massively multi-player online video game, Conqueror of All Worlds. Yet, in real life these high school classmates barely know each other’s names, let alone each other’s real identities. That all changes after they mistakenly open a portal from the game world to the real world.

On October 28, 2000, Nickelodeon aired Cry Baby Lane, a made-for-television horror movie very much in the vein of its long-running Are You Afraid Of The Dark? The plot centered around a teenage séance which accidentally resurrected the ghost of the evil half of a pair of Siamese twins (who had been separated and buried separately after death). The following day, Nickelodeon received a number of complaints widely described as unprecedented, and the network never aired it again, released it on home video, or even seemed to speak its name, lest it be resurrected from beyond the ether.
But last week, a copy resurfaced online, and fans and thrill-seekers were once again able to see Cry Baby Lane. But as director Peter Lauer perhaps put it best, it may be better for those wondering to keep on wondering than actually see the film and be disappointed. So how scary is Cry Baby Lane?...

I've been candid over the years about my love for Chuck, supporting it and nurturing it and standing up for it whenever renewal seemed like a distant proposition rather than a sure thing. But I've also been upfront about my thoughts about this creatively uneven season, which seemed to veer from strong episodes to really weak ones on a weekly basis. Last night's episode ("Chuck Versus the Push Mix"), written by Rafe Judkins and Lauren LeFranc and directed by Peter Lauer, was originally intended to be the season finale for Season Four of Chuck, back when the season had only gotten a thirteen-episode commitment, but as with last season, an eleventh hour order of additional episodes meant that the semi-season finale wrapped up several storylines but wouldn't be the end to the season. Which brings us to the here and now, as I have to take an unpopular stand and...

On a series that's as fraught with peril as Chuck is each week, the possibility of happiness seems particularly short-lived, if it's ever in fact within any of the characters' grasp to begin with. Yet, on this week's episode of Chuck ("Chuck Versus the Other Guy"), written by Chris Fedak and directed by Peter Lauer, our main characters all seemed to get exactly what they wanted most, a nice change of pace for a season that's been shrouded in a fair amount of darkness and emotional injury. It's worth noting that last night's episode was intended to be the season finale for Season Three of Chuck, rather than just a plot-intensive installment. The fact that the writers sought to give several of our spies the thing they've been striving for most was a nice touch that would have ended the season on a hell of a high, while setting up...

NEW YORK -- Leah Remini of The King of Queens will star in a new Web series about motherhood that will incorporate consumer-generated stories from moms into each episode.
Created by Mindshare Entertainment in partnership with its advertiser clients Suave and Sprint, the series will air on MSN and be heavily promoted on The Ellen DeGeneres Show as part of an innovative 10-week integration deal.
The five-episode series In the Motherhood is being directed by Peter Lauer, whose credits include Malcolm in the Middle, Arrested Development and Chappelle's Show. The series, which profiles the "ever-hectic but always humorous" lives of three mom girlfriends, will premiere May 11 with a Mother's Day episode at www.inthemotherhood.com, a site being hosted on MSN.
"We believe this is a groundbreaking series," said David Lang, managing partner for MindShare Entertainment, who conceived of the series and the unusual partnership between two very different brands -- Suave and Sprint -- that are both interested in marketing to mothers. "For the first time ever we are marrying consumer-generated stories with professional screenwriters and top-name talent to create an online comedy series that is activated in a 360-degree fashion. I think we're really taking consumer-generated content and consumer-generated interactivity to a whole new level."
Hollywood screenwriters will develop the characters and story lines for each episode of Motherhood, based on the stories voted the best entries at the site.
