Greg Lee, co-lead singer of the California ska band Hepcat, has died at 53 years old.
His partner Amanda Becker revealed the news in a social media post, writing that Lee had suffered a “massive brain aneurysm and cardiac arrest” at their home in Paramount, California on Sunday (March 17th) before passing away in the hospital on Tuesday.
“I found him on the floor unconscious and not breathing,” Becker recalled. “I immediately called for 911 and the first responders were through the door within moments. They were able to regain his pulse, but he was not able to breathe on his own. He has been on life support in the Nicu ever since and has not regained consciousness. The neurologist let us know his case is very rare and that the moment was swift. He did not suffer.”

“SNL” brought back the 1990s kids’ game show “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?” in an attempt to figure out what’s happened to Donald Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway. Recreating the show’s colorful aesthetic, the show asked what’s happened to the adviser, who hasn’t been seen on television for the last seven weeks. The sketch even featured a recreation of male acapella group Rockapella, famous for singing the “Carmen Sandiego” theme song, featuring host Chris Pine, and brought back original host Greg Lee. Time to find Kellyanne. #SNLLiveCoastToCoast pic.twitter.com/RnpKNBVAod — Saturday Night Live (@nbcsnl...

There's a long history of grown-ups trying to make educational materials entertaining. However, there's also a long history of most of these efforts turning out to be heavy on the education, light on the fun. It's a tough one for adults to wrap their heads around, but they're not always the best at predicting what kids will take to and what they'll sniff out as just being homework gussied up like playtime.
One exception? The various Carmen Sandiego games. Next to Oregon Trail, they were often the best possible use for a school computer back in the day. And in...

Newsradio, “Pilot”
Written by Paul Simms
Directed by James Burrows
Original air date: March. 21, 1995 on NBC
As far as sitcoms go, Newsradio is a diamond in the rough. Despite a not-so-unique workplace setting, the show successfully combines wit and physical comedy, without ever feeling dull or predictable. It has the kind of quick, self-sustaining energy that we love about sitcoms, and it all began with the pilot episode. Of course, every series begins with a pilot, but with Newsradio, the first episode never feels forced or stiff in the way many others have. Often times, sitcoms struggle with comedic timing in their first few outings. Featuring a veteran cast, boasting a strong background in comedy (Dave Foley, Kids in the Hall; Phil Hartman, Saturday Night Live; Andy Dick, The Ben Stiller Show), Newsradio hits its stride right from the get-go.
The episode opens with Dave (Dave Foley) arriving at Wnyx,...

She’ll ransack Pakistan and run a scam in Scandinavia but Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego right now? The Chief is no doubt on it, but we’ve discovered that at some point she’ll be at a theater near you. Walden Media confirmed to EW the reports that they have acquired the rights to turn Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? from a beloved 90′s kids show/computer game into a live-action movie. (That’s right, you’ll get to shout “The warrant!” and “The loot!” all over again.)

Sam's Lake is the directorial debut of Andrew C. Erin. Sam's Lake is a suspenseful horror film / slasher starring Sandrine Holt, William Gregory Lee, Fay Masterson and Stephen Bishop that incorporates elements of tall tales, urban legends, and atmospheric photography. Sam's Lake takes place at a lake in an isolated area where an escaped psychiatric patient makes his way through the surrounding wilderness, back to his childhood home, killing his family in their sleep, then runs into the woods never to be found. Many years later the horrifying massacre has turned legend as disappearances haunt the surrounding towns. Sam Fay Masterson, a young woman who, every summer, returns home to the secluded lakeside cottage where she grew up, reconnects with her traditions, old friends and memories of the past.
